  • We're not just showing you how to build a floating deck, but a floating deck with a waterfall effect. We make the decking boards "flow over" the side. Learn how to make your own floating deck, with the waterfall type feature if you choose. Take a look at how slick it looks when it's finished.
I have my studio tucked away in the backyard, but the entryway is just red clay at the moment. So I made my several trips to home depot - I'd go to Lowes if it were closer - and purchased about $350 worth of lumber, screws, and attachment hardware to make this 5'x16' deck. Even though mine is attached, the way I built it could easily be accomplished as a floating deck. It probably took me around 20 hrs. It probably would have gone faster, had I drawn it out on paper first. Oh well, win some, lose some. Regardless, I got a good workout and built a sturdy, good-looking feature that serves a real purpose.
In the video you will see each step of the way.
