The statement “Autistic people are more likely to be trans” could either mean A/(A+B) > (A+C)/(A+B+C+D) [more likely than the general population] or A/(A+B) > C/(C+D) [more likely than allistic people]. Either way, the statement algebraically rearranged to the converse statement, “Trans people are more likely to be autistic”. Its just strange to me that she thinks she has any kind lf authority on the intricacies of the identities of people she's never even met. She's constantly trying to police who is and isnt allowed to be queer. Wonder what her reaction would be to someone doing the same to her. Not that anyone deserves that of course but she really seems like someone who has never been confronted with this kind of treatment

I've never had anyone, besides a friend I met in the psych ward, that I could relate to so much when it comes to school. Only difference is that I practically dropped out at 14, but on paper it was 16 I think. I have not been diagnosed with autism directly but I HEAVILY suspect it and am trying to get a diagnosis. This whole video is something I can relate to and definitely a good sign for me to go get that diagnosis

were i used to live i went to a school made for girls (they have a boys division im not a boy so i was in the girls division) with disabilities or difficulty learning. one girl i knew there has diabetes i have autism + adhd one girl even came from not only a different city but a different state altogether were i live now i go to online school and that makes school a lot easier

Wow, thank you for making this video! It makes me feel so much less alone. The thing I struggle with the most when it comes to a job is that I cannot preform on the same level consistently. When I'm depressed it affects me so deeply that just the most basic mundane things drain my even more limited amount of energy. So for example: Yes I can commute to a location and classify documents all day long when I'm not depressed. If I am depressed I don't know if I'm gonna be able to leave the house. If I can I will still be late and I will likely burn out way before my working hours are over. The more I try to keep up with what I do when I'm not depressed the worse it will get. Not to mention that not taking care of myself will make the 'bad' period last a lot longer. How can I ask from any employer to be okay with not knowing if I will even show up to work on any given day? I just can't make any promises at all.

Istg, I’m so weird about hobbies. Every birthday of mine is a bit of a dilemma, because I latch onto a hobby, get obsessed, but after at most like 2 years it’s suddenly just gone. And it has happened so often that my family and friends noticed that I was particularly interested in puzzling for example so they give me a bunch of puzzles and for the first birthday that’s fine and cool, but then I slowly lose interest, but the people around me don’t notice it and I get a bunch of puzzles again and now I have at least 3 puzzles I haven’t finished yet 😭

FFS Autism and ADHD is in your DNA. It's just luck and nothing is causing it. It's not chemicals, it's not vaccines, It's not processed food. It's not anything. It just is there. More cases are because there is more diagnosis and unfortunately more misdiagnoses. Translate it to "Why are they diagnosing more autism?". The psychiatrists and psychologists need to see psychiatrists and psychologists. Their comments are deliberately misleading bring in people who are easily triggered. Oh your mum took antidepressants and you are autistic, well maybe your mum is autistic and she had a hard time because of it but was never diagnosed? Again it's kind of confirming the role of DNA. After both my children have been diagnosed (13 and 16 at time of diagnosis) we have received a lot of education in the autism condition. On top of that my wife is diagnosed with ADHD and has a personality disorder as well. During the education I start to realize how I've lived my life wondering how so many things about me is different and why I didn't feel the things socializing that some of my friends expressed. I'm undiagnosed myself, but I can set a checkbox in 8 out of 10 autistic traits and with both children with infantile autism everything has started making sense. Stumbled upon some of your videos and especially my eldest daught and myself enjoy watching them - well rooted in the science and personal experience. Thank you.

That Dr K video is a great example why I hate tik tok / the constant rise of short form content. Was everything he said in the longer discussion great? Surely not. But the way the short video cuts completely reasonable takes down to outrageously false really demonstrates how dangerous this can be.

okay so now that i think about it this might actually be what what happened to me all though intermediate school. however. i don't know if i can exactly call it autistic burnout. not because i'm not dianosed with autism or anything. the specific words on the letter from the psychiatrist were "Neurodivergent(ASD Traits)". and because im a teenager, its my parents that i went to for help with interpreting this letter. my mum says that i'm autistic. my dad says that just because i have traits of being on the autism spectrum doesnt mean that im autistic (because and i quote "on every spectrum one end is alive and the other is dead." im guesing he meant something along the lines of "you might have a couple traits but because its a spectrum you arent autistic."). i don't know who do believe is the thing. my mum was at the appointment with me, and read the full letter from my psychiatrist. my dad has a degree in psychology. i want to say i'm autistic. but does Neurodivergent with ASD traits mean "yeah that;s basically autism we just havent done any proper tests yet" or "yeah you got a couple traits but like. your just neurodivergent. not autistic." what am i meant to do? i keep getting overwhelmed even now, and i just. i dont know what to do. sorry for typing this whole long thing out :P i needed to say this somewhere

You may have low numbers of older people in your audience because every once in a while you slag us off, which doesn't seem to be in keeping with how you usually are. Apparently we are fair game.

I understand that the registered behavior technician in this video may be coming from a place of love and concern for their patients, but to diagnose or refute the diagnosis of a person who is not your patient, and who you are only familiar with because of videos they have posted of themself on social media is not only _unbelievably_ unprofessional, but _incredibly_ unethical. This is something that is taken _very_ seriously in the medical community, and it is deeply concerning that someone in the medical field would be comfortable doing this. If they are still working in medicine, I hope that someone has taken the time to really instill in them how _deeply_ wrong it was for them to do what they did. I'm so sorry for all of the people who have to put up with this kind of treatment. Bad enough to have extra hurdles in your life to begin with, but even worse when you have to put up with people who don't believe you and don't support you. You have my love and support.

I mask so much it's not even funny, sometimes i mask for my dog because my current mood is making him distressed. It's no surprise i am in burnout, i feel like quitting my job and just staying in bed for 3 months.
