Federal Signal STL-10B - Short Alert | Hamlet, NC
Originally Recorded: 7/6/24
Me and my family recently went to North Carolina for vacation. We were staying in Pinehurst, NC which is West of Fayetteville. But long before we went, I was looking for sirens in NC I could record. The only closest options were either Fayettevilles Modulator or this STL-10B. I went with the STL-10 because they are clearly better then the Modulator no questions asked.
The day before I went to siren I called the FD to make sure they were testing the next day. It was a lady on the phone and she didn't know at first, so she went to ask the fire chief about it. She came back and said the Chief said that they are not testing tomorrow. So I was bummed but I came up with a backup plan, that I could record trains in Southern Pines since CSX and Amtrak Silver Star runs on that line. I did get some mixed feelings about the siren test though the current day of the test, so I decided to call the FD a second time to see if they are testing. It was a different guy on the phone who said that they should be testing today. So either the lady that I talked with the other day complety lied to me or she is new. But regardless of the confusion I went to this beast.
When I got there and set up my camera and everything, it was hot as shit out there! It was 92 degress and it felt like 101 degress. I was sweating balls out there but I still wanted to hear this STL-10 (You can see me in the secondary shot looking sad but that was just because I was so hot). The siren did go off though and it was loud as hell. So pretty cool siren to record!

Im back guys! Sorry if I have not uploaded in a while! I play flag football saturdays so that kind of got in the way of siren recording but were back guys! I decided to go to this siren as it has been repaired a year ago after it just stopped working. This morning I did call the fire department to see if they were testing their siren or not. I did not call the fire dispatch because they are ann...

This siren is on private property in the distance, so I had to park at this private school and go into the field right next to the school and film the siren. at about 9:58 am, a worker from the La Plata Waste Water Treatment Plant drove right past me and waved. I thought it was just him saying hi. Later on, the siren goes off, and right as the siren went off, we drove to me and told me "Your fi...

After 3 attempts of trying to go to this siren had failed, first attempt was my dad firmly saying no because he was busy, I was like "Ok thats fine it happens", second attempt didn't work out because I was coming back from Rehobeth Beach Deleware. The third time was human error because I lost track of time, and now finally after so long I saw this thing. This siren was found by a youtuber named...

ya normal adams county sfu. But adams county seriously needs to change their tones. I was gonna go to Preston md for there 3t22 but their was traffic on the bay bridge, probably because of 4th of July, but idk. Now that their was traffic, I had to think of a backup plan, and that was either St. Marys County, or Adams county pa. St. Marys has more of a probability of testing, but their sirens su...

I know in my Smyrna video I said this would be my last siren across the Bay Bridge, but it's not so yay. I had some doubts about this test but also some hope, because dorchester county sometimes don't test because they are slow! (Just kidding). Before the test, I wanted to call fire dispatch to make sure they test, but on the web, their is no number for the fire dispatch. So instead I called Hu...

I got there at 7:03 and the siren immeditally went off. I thought they tested early but then I heard the fire trucks in the distance so I knew it was just a fire call thankfully. I don't know why they would test again if they really kind off already tested? But whatever, i'm glad I got to see 2 tests really

Super fast wind up for a single phase STL-10! Dare I say it peaks better than some 3 phase variants out there
I agree with you honestly
Nice video!
Thanks!
I finally got Mount Jacksons Sterling-M-10 Thunderbolt 1000 and Little Giant but sadly they all are inactive I even got a picture
Wait, why does 475 have 89's whistle? Strange
Still sounds like crap
real but it’s the same video lol
Awesome! I got a T-128 in Lindale TX just moments ago as well!
Thats pretty cool! However I recorded this 2 years ago lol
Another one huh uayayayayay
Reuploaded because I had to turn off remixing so people don't steal
Did you here the news the girdletree STH-10 is replaced by a Equiniox
yup I already knew that
This exact model is on the fire department on the maps.app.goo.gl/WRbvxYg84GAAP4US9?g_st=ic but on google maps it’s red but last time I saw it it was patriotic
I was here when it went off for a fire call! Pretty quiet unfortunately, but looks pretty good
Most definitely
umm I think you made a mistake it’s a model 3…
changed it my bad
Wow, fire fighter was really nice!
Yup he was!
Have you ever checked out Herbrons STH-10 it’s special because the manufacturer for it put 3V8 horns on it
I already know about Hebrons STH-10, it has been recorded already by Sweet Tea Sirens I think like 2 years ago. I would record it myself but problem it is too far from where I live and I can't drive so in the future ill probably record. But regardless of the 3V8-H it is still a regular sth-10 but still cool
yeah I used to go to school in herbron and I heard it alot
wait I thought thunderbolt railfuning productions did that in November 2020
Both Sweet Tea Sirens and TRP already recorded it
ohh
hey Baltimore sirens there’s some locations on your Maryland siren map that you missed it’s all at the navel academy there’s two DSA-2X2s
Ill look into it thanks for the locations
Do you happen to know the specific coordinates of where these sirens are?
maps.app.goo.gl/xggeSNJQ8ytbAAVE7?g_st=ic look at it from king george st DSA-2X2
maps.app.goo.gl/NHZyDqjPos5udjY7A?g_st=ic infront of the ingram field on a light post
Do you know if this siren is still active? I live in Lancaster County, PA. And I wanted to see if I could film this maybe?
As I know, this siren is still active as of today
@@baltimoresirens2139and where is this?
really feels like a super sirex with smaller/shorter horns honestly
I love 3t22 with dampers on
By any chance where's its direct location? I'm going to be in that area soon, and I would like to film it.
DC Detention Center Building
@@baltimoresirens2139 There's multiple buildings-
California, MD = 3T22 Pre-Record San Francisco, CA = STL-10 Pre-Record
Reminded of a sire here in Ellis County Kansas lol

Gosh. I had to say its a Crappy ATI 3T22.
Probably my most favorite siren! We have one in my hometown and I gotta say, when it starts wailing and the sound echoes off the hills, it gets eerie lol. When the FD does their tests right before a storm hits, it gets a bit unnerving. Makes me think they're expecting the worst to happen.
Yeah depending on where you are 3T22s can sound pretty scary
That was morse code in the beginning of the video, not paging. Every 30 minutes the repeater will transmit it morse code, which is the station ID.
Got it, thanks!
@@baltimoresirens2139 Or, if no one has transmitted on the repeater for a while, then, after the transmission, it will transmit morse code.
Thanks for the shoutout! I'm glad you finally got to see it test!
Yup, also found out that Bryans Road tests as well in Hi-lo
Definitely do for some refurbishment. But the motors are super healthy. The wind up was really fast.
UPDATE: The siren did not go off due to someone being suicidal on the Bay Bridge, All tests were cancelled for the Community Alert Systems as of this diaster (I ended up waiting in 7 hours of traffic because of it too)
3 phase GE motors are my favorites on Federal sirens!! They tend to sound so much healthier!!
Its a 2909
GE motors for the win!
STH-10B
2t22 and 3t22 and 1t22 is my favourite sirens
THIS SIREN IN DUNKIRK AT THE WAWA, THATS WHERE DUNKIRK VFD WAS AT, LOOK DOWN THE ROAD UR AND UR SEE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
I have these all over my town
Hey Baltimore Sirens That ATI HPSS-32 Sounds Like Federal Signal 2T22
Because it has 2t22 prerecorded audio encrypted into the siren
@@baltimoresirens2139Now his name is AT22 (it's jokes)
That jawn needs some vitamins
so real
So what is frequency clearing? The tone was meant to page the FD.
Also, GOTTA RECORD!! ⌚⌚⌚🎥🎥
I didn't know what the frequincy was originally for, so I just put frequincy clearance on their to make the video more finished, but thanks for letting me know that the tone was for paging! Also frequincy clearing is just a tone to put any calls on hold until the test is over
@@baltimoresirens2139 Alright thanks.
It goes off every day? Sweet! I'll try recording this siren.
No it goes of every saturday at noon
UPDATE: The indian head ambiance was not from Indian Head, it was from Bryans Road as they have a 3T22 at the top of the FD
I despise the fact that the audio cuts off when the pre-recorded 2t22 starts to wind down. I just despise this "siren" in general.
Usually the morse code is transmitted every 30 minutes for the repeater identification.
What would happen if you recorded Middletown DE’s STH-10?
Middletown does not have an STH-10 unless im dumb and don't know, if their is one please give me the location because I will put the location on my map. Also even if their was one STH-10 in middletown, it doesent test anyway, neither would the county
and a fail…. that happens a lot
Not a fail, Denton has a policy in which there sirens dosen't activate for any siren tests
that siren is massive, im not really a siren knowing guy but ive seen a few and that things pretty big aint it?
Yeah it's a decent sized siren, but it's a b series one so it's a bit smaller then a series
Wow Caroline county actually texted
Yup!
What the hell is that shit 😂😂 Really trying to turn an ATI HPSS 32 into a 2T22. Pure disappointment.
