Joe Heintz; Goose Calling: What Works
zhlédnutí 1,9KPřed dnem
This week, Joe Heintz breaks down what you need to practice and work on to kill more geese using your call. He goes through the rough basics for how you can become a goose caller that never aspires to make a stage appearance but wants to be better at working geese in the field. For the most part, he talks about your clicks and moans and how effective they can be when you know how to call geese....
Cooking Wild Game
zhlédnutí 449Před 14 dny
This week we’re joined by Cal’s brother, Micah who is an avid hunter and outdoorsman. We draft our favorite ways to prepare wild game and we lay out how to make it. We’ve had a chance to eat so many types of wild game and have learned to make some of our favorites. Is waterfowl your favorite wild game to cook? What’s your go to recipe? Send a DM and let us know! Thanks for listening and be sure...

Boatload of money so cool but dang!
Just started waterfowling last season. My first duck ever was a nice pintail drake. Having it mounted in cupped flight with the actual shotgun hull I shot it with mounted on the backerboard.

My favorite mounts are ones that have a connection to the hunt. I have a pair of buffleheads mounted from my girlfriend’s first hunt. The hen got water swatted so she got mounted swimming and the drake was cupping in when he got shot so he was mounted flying
Waiting on my pair of canvasbacks to come back. They are gonna be on a table top mount and swimming together
Nigel Thornberry: Poacher 😧😱!!!!
wow you could see the pallets hitting the goose at 6:34
What call does Joe use ?
Sounds like Southern Ohio for me 😮
20 years of grinding or not… ain’t nobody getting that many bands without robbing a cradle. And I could careless if they do or not, it would be interesting to see all the ages and places those bands came from tho…. It’d be a lot of info to compile but it’d be a sick video
When he tucks it in his pocket to get birds 😂
Mean but effective sounds like!
If the warden was out there to protect waterfowl, why didn't they go out and stop them mid hunt since they were doing all of this? As an SD resident I am glad we have limited out of state licenses.
I’m tellin you these call cadence are a big part of it
I am banned from practicing anywhere near my girlfriend but she asks what was that and laughs when I make ugly noises when the geese are coming my flute is kinda a pain in the layout blind but it makes awesome big goose talk
Great video boys!
Love watching your videos
Russian roulette setup I like it 😂
Excellent information. Always a wealth of knowledge ! Can't wait for September 1st here in Alberta !!
We have tons of swans in mn i painted a couple honker floaters as swans some days they are a magnet
He did it before the hawk tuah girl blew up why not flyways?
It’s panic mode until you get 6+ feet high in a tree
I'm a blind guy, legally bliiiiiind. Pop pimp squad, holding it down.
for a second there, I thought he was talking about how blind people were his type 😂👀
Armadillo sounds like ax murder coming towards you lol
Damn I thought we just had our first blind Hunter.
Man I thought you were gonna say you were blind because you pick bad spots 😂
I was like no tf your not till I listened to the whole thing lol
I thought you meant you were blind literally lol
My dad would drop us off fishing then if we were late to our pick up time he would sneak in on us and hide and snarl and growl from the balsalms
Not cause you were eight it because you never experienced it before
DAD?!
Reminds me of going out fly fishing with my mom in Alaska for salmon. She’d literally stay in the water overnight sometimes and I’d walk back to camp by myself, started walking with a harmonica to make sure I didn’t creep up on any bears.
Cool, i got second comment.
WTF
Elk tenderloin. Slice it long ways and splay out. Then Fresh diced Garlic, fresh baby spinach, a lil diced onion not too much, cream cheese (the whipped stuff is easier to blend and ya don’t have to wait a year for the stuff to become soft enough). All that (minus the tenderloin lol) in a food processor. Should almost look like guac in color when done. Salt and pepper to taste. Spread all over the meat be as liberal as ya want just realize a lot of that excess will drip out during cooking. Does smell amazing doe. Any who roll that sucker up pin wheel style and tie with butcher twine. Quick sear on all “four” sides with some butter rosemary and thyme. Literally high heat and briefly just enough to get a slight crust. Remove and wrap with thick cut bacon using picks to hold in place. Slow cook at about 225. It’s gonna take awhile but dude 🤌
I would say fried wild turkey is really good and wood duck bacon poppers are my two favorite wild games dishes
god that duck sounds good
I love shore lunch walleye. I used to drive into Canada every year to fish for walleye.
Your mom
Thinking same 1st time I saw ur set up for 1st hunt
You're talking about me right now. Don't bring a lot to the table, but that lane is FILLED!!

December in Kansas is miserable. I was stationed out there (I am Scandinavian but have lived in eastern seaboard my whole life) and we were shooting artillery - my favorite machines - but christ almighty Kansas winter wind is just... Miserable. And the mud
4 months straight, names 5. Heck let’s fill out a calendar year! 😂 Michigan make a calendar year? Haha
The type of hand crank wench things that are on boat trailers work really well too if your skinning spot doesn’t have power
What’s a pullzall? A winch?
This is the crossover with environmentalism and hunting. The better the environment does the better the hunters do and the better the whole ecosystem is for it
There’s three note with two breaths. Is the second note first breath or second?
Or is the pause between the first and second note or the pause between the second and third note?
December in kansas is awesome
