The MX tires and the 65km/h max speed ( my driving skill) stopped the thing from competing well..... But it sure was FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!! Too bad the narrow tricky (FUN!) parts were far away from the camera.

    This guy does not have green thumb he's got green toes! Very creative! I really like what you did with that. The cut looks good! I'm just getting started on a Diy, I currently have an old 46" 3 blade rotary deck from a old geared riding lawnmower. Would you recommend having one electric motor to power each blade or one motor with a belt to power all three?

    • @kornman
      @kornman Před 4 lety

      Depends on the construction. If the rotors already are connected with a belt (likely), and you dont have three spare motors, use one motor for all three rotors. Simplest and cheapest. Remember that rotor movers consumes more energy than reel movers. So, depending on the size of your lawn, use decent motor and batteries. Look at hp of the movers former combustion engine to get a motor power hint.

    • @MoeJae86
      @MoeJae86 Před 4 lety

      @@kornman I appreciate your insight. I will definitely have to look at the lawn tractor engine that I pulled it from this weekend so I'll see if I need to use the condenser motor or a pool pump motor that I have. I'll go with single motor belt configuration.

    I have an 1960’s Jacobsen reel mower that has a 2 stroke motor on it. I have been planning to replace it with a cordless drill. I tried it for awhile but ended up breaking the transmission in the drill. Next I’m gonna try a brushless RC 1/8th scale motor directly driven off the motor. That will allow for a standardized motor controller with the ability to remote control the whole mower since it has self propelled functionality. All I will need to do is add a steering servo and a clutch servo. Thanks for the inspiration!
