i got a 1987 6.9idi someone did a universal pump and by passed the mechanical one but i keep finding tons of air in the fuel system every other day of it not being started and the universal pump keeps failing on it iv put 2 new ones on a month apart do you think that i should try to go back to this mechanical pump or no?

Did you remove anything else on the passenger side? I pulled the studs and fuel filter but the cover is still very trapped

Well done, dude! I am currently doing a complete brake job (front, back and in-between) on my 1985 720 and tomorrow, I install the new shoes, drums, and all the hardware you used as well on the back end. I am using the same spring kit from AutoZone you used (in fact the drums, shoes and wheel cylinders are all Duralast as well). I am not looking forward to wrestling with those springs ☹

On the passenger side at the 3:20 mark on the video you talk about the 2 nut trick to pull the 2 studs out. Are these studs tapered or threadedHow does that work?

removed my EGR valve a a few years ago too. i just put a little piece a of sheet between the EGR and the intake as the studs were too long for anything shorter. no emissions testing in Alberta.
