3 More DIY Hamster Boredom Breakers
Hey everyone! 👋
Today I'm going to show you how to make 3 simple boredom breakers for hamsters.
Enjoy and feel free to let me know if you plan to make any of these. 😄
I feel like I haven't made a DIY video in forever!
The wicker ball pack as mentioned in the video: amzn.to/3MTI6vd
As per usual, here's a random story:
Let me tell you about the time my dog assisted my hamster's escape.
So, for some background, three years ago we were living in our grandparent's house while they were on vacation because we had a water damage at our house.
We couldn't live at our house while the floors were getting replaced and everything....
Moral of the story, if you think the toilet is overflowing, check it. No exceptions.
Anyways, while we were at our grandparent's, I had my hamster at the time, Elfie, in a spare room.
He was in a Crittertrail back then.
In an attempt to make his living space larger (as I couldn't upgrade), I connected his cage via tubes to a large playpen he could use while I was home.
His cage was placed on the floor so it was closer to the playpen.
I always closed the doors to Elfie's room because I didn't want my dog, Honey, to go in there.
Well, the doors at my grandparent's don't close very well lol.
So one day, I was folding laundry in a room next to Elfie's and I see this little white blob waddle across the hall.
It freaked me out!
In top speed, multiple ideas were passing through my head, "there's a rat- no, a mouse?! Wait, I think that's a sock!"
Then suddenly I realized, "THAT'S ELFIE!"
I jumped up and ran over to him to scoop him up.
At my grandparent's, on one side of the upstairs hallway there's a railing where you can see down to the first floor.
It's a *big* drop if something were to fall down from there.
So basically, if Elfie fell he'd unfortunately have been toast.
That scared me a bunch to think he could have fallen.
But, I picked him up easily and carried him to his cage.
I quickly discovered that the tube system on the left side of his cage was knocked off, leaving an opening.
I always checked those tubes to make sure they were secure.
So I figured they couldn't have just came undone by themselves.
(Needless to say, I reattached them.)
When I told my mom about what had happened, she said she heard Honey bust a door open earlier.
(Our dog likes to bang doors open with her nose lol. She's really good at it 🤣.)
Well, I guess she busted in there and nudged the tubes off Elfie's cage too. 😂
She did a good job freeing him if that's what she meant to do hahah.
I put Elfie's cage on a dresser after that incident.
That was such a funny but scary experience lol.
Seeing Elfie's tiny body waddle across the hall gave me such an adrenaline rush. 😖
That's also the only time I've ever had a hamster escape, and it wasn't even the hamster's fault!
My dog pretty much assisted a prison breakout.
The end.

Hey everyone! 👋 Today I'm introducing Norbert, my new hamster. He is the sweetest little ham! 🥺 I look forward to featuring him more often on my channel. Recently, it's been raining a lot where I live. Now, I will tell you a story about the time I learned a very valuable life lesson about rain. One time when I was a young child it was raining. Wow. Hi everyone, today I'll be cleaning in preparation for my new hamster! As well as I'll be making a new multichamber hideout. I hope you enjoy the video. 🙂 Ok, now for a random story thing that I try to put in my video descriptions. So, recently I wanted to earn money as I don't have a job yet. I had a very good plan for this cash as you will see later.... I had the brilliant idea to ask my mom ...
Goodbye, Crookshanks

Unfortunately, Crookshanks passed away on May 31st. While I miss him a lot, I'm also not horribly devastated because he lived such a good life. As in "not horribly devastated" I mean I didn't cry too much over his death. I thought I'd be absolutely crushed when he passed, but when the time came I was able to just accept it. I guess with my past hamsters I always felt guilty that there was somet...

Can they have broccoli cut up into bits?
@@vlogswaveryy Of course! Broccoli is safe so cutting it in bits is safe too haha. 😊
@@Allthingshamster thank you
Blue!
I swear that hamster wanted to be the oatmeal-
Bro turned from ⚫️ to🔴
For adult Syrians I think ur supposed to feed 2 tablespoons a dau
Water bowls!!!!!
I feed a teaspoon every night but I do have dwarfies so their stomachs are smaller than crookshanks
U need to give him more. For my hamster I give a hand full in her bowl and scatter find 2 table spoons and the food stays there for a while and then repeat the vet says that’s the best and she’s a perfect weight
Asmrrrrr goals
Blueeeeee
Woah 🤯 he seems to have enjoyed it ❤😂
So right Kirby ❤❤😂😂
So talented ur ham is gonna love it
Wow that’s so cool 😮 My hamsters eyes are baby blue in some lights (and sometimes when she’s eating)
Aww there both so adorable ❤❤
Hi! Is your water bowl just a measuring cup that it's handle is cut off?! If so that's really cool and am I able to use that idea! It's okay if not♡
That's exactly what I did! Ofc, go ahead and use the idea lol. It's not patented 😂. Just make sure to sand down the handle after cutting bc it could be sharp. 😉
@@Allthingshamster Ty!!! And yep I will sand it down♡
But they don't drink from bowls

This is the second time I comment I say you should give your hamster like probably two spoons a day in the morning and at night when in the morning and one at night I say that it's the best for your hamster it's like not feeling if you don't feed your hamster you can literally just die but even if it has extra food in its cheek pouches those chick pouches are just for winter or summer that's why they're storing it so if they want to eat when they want to and not put it in their cheek pouches you should give them 3 or 2 spoons that's it
My hamsters are big back😭 They save there food then eat it all at ones😭👍
I feed 2/3tablespoons
Or blue❤
Brown❤
Im getting one in my birthday (2 months) Any name ideas my ideas rn are Starie,Starlight,Fluffy and Heartie
Make sure to do tons of hamster care research! Pulling from the space name ideas, I'd suggest... Astoria, Atlas, Sunbeam, or Pluto But I also like the names... Winston, Birdie, Dot, Newton, or Olive
“You don’t wanna see my dark side” ahh hamster
Lol 🤣
How long do you boil a quail egg to cook it? Its like the perfect mini hard boiled egg 😍
Oof, I don't remember, sorry :/
@@Allthingshamster however long it was, it looked cooked to perfection 😊
Bluee
They browrow and hide their food don't worry
Blue
I have own vup for him and every day he eats little
Did you put a lid on it because it was very close to the top and so I was wondering if I would have to put a lid on mine to
Yes, I put a lid on it. Always a good idea to use a lid because hamsters are great at escaping.
@@Allthingshamster ok thank you!! 😊
Six amount today
I like to give my hamster a little bit of food in her small food bowl and then I scatter feed all around her gigantic cage she has tons of food stashes and my vet told me she isn’t over/under weight.
Hey! I'm kind of autistic so I'm wondering if air dry clay is also safe for hamsters (I think the brand I'd use is crayola) I didn't want to make it before knowing if it is safe, or are paper clay and air dry clay the same thing? 😭
Paper clay and air dry clay are not the same. This paper clay is made with all hamster-safe ingredients. But I'm not too sure what's in commercial-made air dry clay. If you think your hamster is going to chew the air dry clay, I wouldn't use it. It could break off into little powdery bits and idk... I'd be aware of that. Also, are you just using autistic as a derogatory term... or are you actually autistic? I'm so used to people using the term the wrong way, and it's not ok to just throw that around in a derogatory way.... I'm not autistic, but I wish the best for those that are.
@@Allthingshamsterthank you! My hammy is not a chewer and he has only chewed on his hideouts once and it was more of just a nibble. so thank you for informing me! I also am actually autistic, as my brain functions differently. It's not that bad it just takes me longer to process things or learn. I also totally agree it's not ok to throw the term around, I conceder it rude..
@@MyDogIsABean Np! Gotcha! ❤ People at my high-school used to throw the term around as a synonym for being dumb. They also used to use "I'm dyslexic!" The same way. Like grrrrr. 😠 Autistic people are certainly not stupid. Neither are dyslexic people. When people do that it just spreads misinformation and diminishes other people's struggles yk? Have a good day!
@@AllthingshamsterThank you! And you have a good day too ❤
Okay am I doing something wrong? I just keep a bowl of food in there all the time, but yes I always find little stashes of food and by the way your little boy looks exactly like my little girl
Nope, if that method works for your hamster, you're doing it right!
I always feed my hamster. That’s why he’s so chunky.
i like the water bottles better bc my hamster is stupid and goes swimming😅😮
i just make sure mine has food in his bowl all the time
im gonna give my new hamster 2 table apoons a day, if it dosent eat it all ill ignore it and when its all eaten ill give more!
I just give him constant access to a bowl of food and scatter it around
no, 1. they will pick out the things they like and know "well they will refill it again 2. it can become overweight
My female dwarf hamster has blue eyes, and my male syrien hamster has dark green eyes, and my oldes female syrien hamster has blue eyes, and my youngest has brown eyes.btw love your video’s.
i dont have any hamster
I remember that I actually used to have an orange cat who’s name was crookshanks!
Non-toxic doesn't mean safe for consumption! And, what's non-toxic for humans doesn't apply to all living things.
These toys aren't for hamsters to consume. Using non-toxic glue just means if they chew on any items it won't do any damage. In addition, hamsters don't eat the things they chew on. They know the difference between food and non-food. If they didn't, they would've died out a long time ago. The hamster community in general is pretty strict with what is safe or unsafe for hamsters. Many hamster owners accept non-toxic glue to be fine for hamsters because we haven't observed any adverse effects. But, if you feel uncomfortable with using specific materials with your pet, then trust your gut. 👍
Oh same I got a hamster today and I named it olive
Poyo
I feed my hamster a full bowl❤❤
Reeeeddddd, very very red
Brown eyes
I feed him one table spoon and some days little grass little seeds and some lettuce they love if you give them a variety of fruit vegetables grass and seeds
