Today I'm back with another DIY, haha!
I'll be showing you how to make a paper clay pumpkin hideout for hamsters and other small animals. 🐹
This hideout is perfect for fall and Halloween, of course. 🎃🍂
As well as it was pretty fun to make lol, I personally enjoyed the painting process. 😂

Wow! Your pumpkin looks so good! It reminds me of the vintage paper mâché halloween jack o lanterns that people collect and pay a lot of money for. You could make some to decorate your room too. I have to watch my old videos to remember how I did stuff too lol 😆🙂

Heya! Love your diys, but have a quick question! I don’t have any glue (Ik how to make a clay without glue.) but I do have hot glue, could I glue the pieces together with that? Aka, is it safe? If you have an answer, please lmk! Tysm!!
So you're asking if you can glue the halves together with hot glue, right? I tried that when I made this but hot glue wasn't a good hold. It peeled right off the paper clay. 🥲
Might still be worth a shot, but I'd recommend just regular old glue for this DIY.
Non-toxic hot glue is safe in small amounts btw!

Is paper clay safe for other small pets as well?
From what I can tell it's safe for rats, mice, sugar gliders, gerbils and rabbits. I'm basing this off the fact that flour isn't toxic to any of these animals, so if they chew on the clay a bit it won't hurt them.
It's kinda at the owners discretion, though. The owner would need to determine if their pet is a heavy chewer or not.
Paper clay is not safe for guinea pigs and hedgehogs since they cannot digest flour.

Hey! I'm kind of autistic so I'm wondering if air dry clay is also safe for hamsters (I think the brand I'd use is crayola) I didn't want to make it before knowing if it is safe, or are paper clay and air dry clay the same thing? 😭
Paper clay and air dry clay are not the same. This paper clay is made with all hamster-safe ingredients.
But I'm not too sure what's in commercial-made air dry clay. If you think your hamster is going to chew the air dry clay, I wouldn't use it. It could break off into little powdery bits and idk... I'd be aware of that.
Also, are you just using autistic as a derogatory term... or are you actually autistic? I'm so used to people using the term the wrong way, and it's not ok to just throw that around in a derogatory way....

I also am actually autistic, as my brain functions differently. It's not that bad it just takes me longer to process things or learn. I also totally agree it's not ok to throw the term around, I conceder it rude..
