I never realized how great my childhood was growing up with Barkley lake 400 yards behind my house

I wanted a Vanford 500 so bad, but they remove some of the bearings and other tech to fit the 500 size frame. Ended up with a new Stradic FM 1000 size, it has been great.

I’ve been using that exact rig for over a decade now. Super ultra light, 1” grub, 1/32oz jig head. And have caught slab gills, monster crappie, both large and smallmouth, even a few small stream walleye and a handful of respectable pike. I don’t only fish that rig exclusively, but my smallest ultra light is dedicated to the 1/32 oz jug and it is never far from hand. I’ll often still fish, minnows and shiners under a slip bobber, while casting that jig. However, when it comes to bedding bluegills, nothing will beat fly fishing, size 12 or smaller nymph will often catch gills one after another when they’re even refusing garden worms. I get the idea that when it comes to spawning gill’s you can’t fish too small. I look forward all winter to fly fishing for bedding gills from a float tube late may and early June, absolute favorite season.

I've caught so many fish with those little grubs. Including gobs of nice largemouth. I fish with them whenever conditions allow, first choice always.

Hi, how do you calculate the backing first on ur spool before putting on 2lb line? I'm trouble with myself bc i have 2lb mono with 109yard but im afraid my spinning reel wont cut for it if i dont put backing first..

I have been ultra light fishing since I was about 8 or 9 ill be 45 soon. I still use this similar set up. I use to use white or a chartreuse grub. One mourning me and my neighbor went in my small boat we tied to a old natural gas well and caught over 100 bass. They were so schooled to that spot that day.

How does the imprimi compare to other jdm rods in terms of sensitivity (despite it being a solid tipped rod)

Ive heard the imprimi isnt as sensitive as other jdm rods, how would you compare it?

I've heard that part of the rod (the gap) referred to as a "spigot", the raw carbon section. It supposed to be that way. As the graphite slowly wears away from repeatedly taking it down and putting it together (thousands of times), it can shorten to the point that the two rod ends will not fully seat. It prolongs the life of the rod. I tend to keep my rods together, so its not an issue. I've heard you can bring it back with dry graphite spray if it gets to bad.
