Having a hard time getting away from the Metanium DC but I’m about to pick up the Metanium Shallow 7.1 today can’t wait. Going on my Megabass P5 Madbull.
Nice!! I just ordered one. I have the old one on a helium too. I really like Kistler rods. I got to the point of playing with the higher end rods that I just decided to make my own. Take the conquest for example..it's $10 bucks in cork, a $10 reel seat and then the torzite guides are $100. I don't know what the blank costs them but I'd imagine it ain't much. So $750 retail is a complete rip off. I've built on the new NFC C6o2 x-ray and the normal x-rays and their twice the rod as the conquest. You should start building your own...it's so much better.
Absolutely! I’ve had a few high end rods built for me from friends, where I essentially just payed them for the components. Those higher end rods have huuuuuge mark ups, but I feel like they do that to offset the research and development. I’ve always pondered building my own rods… mainly because I am sooooo picky on guides. I love high quality guides. How many rods have you built total so far?
@@TheUltralightLife I have 8 built so far. I used either fuji torzite or seaguide titanium silicon nitride and spiral wrapped them all. But yeah, I'm super picky too. There's nothing to building your own. You already know what you like it's just assembly, gluing and wrapping from there.
After I found out the mark up on rods I’ve started doing the same, a few friends started building rods and all they want is their cost in components. Once I have room I’ll start building my own also…..makes you wonder what the mark up is on reels 😅
Honestly the tatula 70 holds its own in battle… but this metanium is just way more refined. Everything from casting, reeling and landing a fish just feels more elegant. Hard to describe. Tat 70 is definitely the best tatula I’ve ever used however.
Hey Ricardo, I have not! Throughout the years, I have never owned a whole lot of St Croix, have you gave it a shot or are you interested in purchasing it?
Great reel review! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks brother many more coming soon I did some big moving with the arsenal. Got a couple fire ultralight ones coming too!

@@TheUltralightLife Also when you wrap the guides with silk thread it has a deep paint like look. It's just something you can't get on a factory rod.

Do you think the shallow metanium would be a good lighter Texas rig reel?
It would be AWESOME for that! Originally made for flipping brother
How's it compare to the tatula SV 70 you've got?

@@TheUltralightLifehow is the metanium distance Wise and what about saltwater
Just so you know the Shimano made the Metanium Shallow Edition is purposely for skipping, but you can do whatever you want to with it's your reel
Tried it with light reaction baits because I had a feeling it would excel. And it did. Thanks for the info and watching brother.
Have you tried the st croix premier?
