Glad I came across your videos, I'm also into ultra light fishing. I use 4 lb. test, my largest fish so far, was a 14.8 lb. carp. I use it now on catfish also. I love loosening that drag and letting them run, nothing like it. Had my line broken a lot trying hybrid bass, when I set the hook they snap that line. You make great videos, God Bless you, (Glen). WV.
Hey Glen nice to meet you, I really enjoy ultralight fishing. I do a little bit of everything but I sure love light line fishing. Growing up, me and my father would try our best to land those big common carp on Shakespeare ultralight combos from Walmart. As you may know, you don’t always win that battle, we were able to get some really nice ones! My dad even got a really nice koi. I will have my drag set super light these days. I lost a 8+ lb hybrid on light line 2 years ago at the boat. Hope you have a great season as the weather gets warmer! Thanks for the kind words and support!
@@TheUltralightLife I'm not sure. I'll be going to North caralina for a few weeks next year so I'll gave to see from there. Florida is definitely on my hit list

Hey I know you didn’t use the iprimi in this video but I had a question about it. How sensitive is the rod? Especially for like jig fishing, I usually use like a 1/16oz & really nothing else tbh. I would like it to be my first “jdm” ul, but I would like to know how sensitive it is. Like is it more sensitive than regular ul in America or are they about the same? Thanks! And Keep up the fishing videos you’re doing great! 🫶
Hey buddy thanks for the kind words. I have some very helpful information on that iprimi. It is not very sensitive at all compared to my other rods. I will be using it for bait fishing, moving bait lures and micro spoons. I took it out to a small pond and used it with a trout magnet, and I wasn’t feeling the lure on the end well compared to any of my pressos. I think for an entry level jdm ultralight rod, the best deal is the major craft finetail is my favorite. I think with the current exchange rate it hovers around 160 before shipping. Make sure it’s not the glass fine tail. They make that version too (im actually interested in it for micro cranks). But for jig fishing. That Finetail would be way better than iprimi xxul 56. I like the USDM presso that I made a video on the best if you really want to be price conscious, for 1/16 jig territory. Jdm rods are cool for sure. But that presso is just an amazing rod and you can find free (or cheaper) shipping in some cases. I like high end rods. And I love that presso. The novelty in the iprimi Xxul is how parabolic it is and the bend with limited resistance, but with that being said it’s sensitivity isn’t there and limits the versatility.
Also. In reference to my jdm unboxing video. My conclusion on the iprimi that I just responded to you about. Is after 7+ times using it. I was able to dissect its pros and cons with more time
@@TheUltralightLife that being said....I threw a 4 inch plastic on the Nomura rod at a snag (trees in the water) and landed a tiny Murray cod (Australia's most iconic native species). It was tiny but was my first ever. So must of been the ultralight rod mojo
Hi! I would like to order this rod but I am from Poland and I have some concerns about the work of this rod. Does this rod have a slow or fast action? Is the action typically slow like most trout area rods or fast and sharp? Looks, weight and deflection is perfect but I need a fast and accurate rod, not a very slow one. I would use it for jigging with small lures near the bottom (about 1.5/2.5 grams of bait). Super channel btw, great work 👌💪
Hey! Thanks for the compliment. This rod has a fast tip, it is perfect for 1/64oz trout magnets. I have a video coming out from this weekend where I caught over 30 fish with it. I just have to edit it and have 4-5 videos ahead of it. This is a great rod for what you want. One of the best choices. I have slow ultralights, this isn’t slow. But what is unique is that it has a very sensitive tip, but parabolic bend when hooked up. Great for fighting fish on light line. I would get this rod no question

Ultralight fishing, best option if you don't have too much time and like to get action almost certainly

Action is fast and sharp, but the rod bends extremely well when a fish is on. Makes it very cool 😎
