Do preppy accept international application for online. We do have hospitals in my country i can do my practicals. I live in the Caribbean. Or maybe i could get a student visa to come over for clinicals Also, where can i do my externship as i do live in the Caribbean

Ive been thinking about a career change myself. Ive been a surgical tech for about 7 years now. Unfortunately, my feet have bad anatomy so i struggle standing 10 hours a day. I also love technology so your career change sounds appealing. if possible can you send me some information on it?

The huge size of some of the instruments is just unbelievable. I mean if you have a hole big enough to fit a couple of the retractors and clamps you could surely just put a couple of fingers if not the whole hand inside and carefully hold, pinch or rip anything you might need without any instruments at all.

I've always wondered why you wouldn't work from elbow to hands because you're literally washing a dirty part with your clean hands. If you work elbow to hands, then all would be clean & not contaminated. 🤔

This is a great news for me! I went to college in Colombia for Surgical Assistant Training. When I came to the US I realized that i had to go to school again which was unfair because I got my degree and i had 10 year of experience in the field. But now I have a hop bc i really did not want to study again from the beginning. Thank you for sharing this information.

you should not be scrubbing with a ring on..also the untied gown is flopping forward when you are leaning over the field and putting your gloves on . I see many OR staff alone in the room setting up a table, un turned and the trailing ties are touching the edges of the field that they are completely unaware of.

I actually work somewhere where we build the disposal parts for heart surgery. It’s so interesting to see the stuff I work with daily in the field!

I am looking forward to Lord willing taking this program. I have been looking into this program on and off for about 10 years.

Disappointing and frankly irresponsible to see a CST supporting Preppy. Is the clinical experience supervised? Is there hands on lab practice time or are you just thrown into the OR after doing some online modules? I think the missing information in this video is what a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program means. Accredited programs must meet minimum requirements like students practicing their skills in the lab and reaching competency before even setting foot in an OR. Then, they must scrub at least 120 cases as a student, supervised by a preceptor. Even with the critical surg tech shortages states are facing, short term online programs are NOT the way to solve the problem!! Can you honestly say you’d be fine having surgery with a medcerts or preppy trained tech in your body? 🤨

Hey, what bootcamp did you use? I was pleasantly surprised to find out you've already taken the career change I was considering! I'm considering data analytics moreso though.

Currently an endoscopic sterile processing tech, and was recently accepted into the new surg tech program, I start may 17th, everything is being paid for but had to sign a 1 year agreement as well, excited for the new challenge
