Lovely to see the Mournes looking so good Jason! Looked like a bit of a wild night and definitely nicer to have been on lower ground 🤗 Those mountains make you work! Hope the knee is doing ok too!! 🤞

"It doesn't look too sexy behind me". From where I'm sitting, your behind looks very sexy.🤤
My home turf, I've enjoyed many a night of peace and quiet in those hills. Its great to see you leaving them better than you found them, it always amazes me that people can carry full bottles, cans etc up but the empties are to much to take down.
Another good camp. Some views there.
Ah Jason was up there recently. Beautiful views from where you camped. I'll catch you somewhere. 😂
Well done Jason another cracking video 👍
What tent do you use nice one
Great video as always.
Fofanny Dam Reservoir - Beautiful location indeed. Behind Spelga Dam
Good pot mod.
In a few years, it will be called the African sea...
🙄 Keep your racism to yourself. No need for that rubbish on here
Fairplay Jason another great video view's all day in the mournes when the weather is good I'm just across the water near the cooley mountains and have a great view over to the mournes you should have called in for a cuppa on your way up , ATB 👏👍
Thss as t is one heck off an impressive wall, was it to keep the savages in or out😁
Well done, Jason, and the other great video. Thanks
Bad knee, eh? Busted mine a bit riding bicycle to work last week...su I fear my mountain hiking this summer might not happen : (
❤ this. watching this getting ready to do the west highland way and the loch ness 360 the 18 this month can't sleep I'm so excited for it 😂😂😂
Brilliant Jason. Great to see you in the Mournes. That must have been some good miles you hiked there, up and down the meels. We done our first camp where you camped there last year. Slieve Bearnagh can be a right pain in the backside to climb. Im hoping to get a summit camp on Bearnagh before the end of the year but if it’s windy at all I’ll drop down, like you say it wouldn’t be worth it. All the best Geoff 👍
I love where these spontaneous decision of yours take you Jason...beautiful country. To anyone with a drop of Irish blood in them...this feels like home. Thanks as always for following your instincts....blustery night and grass in your breakfast... and all. Leaving the place better than you found it...that's our Jason. Best to you with thanks.
Tough walk. Great vid. But the poor basterds who built all that. Musta been killer.
Great video Jason, love watching ❤❤.
Bro is living my dream
How does it get there, when no one’s around?
" We've even been getting a bit of Sun" ha! Cracked me up that did. Respect to those who built that wall, jeez that's some effort eh? Happy camping, ATB. Martin 🙂
The Mournes are class Jason, never get sick of that place. Im still yet to camp there, next on the list!
It’s quite sad to say, but the more people with good intentions to bring happiness to others, by means of videos on the likes of CZcams.. the more the tw#ts will think someone will clear up after them. It’s just the way the broken society of today works.
Looked tough fair play amazing place, never there myself
It's well worth a spin if you get a chance. It's beautiful
Good man Jason, those are steep hills, the Mourne Mountains make you work hard!
They definitely get the heart going, Binnian was no joke that first time I was there. It's beautiful up there, I have an idea of where I'll go the next time already 😉
@@RamblingOn there's lots to do up there, very compact mountain range
Thanks for the great videos Jason. My homemade food cosy weighs 25 gms and has a temperature drop of 7C over 10 minutes
Nothing wrong with that, happy days 🙌
How do you remove the internal framing?
You can't it's built-in as far as I know
Where do you get the mres?
I got mine off ebay, search for US MRE menu 1-12 and you'll find a few sellers
@@RamblingOn thank you
Think this is big enough for a wild camp with the method of putting the tent in the top lid where the straps are??
It depends on the gear you have. For example, if you have a synthetic sleeping bag instead of a down bag the pack size is going to be double. The bottom section is actually a way to expand the pack instead of being a separate compartment, an error I made. I've used this for wild camps and putting the tent on top would save space inside the pack so it is possible.
@RamblingOn Thanks for the reply, and for the beautifully shot informative video! Truth be told I'm also in the market for a sleeping bag (or quilt) as well as a pack and need to make sure I get a sleep system that packs down small. I've got a lightweight tent and sleeping pad already but I've been using a cheap sleeping bag and just carrying in a side bag but I've got some longer hikes coming up so need a better system!
@muso4432 if you're doing bigger hikes you might wat to consider a pack with a hip belt. It will just help to take some of the weight off your back. I'm not sure if this video might help you out czcams.com/video/yXbEckDMSpY/video.htmlsi=JPi_0t2KX3SwghZk
I'm hoping to have my Lanshan 2 delivered tomorrow 🤞 I'm trying to decide between using an o ring and a line tensioner Vs what you've done with the knots. What are your guylines made out of and what is their diameter?
Any 2mm guyline will do the job, check out some reviews and see which ones take a knot. This line is great for holding a knot, it's recommended by a lot of bushcrafters too amzn.to/4eA8iZX
@@RamblingOn awesome thanks 👍
Great video only just found your Channel I'm thrilled to be following you now, And to see how your cope with all the rain next time no packet food start cooking ha ha
Lovely video. Makes me wanna pack up and go camp out immediately
I sometimes burn sandlewood insence to discourage the bugs.
Where are you buying the ration packs?
I got them off ebay from a chap in Germany, there's a few sellers on ebay so they're not hard to get. Just the postage is a bit steep due to the weight
Nice one Jason, enjoyed the vid. I'd be interested to know what carbon pegs you're using and how you've found them?
The pegs came with the tent, very unusual to have decent pegs supplied like that. If you check out Hill-Zero's site they might sell them separately but I'm not sure
@@RamblingOn Ah OK, I'll have a look on their site, thanks
Try some insense sticks my friend for the little flying things
I'm definitely going to give them a go next time 🙌
What a beautiful place. Interesting channel. Subscribed.
Thank you for subscribing, I hope you enjoy the videos 🍀
I believe they preferred to be called "little flies".
🤣
Paul, I can believe you assumed their pronouns!
Great video as always Jason. Get the snickers into ya 🤣🤣🤣
What quilt are you using Jason?
It is a Hyberg Loner 350

top tip for bugs avon so soft moisturiser with citronella works a treat mate, also norwegian summer balm it smells like smoke
Thanks a mill I'll have a gander at those 👍
I've seen Stephen Reid using citronella tea lights in the porch of his tent and swears by it.
I'll be giving them a go 💪
Awe lad.. spent four nights in a woods in Limerick over the June bank holiday. It's now two weeks on and the lumps and bumps on the back of my head from the midge bites are just starting to go down. I'm beginning to think the sea is where I need to be in summer. The feckers bit me in places I didn't know existed. 😂
You lasted four nights... You are a better man than me 😄
@RamblingOn Never again! I'll keep the woods for the winter. I used a midge spray and it was like opening a free bar for alcoholics ... they were all over it like a rash 😅🤣
I use a few things to combat midgies. Burn two incense sticks either side of your camp. They'll buy you some time and peace. Light large Limoncillo candles (not the tea candle size - they're not worth a fuck) Use the bug repellent wipes to wipe all exposed skin. Then use a repellent spray (spray the top of your top and your tent to keep them out of there). Have an "afterbite" pen handy if you do get bit. Also a smoky fire will do the job, but if its too early in the day for the fire just get a small wee one going. Hope this helps.
Thanks a mill, I'm definitely going to try the candles and be smarter about where I camp. Alongside a river in an enclosed forest was not a good idea
@@RamblingOn Do try the incense sticks too. They are quite effective but be sure to stand them up vertically (they'll last longer). One either side if the site should give you enough coverage. Also roll down your sleeves hahaha. Dont wear a hoody as they'll only get caught up in the hood part and then there's no getting rid of them. Yeah you should be able to get a few of the large ones in those pound shops now all over the place.
Small piles of used, dry coffee grounds surrounding your camp. It smoulders slowly for ages and they hate the smell+smoke
