I am sorry to hear of the week's torment for you Jason. Please know how much we all appreciate you and all that you graciously provide for us with these videos. Praying for better days to come for you dear friend. I have taken to enjoying a cup of tea and a couple biscuits with you as I chill back and enjoy your camping excursions. With thanks always...
Thanks a mill Joe, there's nothing like sitting alone on top of a mountain to help clear your mind. It did me the world of good, delighted to hear that you've taken to enjoying a cup of tea while you join me on my adventures. I'm only getting started, take her handy 👍
Misty mountain morning - magical, even if vista is obscured
Sorry to hear you had a bad week but great you got out. Keeps you going being up the hills for a camp
100% the experience helps you through the next few days
I'm like you I peg out everything. Irish weather is sometimes unpredictable, 4 seasons in one day. ☀️🌧️❄️💨
Great camp man. Nothing better on the mountain than having some lights to look at. I remember one camp where I could see the motor way and sat down watching the cars spin by from a distance. Great camp man. Delighted you got out and it's odd to see you with a coffee. The tea in your bag is saying WTF.😂
It's nice when you get a clear night and you can just see for miles. I do find it odd having coffee but it's a nice treat for the morning, I'll have to get the kettle on earlier next time so I can have a tea and a coffee 😄
Hope your good Jason, sorry to hear you had a bad week. Your videos are very much a comedy show as well as a camping trip. I always laugh at you. Keep it up.
Seamus
Cheers Seamus, I'm only getting started. Hopefully as I travel around Ireland we can see some new places and have a laugh too. I never know what's going to happen on a camp which is the best part. Take her handy 🍀
Jason, a pretty cool spot to take it handy, watch the clouds go slowly by and just be👍 10pm is a good time to have your dinner out on the hill😊
Better late than never 😄 Summer nights, stay up late and get up early. My dinner could almost be counted as breakfast
Love it! ❤
Nice getaway!
Great video, just recovering from surgery myself, can't wait to get bk out but your videos are keeping me entertained until then. Great work keep it up
I hope your recovery goes well and you can get out and about soon. Take her handy and thanks for watching 🍀
Heresy! Everyone knows that Yellow Snacks are the best. You've let the side down there! I have the XMid Solid 2P and I peg every nook and cranny. I also added 4 xtra guylines. Like u, I don't want to be getting up in the night. Nice video. Regards, Wadi
The Yellow snack is a great runner up, I wouldn't say no to a Yellow Snack bar but I do prefer the purple. The pink one... You'd be better off with a Time Out 😄 The peace of mind alone is work taking a few minutes to properly guy out the tent. Cheers for watching Wadi 👍🍀
Totally with you on the pegs thing. I'm always going to bring all the pegs and guys the tent will need, because I don't want to be caught out if the weather turns bad (which is a distinct possibility at altitude). And if I've brought the pegs and guys then why wouldn't I spend a couple of extra minutes pegging them out? I mean, what else am I going to be doing? At the very least it'll make the tent a wee bit less flappy, and give me a bit of extra interior space, for the sake of, what, 80 grams and a couple of minutes?
Peace of mind and a more restful sleep, two things not to be taken for granted on a camp. It makes a world of difference👍
Great video, love to watch others doing what I can only do once a month these days. I have a xmid solid 2 and take 16pegs lol, usually use most of them as I find the extra guy lines help keep that separation between inner and fly even is it’s not strictly needed. Takes a few extra mins and avoids those wee hour panics…..
There's no harm in playing it safe, least then you can relax when the weather is kicking off.
Thx Jason
Mighty Jason. Always nice just to get out in the tent. I’ve often wondered that about tent pegs and why people don’t just use them all, if I get 18 pegs all 18 are going into the ground.
Most of what I saw was people bringing less and less pegs to try save weight, just madness 😄
Nice spot ted
That tent looks 🤌🏼
Nice night for it Jason.
Wasn't too bad at all 😁
Great video, love watching ❤❤
Thank you as always for joining me 🍀
Thanks Jason another brilliant camp 👍
Brilliant video. Sorry you had a tough week. If it's any consolation your videos make our weeks better. Sorry you got beef... nightmare! You and raisins not friends then?
The videos make my week better too, I like piecing them together and once they are uploaded I get back in touch with everyone which is class. I wouldn't be a fan of raisins, I've just never liked them 😄
Great that you were able to get out and use the outdoors to sort out the noggin. Really enjoy your videos. Always cracking a joke and smiling. Hope you can use that to get through the tough days and weeks. Tent looks brilliant and yes you are getting fancy with your latte and choc biscuits. 😊😊
😄 If I ever start to carry a coffee grinder and all that I'll know it's gone too far. This camp definitely helped me through a tough few days, I can't wait to get back out again. Cheers for joining me, all the best for the week ahead 👍
Damn jealous now , need more of this trips from you. Keep them coming
Thanks a mill 🍀
I always peg out every guy line and loop... it makes sense, you can never be sure about the weather, especially when you're up high...
Better safe than sorry
Hi Jason you just remember how Amazing you are you're the best ❤
Love your videos Jason, nice and chilled plus your great sense of humour. You've got a great game of "ration pack roulette " going on there aswell! 😂 Sorry to hear you've had a shitty week, but there's nothing like a wild camp to help sort things out 😊 Totally agree with you about the guy lines by the way. You never know for sure if the weather's going to change overnight, just not worth the risk in my book, and it's no big deal to peg them all out when pitching. Nice to see you out, all the best mate👍
Cheers Sean, I'd love to be able to piece together my own ration pack with elements of each. I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest have to offer, hopefully chicken at some point 🤞 Thanks a mill for joining me, have a good one 🍀
Nice, easy, enjoyable and real watching. Can you recommend where to buy the MRE's from?
Unfortunately I can't, I had some trouble with the seller so I can't recommend them. I bought mine on ebay and there are other sellers on ebay so it would be worth a look. If I find a seller that I could rely on I'll definitely share it because the ration packs are class. Thank you for becoming a member 🙌
@@RamblingOn The MRE lottery is a joy to behold 🤣
Hey gents, my 3rd attempt to comment now, as keeps disappearing...!??🤯
I got a 10x24hr UK ration-pack bulk-box a few months ago, from MRE-UK... Has different menus, meals, snacks, drinks, etc, all with good dates... I've still got 8 left & I think they were really good value...👍
I've no idea why your comment was disappearing 🤔 If you inlcude links they are automatically held for review. I have it set like that to avoid dodgy links from spammers trying to scam people popping up in the comments section.
I'll definitely check out MRE UK, only issue here is customs. Hopefully Ross has better luck 🤞 Cheers Kev
@@RamblingOn 🤔...Customs...? Says Mainland UK, delivery by R/mail or P/Force & I believe that R/mail is supposed to include N/Ireland, England, Wales & Scotland...? But I don't know what the crack is for S/Ireland...!?? 10bags were 18kg, how much is postage, I'll send U a box...!😄👍
Great little overnighter. Glad the MRE worked out a bit better this time. I have begun making my own dehydrated meals...first one being spaghetti bolognese! Too funny.
🤣 I actually miss the simplicity of my dehydrated meals. I have ten or more in the fridge that I made maybe 10 months ago 😄 Enjoy your bolognese 🍀
Below Lough Diheen under Galtymore was it Jason, you got a good sunset. Hope it sorted the head a bit. All the best.
It got the noggin straightened out for a bit anyway 🙂
Good guess by the way 🫡
@@RamblingOn ha ha, I have seen that sunset from Galtymore looking across towards Limerick/Shannon many times over the years.
First thing I did was add extra gyylines and change the pegs on my xmid. The guys are there for a reason😂
Ii find it easier to pitch the fly first and then put the inner in rather than all in one. My main peeve is the size of the pitch that is needed but I wouldnt swap my xmid.
The supplied pegs are not good. Considering how much a trekking pole tent relies on the pegs I reckon they should be much better. I agree, having to find such a large pitch for a one person tent is a pain. I've often pitched it on wonky ground 😄
Another great video Jason. I was at that same spot myself last summer. What kind of lanterns are they?
It's a lovely spot. I'd love to see it in the snow. The lantern inside is a naturehike blackdog lantern and the one outside is a led lenser 40.. not exactly sure. The led lenser is pricey, but I needed one that had less glare for the cameras
@@RamblingOn It was worth the money. It’s looks fantastic on the video. Your lighting set up is better than anything else I’m seeing on CZcams.
@movieshrink2878 thanks for saying that, I put a fair bit of thought into it and carry way too much camera gear 😄
Lovely upload as always. I am wondering can you tell me where is the best option for buying a Durston X-mid? Getting worried about myself, I don't need a Durston X-mid, i just want one. I already have too many tents.
I've started to slim down on my gear because of the same issue 😄 I did a quick google search and found a stockist in Europe. It might save you having to buy direct from the US, here is a link www.outdoorline.sk/en/tents/durston-x-mid-1-solid?search_query=durston&results=13
@RamblingOn Thank you for taking the time to do that. I think it's best i forget about it for now. I already have two 3 season tents. I should try and use them. They are seam taped, i have taken a disliking to seam tape as i believe it breaks down over time and starts to come off.... can't be forking out hundreds of euros for tents used occasionally whilst the seam tape gradually wears away sitting on a shelf at home. Thanks again and i hope your back is doing good.
I learnt the hard way about guying out before going to bed and got a pole up through my xmid😢
What mountain range were you on?
😮😨 I'd say you were gutted, hopefully it was repairable. This was up in the Galtee Mountains
New subscriber, enjoying your videos, I'm about to start trying a 30L backpack as well. Can i ask you what your camera setup is?
Yep no worries, my main camera is a Sony A6400 with a Tamron 17-70 and my second camera is an Osmo action 4
@RamblingOn
Cool, thank you. Keep on keeping on, you're doing a great job on your videos!
@@IronSights-qw1xl thanks a mill. Take her handy 🍀
