Hi Olia, your salad looked out-of-this-world delicious, could you let us know the recipe for the salad dressing you used? Thank you!
Hi! Thank you for your kind words. Here's the recipe for that dressing: ¼ cup olive oil 3 tablespoons lemon juice 1 clove garlic ½ teaspoon dried oregano ½ teaspoon sugar ¼ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon ground pepper And in case you need the full recipe, here are the other ingredients: red onion, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, baby spinach (in the video I replaced it with arugula), shredded cooked chicken, pepperoncini, crumbled feta cheese, sunflower seeds. Enjoy!
Lived there for three years Never going back Extreme xenophobic selective pro german society. Working atmosphere is no communicatio, harassment, double standard based on nationality They not more trustworthy than russians Extremly desappointing experience. Been in different places around world, on a 10 it worth 0 Weather is not the biggest problem Lack of social interaction, talk to you only when they drunk, no behavior or respect or your background and education, except for germans. Absolutly suggest to avois this country and never return

Great work. Some sights, diy activities, cozy fun.

I didn't know it was common to work on the timber lot where you buy your wood. I guess, in the city, with small apartments, that's a common need? I was looking at my wall map and noticed how much more south much of North America is located compared to most all of Europe. Places like New York City and Philadelphia would be considered very warm places and then I saw that my hometown, Atlanta, is equivalent to S. Spain as I recall. Then there is another 800 miles south to the bottom of Fla and south Texas is further south than that. It hit home how lucky living in the US we have been. Of course, it was a tragedy, how we wiped out the history and culture of our equivalent to the Sami's all throughout the New World. I noted the Siberian traverse one must mostly go if one was not going to tackle the oceans to reach North America and what looked to be about 2000 land miles east of extremely cold navigating and that this likely caused the intellectual separation of Europe - Asia from North and South America. I think of the advanced cultures found around Mexico city where all they lacked were the professional paid hunters and ammunition and weapon discoveries the west had made to have kept alive their region dominance. Most "progress" came from the invention of central banking and the corporate model which then allowed vast accumulations of wealth to be invested in projects with no immediate chance of success. Those with great wealth could entice the talented but here to fore little used intellectual resource of Europe and Asia in order to tackle projects they would never have had time to do before, because they were now making a living wage to spend hours on their previous hobbies and creative thoughts were seeded and became physical where "getting by" dominated before. But really, up till 1600, the advantages technically in the Europe Asia area were pretty slight. Of course, when our "Samis" were conquered, they were devastated by European diseases and lost 90% of their population, a mostly unintentional, but nevertheless real "holocaust". Anyway, those are my theories and I am sticking to them for now. It's seems all your videos take me to places in my mind that I don't contemplate on the day to day and thanks for that. Oh to be 40 years younger, I'd be in Finland but perhaps not in Helsinki but a little more in the country. You'll be worrying about "black flies?" in a month or so Cheers What I like about Finland is that it seems that your leaders really want to help their people. We have clearly lost our way in the west and instead of having leaders that build up their citizenry, they seem to contemplate ways to consider us irrelevant and a nuisance as they put all their focus on controlling you all over there and I think it shall get worse before it gets better. Sorry about that final bleak thought Happy sawing~!

I've been watching videos and reading articles non stop. I got a bunch of seeds. Put them in the fridge for a month. Planted into potting mix. Done everything and two months no germination. When I drive around Perth's countryside I see the baby pines growing up out of the worst sandy soil and think wtf seriously? You come up everywhere naturally except my seedling containers! I will try this method by covering it with film. Thank you
Why do I almost always cry watching your videos? 😭 They make me feel such a peace... 🤍 I'm keen on learning Finnish and going to Finland some day... my wife also loves the idea. Maybe that's what makes me cry. Imagining it all happening gives me so much joy. Thank you for these calming and very, very lovely videos about Finland and your lives there. 💙
I heard a quote recently that I just love: ‘The reason why you want it so badly is because your future self already has it and you know how good it feels to have it.’ I really hope that one day that dream becomes a reality for you and your wife. Thank you so much for your beautiful words about my videos 💙

Hello friend 👋😊.... your so Beautiful 🥰😍💖... Iam from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳.... You love india?
India is too friendly with russia...👎
Congratulations from a Swedish neighbour ! You were really fortunate when you boldly took a step into the unknown and it turned out to be Finland. All the Nordic countries are great but Finland is the most admirable of them. Finland used to be the eastern part part of Sweden until the days of Napoleon and was badly missed when it was lost in war to the Russians. Finland is now the first free country that managed to stand up successfully against the big eastern neighbour and hopefully Ucraine will turn up to be the sacond one. You made the perfect move.
I couldn't agree more about the beauty and resilience of Finland. Its history and journey to independence is truly inspiring and remarkable. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to live my life here. Thank you so much for the congratulations and for the support. It truly means so much!!

Hi olia, is very hard to find a job in Finland if don’t know Finnish?
Well, it is possible. It depends on your background or the field you want to work in. I can only speak about the IT field here, as that's what I’m familiar with. There’re many international companies that are ready to hire non-Finnish speaking foreigners. Your skills and experience are more important in this case.
@@lifebyolia yes, I’m working in IT about IT support and system management. Also I got security+ and self-learning about CyberSecurity. But I ‘m worry about hardly to find a job that’s because I have no exp on this field .
You are truly a happy person, Olia, because you see beauty all around you.
Thank to this video of your, have we decided to visit Hanko this summer. My wife and children have never been there and I was there for a quick visit when I was young, but vant really remember. Thanks 🙏
That's wonderful to hear! Hanko is a beautiful destination for a summer trip. Wishing you a great time there with your family 😊
Can you help me please how to move in Finland
Congratulations!! Actually I'm gonna stay in Finland, possibly near in Helsinki for a year. How did you find your apartment? Any tips?:)
Thank you!😊 These two websites helped us find our apartment: www.vuokraovi.com/ and asunnot.oikotie.fi/ A tip from me: the public transportation system here is great, so you don’t necessarily need to rent close to your place of work/study. You can even check out nearby cities Espoo and Vantaa, they’re pretty close, and it should be cheaper there. But if you prefer more of a city vibe, then of course, Helsinki is a better option. Wishing you a happy stay in Finland!
Aw thank you so much your kind message! I will check it out Espoo and Vantaa too! Kiitos!!

This is a negative thing that is difficult to spot quickly and should be known by any foreigner settling in Finland. In Finland there is a unique bullying culture. Bullying occurs everywhere, but in Finland it is an institution with special qualities. Bullying takes place in schools, the workplace, churches, and in any social grouping such as registered societies and sport clubs. When it does take place, and this is the unique feature, the victim of bullying is always blamed by everyone. In schools, the teachers blame the victim and stand up for the bully. They deny that bullying takes place in specific, although they may admit it in general or outside their circle. In the workplace, the same occurs. The bully is glorified, the victim universally chastised. In other countries, there are always defenders, sometimes few, but at least enough to diminish the problem. Furthermore, in other places, persons of authority do not always defend bullies. I have seen this repeatedly over decades and it is always the same. People may privately disapprove, but in public they always meet bullying with silence or support the bully. They have just elected a president who was an acknowledged bully in school and such people tend to do so later in life as well. Finns who are bullied often leave the country or commit suicide, which is the major reason for high suicide rates in Finland. Now a foreigner is not really likely to be the victim of bullying, although it can occur. But it is vital to know what kind of society you are entering.
Thanks for helping us to know wei Finland, the happiest citizens in globe .we appreciate their culture if kindness
