These videos are the best. I enjoy the painting and the sanding videos, but the rant videos are gold!

There is a local restorer here, very well known and really a good guy, but if you start doing restorations for others he will not help you. I find that sad. There are more than enough jobs to go around. This individual has at least a 1 year backlog. That backlog isn't going to get any shorter. So what happens these people who want a restored machine will find joe blow to do it and you end up with crap. Or they try to do it themselves and it ends up like crap. I believe in sharing knowledge and like you said we aren't going to get to your level. Not in any amount of time that matters and what is more is reputation. People come to Chris because Chris has a reputation of being one of if not the very best.

On the topic of The Shadow. Because I too can have an opinion. 🤣 If it's not a grind for you Chris, put it up there. Yeah you did it already, but look at it from this perspective. This time around you might capture it better, or capture things differently, or capture something you didn't the first time or 10th time around. I don't care if you show 100 TZ rebuilds. It's still interesting, just stagger them out some.

I was so glad I took the ten hour drive one way to drop off my Bally Silverball Mania for your detailed expert work! After three years it plays and looks like the day I unwrapped it ! Hope you control those led with an arduino and make them flash like a vu meter. There are lots of very easy projects like that. You could even chose a colors scheme to get rid of the rainbow colors. Besides that, great project.

Not a big fan of rgb lights but in this set up it looks great!

Nice work , I literally just made my back box metal last weekend . I was lucky enough to have a set of the 45 degree corners because last restore I made an extra set when I had access to sheet metal brake . Really looking nice man !

What size and type of screw do you use on the side rails ? I hate putting the nails back in , no matter how careful you are they always put a dimple in the stainless.

I have the same stapler for doing ground braid , works awesome. Especially on playfields when you need to sneak it in between things . Machines are looking awesome!

Who’s pop bumper lights are those?

Both are great. I’d go for an OG game with upgraded lights, back-glass, etc. That music on the modded version threw me off. Regardless, master craftsmanship here!

I used to look out for these on eBay going back over the past 20 odd years... You used to be able to pick them up for about $2k - $4k Australian... But I haven't seen one now for a few years. Guess they're all disappearing.

I'm late to this party, I saw the video earlier, but have been to busy to watch until now. Which do I like more? I like them both. They are very different looking machines so I find it hard to choose. I do like the brighter lighting on the modded game because my eyes are not as good as they once were. Consider this. If these pins were not side by side and you saw them just on their own what would you see to complain about? Not one damn thing. Both are perfect in their own way. And I didn't see that wooden doll anywhere. I was hoping we could put a 🔥torch 🔥to it in the back yard. No offense to the owner, I was hoping he'd join in the fun. We mean no harm by it. Just some fun. Ultimately both clients are ending up with something that I think will exceed their expectations. And Chris quit saying your pinball game is shabby. You are full of 💩 man! 🤣

Twilight zone is such a great game , there’s a reason they command such a high price . I have pinsound on my TZ but opted to stay with the original music . It’s just one of those games that I think the original music is the way to go . Nice work on those two beautiful machines . Time to ship them out to their new homes !

Great to see them side by side. I do prefer the modded one but without the pin sound. I’m not a fan of changing the audio. Great work. Both owners are going to be very happy.

Once I started collecting my own machines it became very difficult to enjoy gameplay on location. The widespread neglect and lack of attention to detail, nobody even takes the time properly pitch and level a game before turning it on to eat quarters. I bet it drives you crazy to see a rundown machine out in public, ya know the ones with the dirt so thick on the playfield that the inserts are barely translucent anymore! 😂

Never thought I would say this, but I am digging the modded one.

I’m not familiar with versions of code/roms for twilight zone. But the sound/music is way different on the “mod” version. Is that a special rom chip mod? I’d prefer the music from the original myself and some mods. Like the color dmd etc.

Is that a shadow in the background? I would like to see a restore series on that!

How many left over GLM hidden switch sets do you have? The last set I had I installed on a clients machine over 5 years ago.

A few people have contacted me to tell me how great it looks. That’s nice to hear even if it’s not my style.

Some of the mods are pretty bad . If it’s just a piece of plastic that doesn’t interact with the game then it’s not for me . Which wipes out about 75% of mods . I don’t mind some of the well thought out well built ones but the useless toys are just that !

The back of the playfield on a TZ seems packed even without mods. It's a learning experience to see how you handle fitting everything.

Did you place mylar over the playfield to protect that beautiful art?

I was just shy of 10 years old when 'Aloha From Hawaii' was broadcast in the US. Still to this day I remember sitting in our living room chair with my double-LP in my lap, watching arguably the greatest entertainer of all time do what he did best.
