The slingshot brackets have cracked after only a few hundred plays on my Mirco TOM playfield due to incorrectly placed dimples... I feel your pain! Thank you for emphasizing these issues. Hopefully change will come soon, which is the result we all want and deserve!

Nah, Mirco and CPR have been running playfields for years and years with these issues. I doubt they'll change. We just have to understand it and move on. They provide a great service, but there is room for improvements. Steve is supposed to start making playfields. If true and it comes through that will be great news for pinball as a whole, but I don't expect Steven or there others to step on each others toes.

On the tubing for those looking to emulate or look at options. I use clear heat shrink tubing. For starters get a variety set and find what you like the best. Then buy more of the sizes that work for you. I also hit it with a heat gun, this keeps it from moving around and cleans it up. Pick what works for you.

Clear shrink tubing is a fine option.
I personally like the reusable nature of regular clear tubing because it is more likely that someone later down the road will continue on with it.
With shrink tubing you have to cut it away and the probability someone will replace it with the same or if at all is low.
In my eyes one is permanent the other is temporary. That’s not a knock on the choice it’s an observation and conclusion I have come to over the years.
You will need to have a zip tie pattern in place to keep the tubing in place where it fits loosely.

Chris your words of advice on the Memorex PF where ringing true for us as we assembled a CPR playfield which fought us tooth and nail for the same reasons. The top registrations were about 98% accurate. The bottom registrations were like 5% accurate. I mean why bother? Either fix the flipping CAD drawing or save the step of putting them on and drop the prices. That said at least CPR worked with us. I've not worked with Memorex so I don't know how their customer support is. Anyone? At any rate we got it together, we just had to take the time and pay attention to the details (which is part of my innate character good and bad) and the game played great.

The biggest problem with the dimpling issue is when they are “almost right”. That is worse than way off or completely missing because the screws will so easily drift into those “almost right “ dimples it becomes a massive fight on each and every part.
