I feel like 50% weekly is a bit too much and not often enough. Whenever I set up a new aquarium i always do 20% water changes daily until there are no nitrites then 20% water changes weekly to maintain nitrates at a low level. Then once nitrates get rlly low, like barely any nitrates present then i do monthly water changes.

I think hoarding fish should be looked down on like dog hoarding. Bettas aren't meant to live in tiny squares 🙄 If you can't give every single animal the absolute bare minimum especially space wise, then you have way too many animals, even if they are just wee fish.....imagine having 600 dogs but each dog lives in a 4ft cage.....there's no difference....

Heyy, I know this vid was 2 years ago, but I'm planning on adopting a Betta. I want to save one of the poor lethargic little guys from petco and give him a better life. Do you recommend anything for switching them out of the old pet store water and into the new? Is it possible to shock them or is it best to just put him right in there?
