Where is the roll over switch wires
Don't need em' ... I'm just not going to roll over ...
Late, but you needed to pull the subframe to get the air box out.
Thanks! ... I'm still in the garage trying to get that damn thing out! Now I can finally sleep ... lol
What is the stud with blue tip on the left case?
Never mind i found the info for the special stud
@@user-fs7oz3gn8g glad you found your info ... I just a rubber sleeve over it to protect the threads while I'm building it ...
Where can I get those diagrams?
I just printed out pages from the yfz450 service manual pdf ... search google, and I had to use 2 manuals, 1) is the 2004 YFZ450 service manual and 2) is the 2006 YFZ450 Supplemental Manual

Hey man I know this was posted forever ago I didn't offset my fiber disk so I know that's not right but other than that I'm almost positive I did everything right... but now after I changed my clutch I onky have 2nd gear and neutral now.. any idea what it could be could the fiber plate being off seriously cause that much of a issue? Bike won't shift when it's off either cases have never been split so I just don't understand how it could have got messed up... thanks in advanced..
I can't really help you without being there, but it sounds more like transmission/shift-linkage problem more than a clutch problem ...
The pistons are in backwards
no, they are not ... if they were in the other way they would have to fill up with brake fluid before they pushed out ... look up trx450r front brake calipers on Google images and tell me which way the pistons are facing ...

I may have a project in line but the temperature here in Phoenix must drop before I get started ... planning on swapping the bottom ends on a gen1 400ex to gen2 with reverse and everything else that's needed (cdi, cable, brackets, ignition, etc.) to put reverse on a gen 1 bug eye 400ex

Hello, I'm putting a 1979-1981 XL185S cam or a xr200r cam in my 1985 200x. I'm gonna put a 26mm nibbi carb because it seems like everywhere I read people are saying anything bigger and its giving you less performance. I already have a after market answer product full exhaust that is much bigger than stock in tube diameter. given that I'm putting a cam that has a little more lift, would you happen to know the stock valve spring pounds are on the 200x? just tryna have an idea of how stiff I need the new ones. any help is and will be appreciated!
no idea ... try to find a 1st gen 200x service manual pdf to download

This YFZ450 is done and sold ... this is the last video of this machine - 36:03 - Build Complete
I did just buy a 2004 400ex bug eye with the 2nd gear out ... I have a 2013 crankcase and a 2008 transmission with reverse that I am planning on swapping the bottom end and putting reverse on a bug eye model ... need a few things like CDI, ignition, reverse cable and bracket and I need to find a way to mount the reverse switch ... I may video that process, but first the temperature needs to drop here in the desert ...
@@11GalleryATV oh that would be a cool mod considering I have a 99 myself, reverse would be super nice.
Were you get that adapter ? One I got worked for 2 mins and blew the lights
So I'm having trouble getting the wave washers on the exhaust ports sub rockers to crush into there. Looks like there is still a small gap between the washer and arm. On the intake side it crushed right in there and looks flush. Also the wave washers goes on the far side of the bolt head on the intake and the near side of the bolt head exhaust side correct?
@11 Gallery Atv
@11 Gallery ATV
That is correct ... bolt thread side for exhaust, and the far side for the intake, just after the shaft goes all the way through the rocker and just before the shaft goes through the inner hole ... exhaust side is easy and the intake side needs a little patience and finesse ... feed the shaft through the rocker and then right before the shaft goes into the hole plunk a wave washer in there ... just like i did in the video ... i just watched it, i made it look pretty easy :)
you can download the 2005-2009 service manual pdf here - trx400ex.com/service-manuals/ - the wave washer location diagram is on page 8-25 in the CYLINDER HEAD/VALVE section
@11GalleryATV you did make it look easy haha I got a bit frustrated and took a break for the day I'll get back at it tomorrow. I was able to get one of them together but it doesn't look right wish I could upload a Pic on here. I appreciate you responding thank you.
You’re awesome man thanks for the knowledge
you're welcome and thanks!
thats a sealed bearing and nothing in the lower section needs grease.
Would be cool if you could sell that house or fill in the pool to make more driving room, and get something on a piece of land (5 acers or more) along with a fully equipped ATV shop. your skills and videos are totally awesome.
maybe when I retire ...
Getting ready to rip into my ‘05, and do a bottom-up rebuild. Definitely going to come in handy to have access to the documented hell you went through. Thanks, and congrats!
No problem ... wasn't that bad though ... I like the hell that engine building puts me through!
When I go to tighten and torque them, the sub rockers get super tight and don't move freely... main rockers move
maybe you forgot the little wave washers?
Seriously thank you for these two videos. Shit.

Very nice build
Thank you sir!
All I had during Covid was wallyworld Equate Hand Sanitizer.... works great for graphics and handlebar grips
I found that I work better just putting them on dry with heat ... I'm too impatient to squeegee out all that fluid ...
@11GalleryATV you do them all the time. If I did it dry it would come out crooked as a snake 🐍 🤣 with it wet I can move it around
thank you these videos helped a lot. I have my tool mine apart and put it back together like 4 times now because i can’t get my trans to shift right. Any recommendations?
Помоему он собирает двигатель не с той половинки. По этому подкарашивал метки. По томучто они с другой стороны и невидно))). Не рекомендую это видео принимать в всерьёз. Но, стало интересно посмотреть чем все кончится...
I like the way you made it blend in with the plastics, nice job 👍😎💯🔥💪
yup, I'm happy with the way the graphics turned out ... thanks!
This is the only video on the Internet that mentions a rear master cylinder
The rest of the 400x build is also videoed ...
BOOOOM love this guy so far
Thank you kind sir ...
How is that head holding up?
It's noisy (tick-tick-tick) but it works, i guess ... I would not buy anymore Chinesium parts ever again ... I have since removed all (cylinder, piston, crank) and went to OEM ... cam, head, and head guts are the only cheap shiznitty things left
@@11GalleryATV oh dang. Lots of people use the big bore kits
Do you know if grinding the powder coat from the motor mounts is necessary on a 2013 model? 10:54
Probably not necessary at all ... I just recently repainted my motor mounts black, instead of that dumbass gold, and I did not grind them this time, and everything works just fine ...
@11GalleryATV Thanks man. This video series has been extremely helpful. Just about to finish up with my build.
@@Coff1nF1LL3r Thanks! Glad to hear that!
Turn pipe wrench and channel locks the other way you using them backwards!
Great video, hows the niche cylinder holding up
Yeah yeah save me a few hundred bucks
Cool
Excellent videos you have done, which leads me to asking you about the two identical o-rings you mentioned in part 13 that are no longer manufactured, but you found on Amazon. One is on the axle by the sprocket and the second o-ring that goes into the brake rotor holder. On the assembly drawings this is shown as a 35x1.7mm. For what I have found, no one makes a 1.7mm, so I assume you used the 1.5mm? Also, is the 35mm the OD measurement for Honda? Thanks so much for all the detail work. It has helped me a tremendous amount in bringing up my 1986 200x from high school back up to almost new.
I just looked up my Amazon order and it looks like I actually bought 2 sizes of 35mm but I don't remember which one actually fit ... Here are the 2 that I purchased: amzn.to/444QBNr amzn.to/3U8deMb
@@11GalleryATV Wow, thanks for quick reply. I think I'll try the 1.5mm.
This really helped a dad out who took his kids brakes apart months ago... drunk...and forgot how to put them back together 😂
Glad to be of service ... and I can relate ...
Man your videos helped me out with my 86200x so much. Really appreciate it 👍🏻
Thanks, man ... glad I could help!
Beautiful bike man, i have to know what bars are those 🙏🏻
They are Pro Taper Metal Mulisha 1 1/8 ... here is the video at the timestamp where I installed the bars and risers/1 1/8 converters - czcams.com/video/E3K6yc31Ug8/video.htmlsi=UCML55L-rZFMi8kN&t=3057
Hey bud, Were can i buy the parts to restore my YFZ450 SE 2008?
The internet
Nice work man! 👍🍻
Thanks! Much appreciated ...
You should invest in an ultrasonic cleaner if you encounter more dirty carbs it makes it effortless
I have an ultrasonic cleaner ... and yes, easy, breezy, cover ... no wait! ... easy, peasy, yeah that's better!
I’m waiting for you to do something like a TRX250R or an old LT250R. Let’s see some 2-smokers
I really don't have too much desire for that kind of power delivery at this age ... I really like the lazy power of the 4 stroke ... I think the 400ex is the sweet spot ... even the YFZ450 makes my muscles sore ...
@@11GalleryATV well, a bone stock TRX250R, like something that was restored to complete bone stock OEM condition only has slightly more power than a 400EX. The TRX250R has 34 hp and the 400Ex has 28. That YFZ pushed 40, maybe a little more. With that exhaust in there even a little more than that because the YFZ is super choked up on stock form. Of course that is going to make your muscles sore. The LT250R makes a little less than the TRX250R as well, but I still understand because a 2-stroke’s power does punch when it comes on. I just like your videos because you go slow, are very clear at explaining, and you make sure it’s easy to understand. Makes it easy to reference your videos when you need to fix, repair, or build something… and for a bonus, you’re also entertaining to me 🤷🏼♂️😂
@@11GalleryATV I am thinking about going in a different direction with my daughter’s race quads though. I have 3 Yamaha blasters for them, but I’m thinking about changing her over to the Honda TRX250X. If you build one of those that would be cool so I can see what’s up with them and I can follow the Videos with my daughters so they can learn to build a 250X
@@christopheravery5808 I actually went a different route as well ... I am currently building a 1985 Honda CB700SC Nighthawk S ... not on CZcams yet though, I am still just tearing it down but I may post up some videos once I get to reassembly - here is a link to my public Facebook post - facebook.com/groups/334876588373605/posts/948339857027272/
@@11GalleryATV I’ve ridden one of those before. I was into the whole motorcycle thing for a long time, I just recently left the club I was in and sold my Harley Road King
Maybe too old of video to get a reply, but just curious what brand carrier and axle did you use? Sorry if it was mentioned in video and I missed it.
The axle is OEM stock from a 2005, and the carrier is just an eBay special cheapo purchased 4 years ago and still going strong ... I even just had it apart to repaint the swingarm black instead of gold and the bearings are still perfect, 4 years later ... just keep em' greased ...
You inspired me to build my bike top to bottom. I didn't go all out with powdercoats but you are the reason I was able to do this build. I'm not a mechanic by trade but refuse to pay people for things I know I can do. This series gave me the know how and confidence to do it.
Thank you ... I'm not a mechanic by trade either, I'm actually a web developer and I write code for a living ... that's all it takes is the belief that you can do it (and some good ole fashioned common sense)
@11GalleryATV Love how thorough you were. Was great help and you built a very pretty machine. I have family out in Gilbert and next time I'm out and we take the can ams out would love to see them in person if you're out in the desert.
@@brandonnice2138Hells yeah! I don't ride very much though, but I get to the desert every once in a while ...
What year model 3 wheeler motor is this?
It's a stock 1986 Honda 200x engine that has been chemically stripped of the black factory paint and then vapor blasted to keep the bare metal without corrosion ...

Where did u get the carb rebuilt?
eBay
Very helpful ❤
Thank you ...
Where did you get that decompression cam lifter peice mine broke and i cant find the right one
It was on the machine when I bought it ... here is the parts diagram ( www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/atv/1986/atc200x-a/right-crankcase-cover ) but that is going to be a hard part to find by itself ...
My kick start is stuck on my 84 200x how bad is it?
Only you can be the judge of that ... engine locked up? or maybe just kicker problems?
I forgot all about using air to get them out. Father in law showed me this year's ago. Remembered soon as I seen u grab the air hose 😂
then you also seen them shoot across the room before too!
ive been rebuilding my 06 yfz450 to your vids. you made it so easy for me and id like to say thank you.
