Is this 08 the flex fuel version?

For the longest time I've always wanted a Buixk. A nice sedan like a LaCrosse. But considering these are now aging cars, what do you make of a Ford Fusion 2019 with the 2.5 engine and 70K miles? I know...I did a bait and switch here but maybe I need some advice.

1997 accord 5 speed manual has 286k miles on it and just passed smog yesterday also passed a 160 point inspection at the Honda dealership getting it Honda certified 😅 I love my f22b1 vtec sounds like a beast

80 Chevettes, starter on an ac car really sucks. Fiat X19 master cylinder is under the dash, brake fluid in your face and engine is packed in to a tiny compartment mid engine.

I almost questioned the Wizards credibility for using AutoZone as a sponsor and then I realized wow... it's only a $1300 fixer upper car, not like a German car that needs good OEM parts.... so it makes sense now.

I would much rather have the Mk5 Volkswagen Jetta than this car, so much better all around. But I guess if you can get the Dodge Dart to work for cheap then that's worth it.

The color is called Minerva blue. First year of the whale tail was in 1975 installed on 930 Turbo in Europe. In 1976 the Turbo came to the U.S. market. The 1974 Carrera came with a "ducktail" and could be optioned on other models like the 911S. The seepage is most likely the #8 bearing seal behind the crankshaft pulley.

I loved my xj8. Problem with the paint, back seat cramped, interior cheaply built. Other than that, a fabulous car.

IMHO with those two battery covers off I would have checked the voltage drop on the positive side and the return side. I have seen a lot of electrical problems being fixed by just breaking loose a bolt/nut and tightening it back up.

Wow. Great video! I looked at a 2011 GC Overland today with the svc 4wd light on. 2 new tires in front 2 banana skins in the back! I did not buy it but told the guy I needed to do some research first. I’ll try for the lower price tomorrow and if he says no, then I’ll pass. Too bad. Was one of the nicest ones I’ve seen in months otherwise. Thanks for the video!

$3,000 to replace the headlight assembly 🤯🤯🤯. Traded it in on a Mazda 🤷

Just glad my 2001 Duramax was not the worst,doesn’t have to be the best , just fits in somewhere,have had some problems,but mostly efficient and powerful enough.

People that find out im a mechanic from my friends would send me a list of what their car need. And i asked them, you took it to the dealership? They would say Yes. I laughed and siad you dont need all that done. But i can check some of the stuff on the list. SMH. I always advised them not to take it to the dealership .

Hi Mr. Wizard back 3 years ago I did a timing job on a xj8 believe it or not, with only 24890 km's not miles cause it had the original plastic tensioner and because it was sitting for so many years I took no risk and also front crankshaft seal was leaking and it was a pain to get the harmonic balance out😢. And finally both front and rear upper strut mounts, the foam was down to nothing and had to import it from the US.

The interior is worse than a Civic of the same vintage. 😂

The only good idea on it is the brakes. Thats the only thing I never seen break on its own or by normal use. All in all they are POS

The whipping sound you hear happens for a second when you start it and then it gets dramatically louder when I put it in reverse and drive as you can hear in the video. But you can hear it when the engine is idling as well. Cachug cachug sound. You'll hear it once the engine calms down after I accelerate it once. I've never heard a car do this in my life, lol. Car is a 2011 charger SE with a 3.6L. Engine runs smooth. When I drove it home (yeah i know, bad) it made that sound each time I accelerated, but only for the same amount of time you hear it in the video. 1 second whipping sound. It also makes the sound when the car is coming to a complete stop, but still in gear while in stop and go traffic. So, whip sound when accelerate, and whip sound when coming to a stop (idle), 1 second each. I'm at a loss.

Before I retired from the Army, I was licensed to drive the hummer with trailer and snowplow. When I was at Ft Sill, I had to pick one up fr9m the 3 shop, it had a busted half shaft, I opened the hood to check it out and found a 1 inch combination and 12 inch crescent wrench on the radiator.

Check the loose ground wire to the ECU. Fairly well know problem, with a fairly straightforward solution.

On Monday morning Command Maintenance we are performing our PMCS with our TM. We have never been to explain how to check exhaust louvers. whut tha?? What are they?

To me, it sounds like a bad connection somewhere in the CAN bus. Using a scope could uncover a problem. The guy running the South Main Auto youtube channel does a lot of work like this.

I'd drive that thing until the transmission starts slipping. Then, I'd get the engine & transmission rebuilt. For $5000, the car will run for another 25 years. No need to ever buy another one.

You have to bleed the air, cycle solenoids, and change fluid on these systems every 3 years or so. You also have engage them regularly.

That’s a 2002 Jaguar? 1 2002 Honda Accord will outlast 4 of those god damned things. You think I’m joking but I’m not. Why hasn’t anyone EVER seen one of these Jags with 250,000 miles on it? Because it’s impossible to put that many miles on it unless every god damned part on it is replaced at least 3 times. That’s why.

This era of Jaguars are total crap! The 1980’s and early 90’s are far more reliable. My dad’s friend had an 86 XJ8 and he needs a new water pump. No big deal right? Wrong. You have to take the fucking engine completly out of the car and basically take the fucking engine apart because it’s an internal water pump. So the water pump cost $1000 and labor was $4000. So 5 grand to change the water pump. I used to have a Chevy blazer and I bought a new water pump for $55 and had a mechanic install it for $100. It took him 30 minutes to do it. These cars are crap they are badly designed and the prices for everything is outrageous. Stay away from these cars unless you like being broke down a lot.

That temp sensor is just a sensor. Maybe if you know an instrumentation guy he or she could put together something that will work. I know it’s a long shot. Just a suggestion.

4000 to 5000 dollars for a timing chain replace on an engine like that isn’t bad. If you can afford a Jag, you can afford a timing chain. The other thing is, you get a real good look at the engine, if the engine is in good shape that car may run another 100,000 miles so that’s not a bad price. The only thing is I like the old Jags, the S type in particular. The pressure sensor for the intercooler, see if you can get a schematic for it. All you really need is the threaded fitting, if you can adapt another sensor (i.e. epoxy it into the fitting) you might able to splice it into the wiring harness or put some water proof connectors on it. As some one said you might be able to pick it up out of a salvage yard or ask someone in England to pick it for you and send it. Theres a guy whose got a channel who builds intercooled engines from the block, he uses a sensor tied to and edwino circuit board which you might could put one of your trainees on to tune it to the car. Garbage in, sweet sounding garbage out.

Car Wizard - what kind of unit were you in? We older guys from the M-151 days envy you guys for the doors and roofs, and the lack of a "sudden turns mean sudden death" stencil on the dash.

Meanwhile my 1983 Chevrolet Celebrity soldiers on and on ..... I just rent a car whenever I go on a long trip.
