Seems like an odd trade, but I get it. You have owned and fixed tons of cool cars and you wanted something that would be fast AND comfortable. People will give you crap about it, but at least you actually owned the Viper. Better a has been than a never was...! Congratulations...!

To each his own. I would have kept the Viper. I can’t imagine trading a Viper for a 4-door automatic. And Chargers are everywhere.
They're also garbage
Garbage to the people who can't drive are afford them. AND DRIVE FARTCAN with one big Muffler Also the Viper engine in those trucks 392 can I run them.
@@392scatpack3I could well afford to drive a Charger…they’re still garbage.
@user-vx7vi3vq1c yeah right you have a picture of your car. You trying to drive a Prius Toyota will garbage won't be in the junkyard in 10 years like yours. You know nothing about horsepower This a Dodge car Better look at mecums Auto Auction what old dodges and still selling like hot fire and the new ones will be the same after they get old. How is somebody got opinions that never had the car knows nothing about it. Mustangs are worst garbage.
@@392scatpack3 There's nothing special or expensive about a scatpack other than (as with most cars) a majority stereotypical driver. I'll take my tuned BMW hatch and SUV that will confuse most of the Dodge and Chevy drivers of the world, wondering how they just got overtaken by said "grocery getter". No, they neither cost significantly more nor cost more to maintain doing the work myself. They even get better all around gas mileage so it's still practical
"I traded it for something that I will sell in 3 months"
And it's not more "awesome" than a viper.
sees viper : "wooow i know what that is so cool" - sees blue car "oh thats noisy, damn em modern sports cars that all look the same" (although getting older i can understand some motivations)
Viper for a Charger? The wizard has officially lost his mind.
not even a hellcat
Not really this is a very smart move
@speedhunter7156 he's probably never sat in or driven a 1st gen Viper.
As a daily this is so much more practical and sounds just as good of not better
A lot of people say the Viper is a very uncomfortable car to drive, like the gas and brake pedals are to the left of the steering wheel because the transmission tunnel is so large. So you sit with your feet almost facing the front driver side wheel well.
Newsflash: Newton, KS. A wizard was arrested today after closing intersections and doing donuts in downtown Newton. LMAO!
🤣🤣🤣
Oh crap you weren’t lying
That viper was a keeper
You traded a Viper for that? No. Just no.
Rather have the viper
Wizard has become the thing he hates, no muffler newton. To beat your enemy, you must become the enemy 😂
if you can't beat them - join them!
He's doing the method where he buys the no-muffler vehicles, installs mufflers, then releases them back into the wild. I'll bet this car will be sold before September.
I have a couple of no mufflers in my neighborhood
@@genericsomethingwhat happen to that yellow dodge charger he bought and loved so much?

You sold a VIPER for that?!?!?!
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Car Wizard for your good advice on your videos. I recently bought a 2008 Buick Lucerne CXL with a 3.8 V6 with only 122,010 miles. A 2 owner car from Arizona. It runs great and looks great. Thanks again, Lou from California
Terrible choice, he has multiple daily drivers. That viper was sweet and uncommon. That charger can be found parked next to 3 others just like it in any high-school parking lot.
Ouch. But true.
Wizard's face will soon break out with a bad case of acne!
Has a viper, cool. Trade its for a Charger, yawn. Puts in a clickbait title, downvote.
I disagree with you. This charger is much more of a comfortable car to drive and live with
True, but if you don't like uncomfortable cars and manual transmissions, the Viper aint for you.
Mrs. Wizard said "I guess that's enough HP (485) for you"😂
Her Mustang does have more after all.
In November of 2019 my local dealer had 3 new scatpak chargers on sale for $36k. Then the COVID car ridiculousness started and when they got 2020 in they were $44k + market adjustments. I ended up buying a fixer upper house instead.
I have this exact scat pack that I bought new in 2019, (octane red) I still drive it and it’s never gotten old. You’ll love it. You can road trip anywhere riding on 4 cylinders, then mash the gas and hear the roar of the hemi. The driving modes really work well, as does the traction control. The B5 blue was my 2nd choice, love that color.
I was wondering about MPG but it sounds as if they have thought about that. Serious question. Would it beat the Lada if it was run in Eco mode ?
392 chargers are definitely pretty cool, but any viper is way cooler. V10 coupe is on another level regardless of the year. Still congratulations wizard!!!
But the ultimate key, is the beautiful V-8 sound of a big cube inch Hemi! V-10’s have a different, not so soothing sound. 😊
He already had the viper and he got rid of it for a cooler car
Absolutely agreed. Not a lot like the Viper for sure.
Oh please, this Charger is not cooler than the Viper. The Viper will turn heads. This is just a Charger.
If that matters to you
Maybe not everyone needs to be the center of attention.
A charger that is just about as quick, is infinitely more practical and can be driven almost every day.
And safer than the viper. The viper it's an awesome vehicle but for a middle aged wizard fast with safe it's better 😂
YOU KNOW HE NEVER KEEPS ANYTHING..
...well deserved...perfect streetable spec...best of all worlds in my opinion...power...handling...people hauling/grand touring...modern comforts/tech without being excessive...

The Viper was a much more of a collectible car. Try to go out and buy another Viper, ceiling prices are generally much higher. I would have traded the Charger for the Viper too, he got the better deal because that Viper can potentially be made into a 100K car with the right person owning it.
Congrats on 1M, glad to be a part of the channel.

Y’all complaining about Wizard taking the Scat over the Viper but if yall saw him get in the Viper and how he fit in it; the Scat is way more comfortable, shifts fast, and plenty of hp for what he needs. He’s not chasing quarter mile times.
Congrats Wizard on the 392
Gt500 would gap it weights much less
After the newness of a car like the Viper wears off its just not a comfortable car for anyone let alone someone 6'1&245 lbs ( that's a guess). Guys put stiffer shocks on stiffer clutch & a car is more work than it is fun. I've seen it all the time but owners won't admit it,they just don't drive them much.
@@richardmorris7063neither is a dodge. Complete garbage
@@8corymix8??? Both are dodges
Yeah, from a practical standpoint the Charger is a superior vehicle in pretty much every way. The Viper is more special because of its rarity and rawness. The Viper isn't a daily driver though and really is becoming a museum piece at this point. Unless the Wizard was looking to keep it as an investment trading it in for something that will be much more enjoyable to live with is a better option.
I actually get it. The Viper was awesome but if you want a car you can just get in and drive that’s comfortable then the Charger makes sense. Last thing a mechanic wants to do at the end of the day is work on his own car. It’s more practical and until it gets older, more reliable.
Fast, newer, more versatile and practical. And still really really fast. I'm with you.
@@NVRAMboi A better way to say it is that Wizard will get more joy out of driving and using his Charger daily than simply owning, looking at and maintaining a Viper that can’t be used a majority of the year.

Traded a Viper for a sedan??? What
Hey, excellent sponsor bit! Nicely integrated and smoothly done!
Congratulations on topping 1 million subscribers! Happy to help 😁👍🏽
That's a great purchase Wizard. That platform is excellent in so many ways. The last year Mercedes used that chassis was the 2002 E-Class. That is just a very comfortable and fun car to drive for groceries or a road trip. I also agree with you as far as not getting the supercharged version. The rear wheel drive makes the naturally aspirated version a handful by itself.
I'm glad you got the Viper out of your system before it headed for a ditch or utility pole.
Many years ago I concluded that me + >400hp vehicle w/be a recipe for my own demise. Back then, there were no Hellcats or Super Snakes of 800+. Be a great way to recycle myself. heh
That chassis actually started as the Europe-only Renault 25, a mid size FWD family car with a glass hatch. Then it was used on the Eagle Premier, then the Chrysler LH cars such as the Dodge Intrepid. Mercedes Benz came along and converted it to RWD via a bunch of E-class suspension components and a ZF transmission/Hemi combination and that is the car you see in this video. It's fascinating how car chassis evolve, though car companies do this primarily to save money.
If it's fun to drive who cares?
I thought it was a 1999 E-Class platform.
@@rgt33 '99 E class suspension parts grafted onto the FWD Renault chassis.

Mopar fan here. That is a beautiful Charger. The classic color paint is what jumped out at me first, honestly lol. But this will definitely fit better for him. The Viper is one that you HAVE to want to deal with all of the BS that comes with it. This one has the fun factor of the Viper with the practicality of a full-size family sedan. Totally understandable. Have fun with it, Wizard!

Although I don't like big 4 door boats It's always good to see performance cars in a nice color. Black, Silver & White is so common to see & boring.

I doubt if it would be affordable to run in the U.K. My 2.2L Vectra was priced off the road by ever increasing road tax. The closest thing I could think to this in the U.K. would be a V8 Mustang but financially some performance EV makes much more sense.
Chargers and Challengers while cool are a dime a dozen. Definitely a better daily driver but the Viper is more exotic.
