Hi, welcome to the Glossop wild camping channel! I have always loved the countryside of Derbyshire where I live and have enjoyed many a walk alone and with family or friends over the years. After being inspired by a friend of mine who enjoys wild-camping, plus some added inspiration from other CZcamsrs (who are a lot more experienced than I am!) I decided to give it a go. Join me on my journey as I enjoy this amazing new interest and gain experience through trial and error, you will see some of the beauty of this gorgeous part of the country and hopefully enjoy some of my random banter along the way!

Hello! Splendid landscapes, another superb hike, very well filmed! Thank you very much for sharing! Laurent🙂
Hi Laurent, I thank you again for watching and commenting, it makes me very happy when my viewers enjoy the videos enough to tell me 🤗
@@Glossopwildcamp 👍
Ah thanks for taking us with you Bri, perfect night out 😊 btw are you up for sharing your chicken curry recipe?
Big thanks for your comment Debbie, I make a few variations of the curry, which video are you referring to in particular?
Great camp vid, even so fade to grey thrown in too
Great looking camp Bri.. loving the singing, especially the camera switch vocal syncing lol.
Cheers Ken, loved this camp, those dusk colours were praise inducing. Glad you enjoyed the wailing, I was in a good mood obviously!
Looks a fantastic night. Blessed with the weather conditions. I was shocked how cold it can go at night, been down to 8c while on the llyn peninsula. Loving the tunes while walkkng. Talking about onion , ive chopped onion and put olive oil in a small bag. More from scratch cooking is way forward. Anyway hopefully join you next camp 🏕
It was a good one mate, the colours at dusk were amazing, the conditions were similar to the first time you and I camped at the downfall so it was great to be able to fly the drone. I thought you would appreciate the 80's hiking karaoke 😆 Let's meet up for a pint between now and the 7th Sep to catch up and discuss next camping location.
Definitely for up for pub. Old school Stockport be good 👍 @@Glossopwildcamp
Impressed by the lack of "Erms" Brian. I would love to watch a full video with just the Alan Patridge voice 🤣👌 Wagging school was the best part of my education......schools are like Cat 1 prisons these days so theres zero chance of them escaping the Programming 😢
Thanks mate, I think there was one 'erm' that slipped through the net during the cooking scene. but a definite improvement! I hear you regarding the school programming, my wife is a teacher so I get to hear about the stuff that is coming into the curriculum recently, bad stuff.
Thanks Brian, nowt better than a bit of alfresco singing!
Cheers Phil, I couldn't help but sing when out in such a beautiful place in such glorious weather!
@@Glossopwildcamp I know exactly what you mean!
Nice video mate. I'm the same on my vids, I talk way too fast and a load of crap at times 😂😂😂
Cheers! You make a lot more sense than me mate, it's cringey looking back at my early ones in particular 😬
@Glossopwildcamp good to see progress though, it's amazing when you look back how much you find you've got better
@thepeakdistrictviking Absolutely right, we're learning all the time. I was in Castton last Wednesday, I wondered if I'd bump into you and say hello!
@Glossopwildcamp if you're ever over let me know always good to meet up with like minded folk
Fab mate, loving the music too ❤
Nice one brother, thanks. Hope to see you Friday if you're at the Cafe
Nice chilled camp there Brian 👍🏻 I need to get my ass out again soon. Great aerial shots with the drone 👌🏻
Thank you mate, I was very blessed to have the calm conditions on Kinder to fly it, it's rarely like this as you know!
Loving the pronunciation of Kil-HO-man Bri 😂
Fantastic camp 👍great you using the drone again. Location looked like my bag for isolation. Great place of spiritual reflection
Thanks Tim! The drone really does bring a great perspective of the area, love it. This place felt very similar to Mad Womans Stones for atmosphere.
Enjoyed that very much, the typical day of hiking to a destination and having to retrace ones steps because either a Private path/fence or unpassable body of fast flowing water. Enjoyed the drone footage and the wild camp. Very much enjoyed listening to an elucidation involving your faith and how you came to it! I know the Bible very well as I studied it, as I have the Quran in regards to my faith as well as work over the years! I totally agree with one major point you stated; there are religious people who go through the motions of being religious (an outward show) and those that actually believe that one has to make changes in ones personal life to be acceptable to our God. Believing that all you have to do is believe in God, and as for sin, do as you like and you will be forgiven, is absolute toss and stupidity at the highest level. We as humans cannot dictate to God how we should worship him and what is acceptable to him. No we have to learn the standards, laws and principles of what is acceptable to him and follow them. As for Cults, they always try to isolate family and friends from your association at an early stage, as it is easier to brain wash you and of course the control factor. They want you to believe they are the family and only family you should be loyal to and trust. This cult principle of control is also in street gangs, where they are your family and you have to prove your loyalty by committing crime. Thankyou for sharing a little light into part of your life!
Thank you so much for such a thorough comment Steve, I really enjoyed reading it and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and experience on the subject of faith. I have wanted to say more about my faith for some time now, but wasn't sure how to approach it in a way that wouldn't alienate folks, so I prayed about it. Thankfully my prayers were answered when a subscriber asked about my faith in a comment on a previous video. If my testimony helps even one person on their journey to knowing God, then I am delighted. Totally agree about what you said regarding the absurdity of humans dictating to God how we should worship Him, yet most religious people I have met do exactly that. I am satisfied that God has revealed everything that we need to know about Himself, and how we worship Him in the bible.
Thanks for talking about your faith. I have none myself but find it interesting to hear about others' journeys.Another cracking film and it was good to see the winding down back at t'office.
Thanks Mike, glad you found my testimony interesting and I hope that it be thought provoking for yourself and other viewers. I think it was you who originally asked about my faith wasn't it?
@@Glossopwildcamp Yes it was me who asked about your faith.I think quite a few folks find this kind of chat interesting. I've watched a lot pipe smoking videos, being a pipe smoker myself, and the majority of the YTPC , You Tube Pipe Community, are in America .They talk openly of their faith and from time to time ask for prayers for a member who is in difficulties, be it financially or ill health.
Great vid and nice to explore the new area and challenge. Drone footage too was great showing the true bleakness of the moors. Well done
Perfect campin spot👍
@WildBorkysadventures Cheers, yes, it was perfect. Hope to camp there again.

I was going to do this route to Nell Pike. on os maps saying the same thing going trow that farm road..glad I didn't ..great senary bud..👍😎

Good to see you both out on another adventure. 👌 Spectacular location for this one Bri!! We're not that familiar with that far corner of Kinder, we're putting that right very soon too.. and we also love going somewhere not knowing where we're going to pitch up, exciting in't it! 😊 Hey.. strong tent talk guys. 👍 After your last camp, it looked like this one really was a 'corker' after all. 💥⛺💚
Hi Mats, really appreciate your comment, I always enjoy reading them, you ooze positivity and that comes across strongly in your videos too. I'm sure you will agree that being out there on Kinder is a tonic to the soul in every respect. Definitely recommend this area to you mate, it's top notch 👍
@@Glossopwildcamp Aww Bri.. what a lovely comment mate, I really appreciate that. Thankyou. 🙏💚 Yes, it really is a tonic for the soul. ✨ Top notch will do for us! 👍 All the best Bri. ⛺👌
Really love this spot , understated and has 360 degree views. Loving tune at the end, that your recent musical creation ? It was a fantastic camp 👍👍👍
@timstokes8283 It was top end Tim, it seems a quiet corner of the plateau and well worth another visit I think. That tune is about 20 years old recorded in my bedroom in New Mills!
Really good track @@Glossopwildcamp
Great camp and weather not too bad. Nice to see you both getting further over Kinder and exploring the areas.
Great camp Bri, enjoy seeing you two together, Tim is a top bloke too.. So good to see other wild campers keepin' it real too + Trump was nearly assassinated since this camp, that would have been a conversation. Solid effort put into location, looking forward to seeing your next wild camp upload. 👍🏻
Big thanks for your great comment mate, there's a risk to keeping it real, but I can not be any other way, truth needs to be told. These wild camps help to keep me sane in this insane world!
Great camp Tim and Bri, good conversation, good food and beautiful surroundings! God's great creation never ceases to impress! Keep them coming! 🏕️
Thanks mum, we do enjoy our chats in addition to the beauty around us, this was a lovely quiet place. x
Special treat this morning, a GWC video! Yay! Blooming heck Brian, not starting until 7:30 - in a month or so we will all be tented up by then! Great video, thank you. Id always fancied a camp at Mad Womans Stones, even more so now.
Cheers Phil, I know, it was a really late start, Fridays are a working day for Tim so we just couldn't get there any earlier. I think that mid-week camps are the best, but its not often I get the chance with family commitments etc. I highly recommend this area, really quiet, lots of nice flat spots to pitch and great views to boot.
Great camp, and great conversation, I fully agree with you on politics....it's a total sham. I don't watch mainstream TV either, it's all propaganda.
Thanks mate, yeah I had a feeling you would be on the same page. It's a bit of a risk putting our views out there on YT, It may offend a few folks, but I'm not going to avoid talking truth when I know it. Who knows, it might serve to help wake a few folks up!
Nothing like getting out there! I find the rain hitting the tent rather relaxing. No matter the weather it is still a great adventure. It's all about me time and rebooting the system for the next week ahead. Keep em coming
Great Job. Curious about how the farmer will react to the remaining stone lying at the base? no Problem - clean it up himself or question why you did not build it as thick as the original. I love this tutorial and thanks
Thanks for the comment. The farmers fields are littered with loose stones around the margins from previous repairs and some walls that have started to fall due to livestock damage, so these leftovers will be used for future repairs as required. I have found that I rarely have the right amount of stone as it is impossible to build the wall exactly the way it was before it fell.
Absolutely brilliant! Wonderful views, beautifully filmed. We love the humour, philosophical discussions and banter. So glad you had good weather (but for the inevitable chilliness!!). You could try peppermint oil for the midges, they really don't seem to like it. Many thanks indeed Bri! 👍😄 (we totally agree about the weather and other matters - something is definitely awry!!)
Mahico😊. You're a rapping wildcamping geodesic whisky review superstar in our house ✊️🫡
@fraserconnell21 Haha! Great comment Fraser, made me 😃 😀 Thanks matey 👍
Takes me back, my first ever wildcamp on kinder scout was right next to edale rocks (my first 2 CZcams videos on my channel are of that camp) I've also camped on swines back. Nice video, very calming 👍🏻
Cheers matey 👍👍 It is a lovely area, but it was a shame that it was so busy. Wild camping has become mainstream it seems! I'll have a look at the videos you mentioned. Take it easy mate.
Great vid! It tends to get noisy there in the 5am time. I'd camped at Kinder Low and loads were load and passing by. I asked how come you're all up so early hiking, they had left Edale at 3am to get ahead of the weather heading to Crowden on the Pennine way. Woolpacks would have been better, next time. Whisky review too is always a pleasure. Keep the vids going... Best wishes, Mike.
Great video again Bri, enjoy seeing our local area, keep them coming. But, im not so sure of your Kilchoman pronunciation, i may be talking rubbish but think it could be pronounced as 'c' rather than 'ch'. Have you ever visited Islay? Fabulous place, not just the whisky but the wildlife too 😊
Thank you Debbie 🙂 I do like to pronounce things correctly, perhaps if If I can find a Scottish person on CZcams that is reviewing that whisky I will find my answer! I will come back to you.
I've a friend up there and have asked her, I think actually it could be kil ho man! Will come back to you too! 😊
The consensus is Kil-ho-man, so if I ever do visit the area, I will be armed with the correct pronunciation 😂
😊
My last camp was at Edale Rocks. I walked from Edale along the Pennine Way up Jacobs Ladder. Great Vid. All the best Andy :)
Hi Andy, thanks for watching and commenting. I have subbed your channel mate, and I will check out your video, it's great to compare notes on an area. Take it easy. Bri.
@@Glossopwildcamp cheers buddy. Thanks for the sub 👌🏻👌🏻
top vid, looks great up there...46% Islay ..lush...and light too.
Thanks very much! Yes, Islay is my personal fave single malt by a country mile.
Such a shame that you didn’t get enough sleep but I guess that’s the way it is on occasion. I’ve been looking at Tunstall Farm House on rightmove, what a location but sadly considerably beyond my budget! I absolutely love Kinder Scout and still have parts to explore and Cloughs to scramble after many Peak District visits in the past 29 years. Kinder Low-end is pretty hard going, I find descending it hard on my knees, that’s for sure. There is a path off to the left not far from the drystone wall, it’s very indistinct initially but becomes clear after a short distance. It offers a longer but less steep route up that side of Kinder. If you like a scramble, I heartily recommend Crowden Clough on the Southern side, it’s a bit more exciting than Grindsbrook (although taking the right hand fork near the top of Grindsbrook provides some meaningful scrambling), I also highly recommend Nether Red Brook on the Northern Edge, we just walked past Ashop Head along the base of the Northern Edge until we got there. It was fun. Blackden Brook is next on the list, or maybe “the Cloughs” near Jacobs Ladder. Glad you had an enjoyable walk back to Bowden Bridge. I’’m back in Hayfield in four weeks time and can’t wait!
Hi Greg, a big thanks for your comment, really enjoyed reading it, I think I got a notification that you have subbed as well? Thanks for that 🙂You're right about Kinder Low end, it's quite a slog with a heavy backpack! I'm grateful for all of your recommendations and hope to check them out in future hikes/camps. Hope you get great weather for your walks when you'r back in Hayfield 👍👍
@@Glossopwildcamp You are welcome! Whilst it comes to mind, one of the most beautiful views is found at Crow Stones and Crow Stones Edge, on the Howden Moors at the top end of the Derwent Valley. The view is epic over the Howden and Derwent reservoirs. Andrew Beavers did a wild camp video up that way which shows it very well. There is a spring nearby for a water source too. The Crow Stones are quite large and mostly climable too! It’s pretty remote and not too many people go there. I either park at Kings Tree near Slippery Stones near the Howden Reservoir or tackle the journey from Langsett Reservoir. Some paths are fairly indistinct across the Howden Moors but the most you explore it, the easier it becomes. There are some plane wrecks tucked away up there too. I expect you are aware of Derwent Edge too, a few miles along past Howden Edge, that is full of great views and rock formations! Another great place for a wild camp!
What a nice relaxing watch Bri. Well done for climbing Kinder Low End, it looked well steep. I'll definitely be up for a trip to Mad Woman's Stones with you & Tim. If it's soggy or there's not enough space @MWS, then the quarry at Crookstone Knoll is nearby as a back-up plan B camp site.👍
Thanks once again Steve, yes it was quite a slog in that heat with the backpack on, but got there in the end! I will come back to you about organising the MWS camp, hopefully next week as I'm away for the weekend. Good to know you have a back up plan if we need it mate. Cheers!
Looking for a Seal Stones video and I get you AND Steve! Brilliant drone footage Brian, and beautiful weather for a camp!
Thanks Phil, not sure how I missed your comment, notifications are random on CZcams! I need to get the drone out again, its been a while.

What a difference a day makes eh! Well, we really lucked out the night before judging by your conditions mate.. but you got a rainbow!! 🌈👍 I enjoyed watching you explore.. its great joining up the dots by taking different routes up to different areas of Kinder isnt it? That Ashop Head ish route, we've done that in some terrible conditions and come down in the dark.. not again!! ☺️ Aww mate, so you had a bit of a rough night? Well, look at it as, you get them now and again, so you've got that out the way now and it means your next one will be an absolute corker! 👌 All the best Bri and see ya on't next 'un. ✨⛺✨💚
Hi Mats, thanks for another great comment, love to read all your comments mate. You're absolutely right regarding joining the dots with Kinder, I get a great sense of achievement as I become more familiar with it. I love the camps where I'm not too sure where exactly I will pitch, it just adds to the sense of adventure. I'm sure you will prove correct regarding the next camp being a corker! All the best to you and Donna 😀
Looks a lovely spot that , shame about voices carrying in the wind. Looking forward to out next camp 🏕
That Bridal way i reckon brings you out on the opposite side of carr meadow farm near little hayfield.
I think you're right, I have just taken a look on Google Earth, it's the path that takes you up past Kinder Dam and juts off left up over the moor, past Carr Meadow and the path continues to the right of the A624 up Chunal, ending at the stile opposite Monks Road.
@@Glossopwildcamp Thats the one 👍
I did my very first Kinder wild camp at Edale Rocks, I pitched right by the path and didnt see anyone between 6pm and 7am. I nearly always head off from Edale, either up Jacons Ladder or more directly up The Nab or Grindslow. Im hoping to do Mad Womans Stones myself this week, so looking forward to your video of that. Good video once again, thank you! When you were up there, I was pitched almost at the very top of Grindslow, so you are probably on the sunset timelapse that I did!
Thanks Phil. I assume it was particularly busy due to the solstice. How was your camp? Looking forward to your video- on your superior Pocket 3 camera! I'm still saving to upgrade mine. I hope your camp at Mad Woman's Stones is epic mate 👍
@@Glossopwildcamp I'm still fighting with the pocket 3, operator error! Much better than phone camera but you need more care to use it. Might do seal stones instead... We shall see how climbing up grindsbrook goes!
@@PhilWaud Grindsbrook, ugh, not a fan personally, a real slog! Hopefully the Pocket 3 will be very similar to the 2 to use. Just stick it on auto everything and you will instantly get good results. Mine has a Pro mode, but it means adjusting it for every scene so I don't really bother with it.
@@Glossopwildcamp I love climbing the Nab, but then I need water so have to walk around to grindsbrook anyway. The issue with the osmo is framing, but I'm getting used to it and making it behave.
