Lot of people hate wasps, sure they can be annoying at times but imagime if they wouldn't exist. There would be so many disgusting flies, mosquitos and other much more annoying things flying around. One summer I had a small wasp nest near my window, sure, there was a lost wasp every now and then in my room but that was quickly solved with a glass or by opening the windows wide. What I did positively notice though was an almost complete absence of mosquitos and flies, moths and whatnot in my room in that summer. I could have my window open wide at night and even lights on and barely had those annoying beasts flying everywhere. Wasps made for a very good protection in that regard. The nest fell off during a heavy storm in early spring though, the summer afterwards was riddled with pests again because there were no wasps.

It may seem like overkill, but most insects have nerve clusters spread throughout their bodies. You can figure out the rest I'm lazy.

It surprises me how long a majority of the insects can still be alive for quite a while despite being ripped in half by the torso in the case of mantis And in most other bugs decapitation still leaves the body fighting

It's not the one ant the Hornet was scared of, it was the hive, if it killed that ant, the ant releases a chemical marker that tells the other ants to come back and avenge it and get its body, they also spit acid.
