Leuchlocoridioum. A parasitic worm that eats into the snails eyes, and pulsating. This is to mimic a Maggot, which Birds usually eat. So, the bird sees the snails pulsating eyes, and tears the snails head off to eat them. That does not stop the parasite. It programmed the snail to regenerate its eyes. About the bird, the worms are ingested. This means when the bird lays fecal matter, it spreads the worm for more snails to eat and get infected. So, it is practically dead. It’s a zombie at this point.
That poor snail, noticed the eye stalk is already gone meaning its already been eaten, you can end its suffering, end the cycle kill the snail and the parasite
It's not suffering since they feel no pain and the parasite is entitled to complete it's life cycle as is the snail and yourself. Besides the eye stalk will grow back quickly!
@@madasahatter5514 "the eye stalk will grow back quickly" what? the snail is already doomed and is going to be eaten by a bird... I don't see where in this cycle his eyes grow back lol... This looks so terrible for the snail...
selia Xie The parasite is part of nature, so if you remove or kill it that means you damage the nature and biodiversity. If the nature really is important to you, you shouldn't discriminate different forms of life.
Cordyceps is a fungus. This is leucochloridium paradoxen. The worm is not visible but you can see there are at least two brown banded broodsacs pulsating into the snails eyes to push them out, stretch them until they look like a caterpillar, so a bird will eat the eggs right out of the poor snail's eyes. Disgusting.
You were looking at the parasite. They take the shape and form of a maggot to attract birds. When the bird eats the snail with the parasite, the parasite grows into more and reproduces until, the bird drops it feces/poop/dung and another snail eats it and the cycle begins again.
The dog scared me
I was expecting a T-Rex when the branches started snapping.
Same lol
hell to the naw
Poor thing it's being eaten from inside out and he's experiencing all that while alive...
The is technically dead, its body is just hijacked

Or basically he is not himself anymore. Kinda like dementia. Something took over him

Greg Anson
Snails can suffer too.

I found a snail with long clear tendrils coming out the side of its head. I thought it was mutated or its sex organs but it could b a weird parasite.
calibomber209 Yes that is possible. But some snails have naturally long retractable eyes, those usually come in pairs though.
I stepped on a slugs and I had an opened wound. I heard slugs can carry all sorts of parasites. Do you think I should be worried.
Yes, parasites could be eating your brain right now!
Maybe if it’s toxic
Update?
I thought I was the only one who wanted to pick it up
That is a zombie kill it our will turn to a zombie😣
Why is he holding it. Isnt it transferrable to humans?
Not by just holding it, I hope. I would not recommend eating it though!
I have watched an episode of "monster inside me" wherein a human ate a raw snail and the parasite went in to the persons body.
@@cateeugenio6309 thats different parasite lol
