And, I'm not really sure where any uncertainty about Sabonis' defense would come from...he was damn near the best defensive big man in the league, fundamentally, even though, the refs kept allowing Shaq to lead with the strategically-placed elbow to the face, never calling the charge And, THAT was an older Sabonis, because, he had a full career BEFORE he even came to the U.S. to play ball. There is a reason why I always say "Life is unfair." It's not to promote unfairness. It's to encourage humility in the face of its inevitability. When we accept life isn't always fair, we're better equipped to deal with those instances that are out of our control when we face them. I had to learn this lesson the hard way. As a younger man, I was treated terribly unfairly at a job. I couldn't let it go so I left the company only to end up in a worse situation! 😂 Lesson learned. No one ever taught me life is unfair. I had to learn it the hard way. As much as we have to be ungrateful about we usually have more to be grateful for. Jaylen Brown deserves to be on the US Olympic team. No doubt. Yet he's still a WCF & NBA Finals MVP & an NBA champion. He's still got generational wealth, health, & loved ones. Etc. He's been rewarded by God immeasurably in innumerable ways for his hard work. So yeah, our focus shouldn't be on what we think we deserve. Our focus should be on giving our best within our circumstances & trusting God with the rest come what may. He has Providence. We'll be rewarded, just not always in the ways we expect to be or think we deserve. I've been meaning to offer this rant here for a while now. Today, I finally got around to it! 😂 A faith-filled & grateful mindset is far more powerful than a "Woe is me" one. That doesn't mean we should always surrender to unfairness either.
