Very surprised that no one said John Stockton, all-time leader in assist and steals. They made finals back to back years and came the closest to pushing MJ to a game 7 in 1998.

And, I'm not really sure where any uncertainty about Sabonis' defense would come from...he was damn near the best defensive big man in the league, fundamentally, even though, the refs kept allowing Shaq to lead with the strategically-placed elbow to the face, never calling the charge And, THAT was an older Sabonis, because, he had a full career BEFORE he even came to the U.S. to play ball. I remember him being the U.S. team's biggest concern, when they would face Russia in the Olympics. By the time he came to the NBA, he was no longer mobile enough to be any type of offensive threat, but, his defensive positioning & footwork was unquestionably elite.

Well, when it comes to starting 5 almost no one is necessary. Stockton, Iverson, Baylor, Barkley and Ewing could be a legit 5, but I wouldn't be mad if you remove any of them for Karl Malone either.

@@soramirez5473 that's beautiful...& not true....Stockton is top 5 PG...But not 2nd. 2nd would be Isiah or Oscar. & Penny offers more variety than John...he can score at a high clip, rebound, assist & defend. Penny was pretty much the second coming of Magic.
@@crharper25 Isiah and Oscar dont have the assists or steals numbers that stockton has. I'll go by stats. you go by whatever criteria you choose. I guess cuz Penny just "looks" cooler.. Stockton better at facilitating and playing the passing lanes. bottom line.

@@soramirez5473 Yes Stockton has the stats he played longer....but he's definitely not a better hooper than Penny. Penny is 6'7, better handle, better shooter & a better defender. Stockton has more assist because they pretty much ran the same pick/role play.

Gervin and Baylor didn't play in the same era. the SG should be Lenny Wilkins or Jerry Sloan.
Gervin should be on the same team with Pete Maravich/Sidney Moncrief/Michael Ray Richardson, Walter Davis, Bernard King/Adrian Dantley/Alex English/Marques Johnson (SF was absolutely loaded in the late 70s and 80s), Terry Cummings/Tom Chambers, Artis Gilmore/Bob Lanier

@@HopeandPeace4 Gervin didn't play in the ABA until 1973 and didn't play in the NBA until 1976. he never played with Gus Johnson or Elgin, only the very last year of Thurmond and only caught the last 2 years of Bing. Gervin was the oddball in that group so that's why i suggested Lenny or Sloan to replace Gervin and gave George a completely different team (Moncrief, King, Cummings and Gilmore and others). replacing Elgin with Thompson still makes the starting unit with Gervin a historical unit that never played against each other at the same time, at least near their primes...

The starting 5 is cp3 harden baylor although they gave him a ring otherwise give me gervin at the sf and malone at the pf and ewing at center but barkley and malone deserve to be on the list over ewing so just have them both no ewing
