Welcome to CharlieShooters KnowHow. I aim to give you the Know-How you need to be able to complete a wide range of tasks, including DIY, Car Mechanics, Household Maintenance, setting up Smart Devices, and anything in between.
I’ve always loved to have a go at jobs myself, primarily to save money, but over the years I have realised that sometimes, if you want a job doing properly, do it yourself! I am pretty much self-taught, picking up information from the internet and friends who are tradesmen.
I also enjoy travelling and going to concerts, so on occasion I may include some useful videos, giving you the Know-How on places I’ve been.
I started on CZcams in 2007. Back then I had no focus for a channel and uploaded videos that I thought people wanted to see. It was a while before I decided How-To Videos were my niche. I’ve kept some of those videos on my channel as a little glimpse into how it all started!

Cheers Mate great video. Saved me a bundle.
Dang! I can finally clean in between the two glass plates! And get the nooks and crannies behind the door hinge! I've had my Beko for 5 years now and I never worked out how to do this on my own 😅 Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
No problem whatsoever! It's always nice cleaning all the nooks and crannies so it looks brand new again!
wish is wouldve seen this before i used chemical paint remover to strip a windowsill...
The gun is a lot easier and a lot less messy!! 👍🏼
Will order one now. Thank you for this!
Tnx, this helped. I broke the cylinder and thought what next? Then I had to turn with the allen key multiple times the upper part, while pressing the other upper part.
Pleased it helped you out!! Thanks for commenting!
John fury really gets under Carl frochs skin and very understandable Carl would KO John easy weight wouldn't matter Carl is a boxer John isn't and never as been he's living off Tyson's reputation and he's not that good
I can't help but think this comment has gone on the wrong video!! 😂
Is that the same for Bosch oven
I've never taken a Bosch oven apart sorry, so I really don't now.
Chloros, with a knapsack, works out much cheaper and easier
....but not for your average Jo who hasn't already got the knapsack sprayer!
Hi mate thx for the info . After you remove your wallpaper if your plaster is in good condition Is it ok to do with a light sanding and paint over it ? Thx. 🙏🏾
Yes that should be good! Have a look at my video on "mist coats" if it is bare plaster! 👍🏼
Thanks I been looking for months for this video glad I didn’t have to kick it off the hinges lol
I'm glad you found it too, and hopefully saved you some money!
Is the "clock" mechanically run or is it electric? Like if I disconnect the timer from the power socket, is it going to stay at the current time or will the clock be moving still?
It is powered by the electric socket it is plugged into. It will not continue turning once it is unplugged.
The clock is powered by the electric socket it is plugged in to. It will not continue to turn once it has been unplugged.
This is so helpful and a game changer for cleaning the door but I don’t suppose you have any further magic tricks as when I slid the door off the hinges, one of them sprung back up along with the clip and is now stuck 😅
Thanks very much! You may be able lever that back with a screwdriver maybe.
Brilliant mate great video thanks very much
Cheers...appreciate you leaving a comment!
Love the video, buy all the cars and make videos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If only!! 😂
Very helpful, sir, but I would like to know if you can apply brilliant white masonry paint on a bare plaster interior wall? I don't want to apply a top coat and am uncomfortable making a mist coat because I fear getting the water/paint ratio wrong and ruining my new wall.
I probably wouldn't do that, as masonry paint is designed more for going straight on to brick or concrete. You won't ruin your wall, and if it is fresh plaster then you really should mist coat it. Err on the side of more paint to water ratio if you are worried. Too weak a mix would cause problems....it could go chalky.
Me and my neighbour helping out got all the way up to the allen key part but could not for the life of us turn the deadlock. It's an ERA brand. We were moving the only part within the key hole back and forth but it didn't move the deadlock at all. Any tips??
It is a fiddly part of the process, but if you persevere and try it both ways (left and right) you should get there in the end. Good luck!
Is it safe for the wood? No darkening, burning etc?
I have only ever used it on wood and it is fine. Just don't leave it in the one position for too long. You will get a feel for it once you get going.
Thank you, very useful! I'm gonna try this in 2 weeks! :)
Good luck, hope it goes well!
Big big thank you my son had lost his key we followed your instructions but we only replaced the barrel so didn’t need to measure anything. Daughter in law took the barrel we broke out to screwfix and the guy was helpful and gave us the barrel we needed for £12.. sure we saved my son a couple of hundred pounds THANK YOU!!!
I love reading these success stories from watching the video! Thanks for commenting to let me know.
Thanks for the video!
Was this a wimpey nofines property? I have a question about the loft if so? Also is it as easy without using a grinder ie just the hammer Chisel drill?
The grinder makes it a lot neater than if you just attacked it with the SDS drill! The property was an ex-council property and poured concrete construction.
thank you for the video. I just moved into a place that already had this installed but its on previous owners account still would I need to press reset on the screen to get it to connect to my nest app? or do I have to do the whole installation from scratch?
I think you can undertake a factory reset to sort that out. I've never done one myself though.
Shouldn't you have replaced it with a higher security lock that can't be snapped?
A lot of people have asked this, but it was going on a door that went out in to a garden with no access from anywhere but the house, so security wasn't a real issue.
I have used this product on knots before, and used primer, then top coat, the knots still bleed. In other areas sanded down existing paint to start from stratch and use knot treatment, and it alll have bleed through again....
This does need to be in contact with the knot to work. I have never had a problem with it bleeding through though.
That's exactly how they break in just not so gentle
👌👌👍👏👏
Thank you that was very useful. What temperature your gun is using please ? I have an adjustable temperature gun (50 - 660 degrees C) and I've no idea what temperature to use. I don't want to risk burning the wood. Thanks again.
Mine was 1500w and just had 2 settings, but it was just "high" and "low"....no idea on temperature. It actually died the last time I used it! Gutted!!
"A clean stripper is a happy stripper" 😄
....although thinking about it.....maybe it's better to have a dirty stripper! 🤣🤣
APNA wats number send Karen thanks
Can you paint straight over wall that looks like that after removing wallpaper?
You can do, depending on the state of the wall!
Can this not discolour your decking and damage it
No....I haven't had any trouble anyway! 👍🏼
A massive thank you for sharing your video, I'm in same situation lol. Going to give this a go, before buying a new door.
Good luck! 👍🏼
I have replacd the same mount recently on JB43 Jimny. The centre bolt and the amount of tension on it seems to preload the mount and affected the shock absorbtion. It is about 3 turns of the bolt from firm to supple and this made a difference for me in harshness. Finding the right position halfway seemed to work best. Also Suzuki seemed to have reversed the postion of the nuts on out 2008 Jimny. The bolt enters from the top of the gearbox mount and threaded into a welded nut on the bottom side of the mount. It is really fiddly and awkward since there isn't much room to work with. Guaranteed to make you say a bunch of rude words!
I'm sure there are a few people who will find that useful! Thanks! 👍🏼
Many thanks
No problem!
Hi I have a beko oven door how do I adjust it as it is not closing tightly to the oven letting the heat put? Regards Glenda
I'm not sure you can adjust it to be honest. Maybe it needs a new seal?
My Beko double oven cooker is different. There are 3 oval holes at the side on the large oven. I have no idea how to remove the glass for cleaning. Even a professional cooker cleaning company could not help. Any ideas?
I don't know to be honest. I know how this one in the video works, but I don't profess to being an expert with cookers. If the cleaning company didn't know either then maybe it's an unusual design?
I have a problem with my car, there is oile inside my air filter and i dont know how oil comes to my air filters do you have any ideaa
It could be caused by a number of things to be fair. I've not had it so I can't help you, but if you Google it there will be someone who has had it before I'm sure!
Life saver. Managed to replace my door today. Thank you for this video 😊
Great to hear it helped you out!
I’ve seen one without a mechanical timer ,how does that work?
Electric? Is it digital?
I lost a key ring with keys for both doors of my workshop and the French windows in my lounge and conservatory. You have saved me about half a grand.
So glad the video can help people out and save them some cash! Feel free to drop me a tip via "super thanks"! 😉
Brilliant video!! My only issue is i have a cam in the housing that looks like it has cogs to turn having an absolute nightmare!
That does sound a little more complicated. Keep persevering, it should go eventually.
thanks this is very helpful - how much weight can it hold i wonder
It all depends what you've fixed it to I suppose, but a fair bit I'd say! I wouldn't swing on it, but it's now holding about 6 suits, and a few heavy coats.
Exactly same size, and totally insecure. You spoke about break secure cylinders, and didn’t even fit one, WHY?
This was going on a back door with no other access to it, so security isn't a major issue.
What happens if the thermostat is unplugged or switched off- will it still switch on/off the heating?
No, it needs power, although it has got a little reserve on it I think. But if the power's gone off, the boiler won't be working anyway!
Do we have to remove everything in the room?
I'd say that's up to you, and depends what's in the room. If you cover it over I can't think of anything that would come to harm. It is easier if you can empty the room though.
Hi, great stuff but I can only access the door from one side as it's on a 5th floor flat with no access to the balcony other then the door. Can this be done?
Do you know anyone with a cherry picker!? 😂 In all seriousness, you may be able to snap it from the inside as you can still remove the screws for the handle from inside and will have access. May just have to be a bit more forceful with it if you can't grip the outside.
Great video …. Please what paint do you recommend to use after this. I am looking for something durable , as it’s a rental property.
I've always used Dulux, but the latest "normal" tin was a bit thin when applying. Go for the Easycare version as it is a lot better!
This was most helpful. Thank you 😊
Excellent...thanks!
How the Phuck do you open it ?
Merci pour votre vidéo
