  • Replacing a BEKO Oven Heating Element. How to change the heating element in a BEKO ODF 22300 X Oven (and OIF 22300 X). I take you through the simple steps required to replace the heating element in order to get your oven heating up again.
    This is a complete tutorial from start to finish which should give you the know how to successfully and safely replace the heating element for less than a tenner.
    The process may be very similar for other ovens, not just BEKO so keep watching, even if you have an oven by a different manufacturer.
    The part number for the spare part used here is 262900074 (1800w). It was from Amazon and this is the cheapest I found:

My oven is almost identical inside but only has one back panel so that flummoxed me a bit, along with the two holding screws at the back being very hard to find, but I got there eventually. The element in my Lamona 4603 fan oven was exactly the same with 2 of the 3 attachment screws installed form the back, WTF !! Rather than pull the whole double oven out from the kitchen unit I managed to remove the 2 screws using grips on the screw tails and back-wound them out. I then pulled them out using a magnet on a stick through the cable slot. Could probably leave them in there tbh as they are caught up in the insulation and not really a problem. I then opened up the two holes in the new element attachment plate to 3/16" diameter and installed it with 2 suitable self tapping screws from the front. Mission completed in about 20 mins for just the price of the element , about £10. 👍😉

      Not sure! If you've bought the right element it shouldn't catch the fan. There may be a bit of adjustment where the element is screwed in, or you may be able to manipulate the element a tad to get it out the way of the fan. Don't pull too hard on it though!

    Hi Charlie, thanks for this video. I have the exact oven as the one you used in your video but it also doesn’t heat up as much, it just stays lukewarm. I have followed your instructions and replaced the element but the issue still persists. Is there some sort of optimum temperature setup I could follow? Thank you so much

      It's usually the element if it's not heating up, but it could also be the thermostat.

    Very handy video CharlieShooters - easy to follow and given me the confidence to try this myself. Do you know if it is simple to remove the fan itself too as mine could do with a clean up. Looks like you just need to remove the centre nut and the fan should slide off the shaft?

      I don't think it matters if I'm honest as effectively they are just creating a circuit with the heating element. I would always put them back as I found them, regardless which way round!

      They don't always show physical damage, but if the oven is coming on and not heating up, chances are it's the heating element at fault.

    Hi Charlie, great video! Only just seen this video after our element failed. Seems since we had the element replaced the fan is now catching the element. The replacement element doesn’t have screw to hold it in place. Any suggestions? Appreciate any help, thanks!

    • @charlieshooter
      @charlieshooter  Před 2 lety +1

      Well, it should definitely have a screw holding it in position. If it is just catching the fan, you should be able to bend (persuade) it away from it slightly.

    Excellent video thanks. My replacement heating element is on order. One question, when the heating element blew it tripped out the rest of the oven, ie the display and dials so I can no longer use the grill either. How do I sort this? Will it re-engage once I've replaced the element or will some fuse part also need replacing? I've checked the main fuse box and it's not tripped there, so it's within the oven.

    • @charlieshooter
      @charlieshooter  Před rokem +1

      Oh right, mine didn't do this so not 100% sure what to suggest to check. Check the manual for other fuses, or you may find that with a broken element it is affecting other things, depending how it's wired? Maybe?

      The heating element went before on this oven about three years ago although it didn't trip the fuse last time.I might check the plug fuse, hopefully it's as simple as that, fingers crossed.

    Great video. The heating element on our cooker does not look damaged like yours but still isn’t heating? Everything else is working fine though.

    Thanks.

      @charlieshooter  Před 4 lety +1

      A few people have said the same, and yes it could well be broken without showing any visual signs. If it's not heating up, and everything else is working it's more than likely the heating element. Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

      If I'm honest, I've not had to do it! However, the process would be very similar to my video, as all the same stuff needs to come off to get to it. There may be a bolt/screw holding the fan blades to the motor maybe, and then the motor will be attached from behind.
