fun fact about my home break, 60% of shark attacks occur due to poor visibility. so when it's murky, don't touch the sandbar with ya feet, just stay on your board at all times, don't fall, and don't eject out the back of the wave without your board under you. I cannot believe as a kid I would swim out to this beach sandbar. Now at 40, I'm knee-deep dude which isn't much I'm 4'11. Growing up in Florida I didn't hear the term of NSB being shark bite capital till I moved to VA. I also swam all the waters in OBX. Now I'm scared to death to swim in NSB now that I'm back in Orlando.

Inhad the same experience yesterday bro. I was really scared and i couldn't continue surfing anymore for the rest of the day.

That shit happened to me today enormous from hell came and I bailed but tue wave was so strong it snapped my leashed, leaving me helpeless without my board. I nearly drowned, I was so drained bc I was trapped in the impact zone with big heavy waves crashing on me, stuck in a rip current and no lifeguard on duty. Luckily I made it out alive by the grace of GOD.

You made a reference to the back to the future hover board, if you really want that feel? Throw some 105s on your boosted board and don’t over tighten your trucks you kind of want that slightly unstable feel and you really do feel like you are floating brother. I think that those 105 should’ve been called “cloud wheels”. I am damn near about to replace my grip tape with carpet and hang some tassels off the corners. One more note , I just joined the community and it is such as strong as ever and I think subliminally that’s one of the reasons why I joined. I am a strong believer in recycling, and the company is good as boosted should not be thrown away.

10 or so years ago me and me sister went there for vacation. She went back to the hotel room that night because she was pregnant. I stayed at the beach and was quite wasted (drinking all day). I waded out into the water not too deep but enough that I had to keep digging my feet in the sand to not be knocked over by the waves. Needless to say about a week later I found out there had been 2 attacks that weekend. I had no idea that was the shark attack capital. The good lord was definitely watching over me that night.

It's interesting that both species are drawn to the action of the waves hitting...perhaps more oxygen?

Sharks eat in inlet waters warming water tiny fish used for bait swim there !! Don’t swim in inlet water near anyone fishing either. Early morning & before sunset they come to eat.

That happened to me today but without current. I kinda panicked cuz I couldn’t touch and two other dudes had to save me I screamed for help

Have always figured if you could snap your fingers and the water would disappear for just a second and you could see all the ones around you, you’d never get back in.

Nice footage!! Also thanks for spreading awareness that sharks don't seek us as prey, but when you can't see them, due to water conditions, they can't see you, and they will do it and exploratory bite to see literally if you are food item for them. So before you get in the water check the conditions they will be a lot less shark bites

i live and surf here in nsb it’s very common to see sharks but no one gets bit

That is one of my favorite places to spend s day at the beach....at the inlet, by the rocks and such. Less packed and away from tourism. Nice choice.

I'd love to see more videos like this. I moved to Florida a few years ago and recently decided to learn how to surf, and this is nice to see. I'm fascinated by sharks, but understand there's a risk, albeit small. But the beauty of the ocean is not something I'm going miss out on because of a little fear. Still eases my mind to see this though.

The more videos I watch about surfers and sharks the more comfortable I get with the thought of surfing with sharks in the ocean.

Btw October through March you will see the most sharks! They follow bait south in fall as water Temps cool! Then follow bait and water temps back to Carolinas and points north come spring! There are resident populations however numbers dwindle in Summer! Tourist here in winter be advised!

This is common at just about every inlet in Fl. Some more than others.however they are always present. They are not stalking surfers,they are just doing what sharks do naturally.if they wanted us we would get bitten every time we entered the water. I surf Fort Pierce inlet several times a week and see sharks almost every session. Check out drone footage from Fort Pierce also same thing! Your in their house people there are no fences!
