Functional Dichotomies in Socionics (Part 2)
zhlédnutí 908Před 4 lety
Hello, everyone! This is the last video in our function series, concerned with the description of the last 4 functional dichotomies: Inert/Contact, Evaluatory/Situational, Mental/Vital, and Accepting/Producing. These dichotomies are much less reliable for diagnosing type, but I felt they were important enough to make a lecture about. Enjoy! Link to Brain's Journey Main: discord.gg/FgYExJb
Functional Dichotomies in Socionics (Part 1)
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 4 lety
Hello, all! In this lecture, I'm going to be using three functional dichotomies (Valued/Unvalued, Bold/Cautious, Strong/Weak) to compare and contrast the properties of the functions. This lecture will be very important in the future for diagnosing type, so make sure you stick around until the end. Enjoy! Link to Brain's Journey Main: discord.gg/FgYExJb
The Id: Ignoring and Demonstrative Functions (Socionics)

Hello, all! Welcome to the last main video in the functions series. Today, I explore the Id: that part of ourselves that harbors passive skills that we don't often wish to utilize. In the next few videos, I'll be going over the functional dichotomies (just like I did with the elemental dichotomies in the last series). Enjoy! Link to Brain's Journey Main: discord.gg/FgYExJb

I think Fe is sympathy and Fi empathy. Fe will hug someone and say the right things without knowing what is going on with a person. «It will get better» «It is all gonna be allright». Fi is not gonna do that until they «know» what that person is really going through and struggling with, and therefore be able to put themselves in the other persons shoes. And then they will be honest and not come with things only meant to make the person feel better in the moment.

Sympathy and Empathy are outdated terms in typology. Anyone can act it, not everyone can feel it. Sympathy used to mean: showing others you care. Empathy used to mean: Creating a level of mental understanding of the person. To feel it, is to understand it from an essential level. Example: What is pain, what is empathy, what is love? An Fi valuer will unironicly ask himself what it means every time it comes to contact with a relation. An Fe valuer however will not look at the individual subjects/objects, and instead look at the emotional aura or the 'vibe'. An Fe-valuer is completly fine with you being sad, as long as you don't show it and ruin the sphere.

Does an individual's level of confidence influence Se's manifestation? E.g., if an individal has a low level of confidence in their abilities (the ability to make an impact, the ability to succeed or overcome obstacles etc.), would that make the Se user more reluctant to engage with the environment/compete or does valuing Se make the individual inherently confident in their ability to impact the environment?

Make a list of them and take note of what programs they run on if they are using different operating systems; speeds of each computer and necessary programs for each department might be some components to consider as to give some people in certain position of power or authority access to components like only a manager may have access to making time card changes.

WANT TO EASILY UNDERSTAND the Socionics DCNH model??? Read this condensed complete summary in plain English from pages 347 to 357 of Gulenko's "64 Types" book ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Why do people of the same Socionic type behave so differently? When 3-4 people of the same type gather to put together a puzzle, for example, some will be more active, others more passive, some more resourceful, and others more reserved, etc. With larger numbers of people an ever-wider variety of behaviors appear. Creating behavioral subtypes to the primary Socionic type. Yet unlike the Socionics primary type, behavioral subtypes are not static. But can change through a person's lifetime with sufficient internal motivation or pressures from unique life experiences. The Humanitarian Socionics School (HSS) have verified four to eight types of behavior within small group collective hierarchies. But for practical purposes (such as knowing what to look for when filling a leadership position) the DCNH subtype system is based on the following 4 functional subtypes with their primarily roles, associated attributes, and leading information elements (cognitive functions): • Dominant (Leader): Competitive; often recognized as the leader; sets clear objectives; ambitious (even when claiming the contrary); agrees only to temporary compromises with an eye on winning; acts decisively in complicated situations; has a high standard of performance; able to delegate responsibility; authoritarian but not in the details; communicates with a wide range of people while possessing only a small circle of close friends. (Reinforced through the linear-assertive functions Fe and Te. Fe energy resonates with Te engagement. Conversely, physical Te movements inevitably charges Fe emotions as well.) • Creative (generator of ideas): Change oriented; searches for new directions and allies; obsessed with originality; rebellious and individualistic; have the power of originality (and sometimes folly); pugnaciousness; ignores common standards; impulsive; dislikes following lengthy procedures. (Reinforced through the flexible-maneuvering (flexible-adaptive) functions Ne and Se. Ne (opportunities intuition) simultaneously resonates with Se (force sensing.)) • Normalizing (finisher): Accurate; compliant; disciplined; efficient; seeks routine work environments that require little flexibility or important decision making; patient; pays attention to detail; conservative; has a narrow circle of trusted friends. (Reinforced through the balanced-stable functions Ti and Fi. Ti (structural logic) as a set of formal rules is supported by Fi (relational ethics) which are guided by informal norms and traditions.) • Harmonizing (corrector): Externally calm looking yet easily embarrassed; anxiously hoping for the best; frugal and simple; emotionally sensitive, compliant; avoids conflict, irritable when feeling smothered; tolerant for the sake of habitual comfort; generous and able to empathize with the weak; allusive. (Reinforced through the receptive-adaptive functions Si and Ni. These functions are enhanced as pairs because they have similar energy. A state of Si (physical relaxation) activates the flight of Ni (imagination) and vice versa.) If the group has 3 people, instead of 4, then one person combines two roles. The most successful combined roles are leaders/idea generators, and finishers/harmonizers, since they are closer to energy. Although in real life many shades of Grey exist. When a small group is made up with different primary Socionic types, the DCNH subtype is primary and the person's primary type secondary in influencing what role each person will play within the social hierarchy. DCNH subtypes measured by the following 3 Polarities of situational behaviors: 1) Under stress and facing a direct challenge: Contact: Willing to accept it with vigor and excitement. (Dominant/creative) Distant: Distances themselves from confrontation to avoid freezing or losing a foothold. (Normalizing/harmonizing) 2) Projects and relationships: Terminal: Seeks closure, following through from start to the end, and streamlining. (Dominant/normalizing) Initial: Initiates and switches easily to a new activity, multitasking. (Creative/harmonizing) 3) External environmental changes: Connective: Reacts with a lot of sensitivity. (Dominant/harmonizing) Ignorative: Pays little attention (Creative/normalizing) Combining these three polarities, we get the following DCNH subtypes: • Contact, terminal, connective - dominant (D) • Contact, initial, ignorative - creative (C) • Distant, terminal, ignorative - normalizing • Distant, initial, connective - harmonizing (H) In real life there are lots of shades of grey between each of these polarities. Similar to how in MBTI a judger may at times act like stereotypical perceiver by not always having clear plans. (Terminal/Initial being similar to the judging/perceiving dichotomy.)

  • @sirbradfordofhousejones

I’m an SEE and I think *some* of these are much more SLE in nature due to the difference in the Ti/Fe versus Fi/Te axis. (Makes sense, though, as it is an umbrella for two different types) That said, most of these are incredibly true… particular recreational competition and the need for impact. Great video!

The Id is strong but left handed. The super Id weak but a part of the right hand (as preferred functions.) According to Proverbs 3:16 "Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour." This means to make alot of money we generally have to get our left handed Id function involved. Look at INTP Elon Musk. Why is it he often gets mistyped as an ENTJ? Because he uses his Te and Ni block so much. Even though in his words, he hates being the CEO of Tesla. Now happiness and long life is found by extending the ego into the preferred right handed super Id. INTP Linda Berens is sometimes confused as an ESFJ? Why? Because she constantly uses Fe (aspirational) and Si. CS Joseph has observed (and I think correctly) that men are generally Id focused and women super Id. One reason why men make more money and women live longer.

According to Socionics 4-D model the strength of the role is 2/4 and the PolR a mere 1/4 (tied with suggestive for lowest.) Conversely we value the role only 1/4 (tied with the ignoring for least valued) but the PolR at 2/4. So overall the PolR and role are tied at a combined value/strength of 3/8. Tied for lowest overall. Because though we don't value the ignoring function we are actually good at it (3/4.) And though we are not good at the suggestive we highly value it (1/4) so are ready to make an effort at it.
