  • Hello, all, welcome back to another information element video! We're done with the irrational functions (Se, Si, Ne, Ni), finally. In the next four videos, I'm going to be talking about the rational functions, which should be good. Stay tuned and thanks for watching.

    Ne doesn't look at all the possibilities. That's a common misconception. It generally creates all the possibilities, symbolically. Ni is that which makes use of Ne creation by collapsing a splay of creation according to "which vector is determinate," into a single salient manifestation, excising the rest of the Ne. This process is ongoing back and forth is both Ne and Ni doms, with "creation" being prioritized by the former, and "realization" being prioritized by the latter.

      Hmm, definitely an interesting perspective! Generally though, I'm not too keen on comparing elements from different models / schools of thought. In Model A, Ne certainly does create possibilities, like you said, but it tends to compare and contrast different created possibilities, as well. And as for the Ne/Ni interaction, that's something we don't really see in Socionics, for a number of reasons that I'll get into down the line in my Intertype Relations series.
      Glad to see that you're showing interest in the channel! More power to you.

    You mention how Ni types do psychologically demanding things in their leisure time
    Would constantly reading about theory while relaxing or engaging in a mystery novel for example count as psychologically demanding leisure activities? and is that what you’re talking about for that point?
    Also, would you agree that a major difference between Ni and Si is that Ni tends towards the general and Si tends towards specifics? Ni seems overarching and Si seems detailed

    • @brainsjourney4187
      @brainsjourney4187  Před 5 lety +7

      I'd imagine those activities would count, yeah. Though it's probably best not to use those kinds of things to distinguish Ni and Si because the line can get somewhat hazy.
      And yeah, I'd say you're on the right track with that 2nd point. Both Ni and Si are perspective-dependent pathways: Si is going to function in more localized, experience-based contexts and Ni is going to function in more globalized, abstract contexts. Thanks for the questions!

      Mystery novels are my cup of tea. My favorite genre actually. 👌👌
      I love reading anything theory based.
      As an Ni dom I love all things psychologically demanding!

    Is this an example of Ni vs. Ne? : A few years ago, me and a friend were watching a movie. After watching the movie, we were talking. She said something like, "sfisfginskdnfkdfnksndg, and that's what the movie is about." And I said, "Yeah that could be." Is this an example of Ni vs. Ne? Like Ni says, "This is what it means." And Ne says, "Possibly, but there are also other possible potential interpretations as well also."

    • @AndreasDevig
      @AndreasDevig Před 3 lety

      @Susana A I'm confused. I mean, judging a movie is part of it too, no? And interpretation is part of Ni.

    • @AndreasDevig
      @AndreasDevig Před 3 lety

      @Susana A I was the Ne Ego in the example, but yeah of course I'm not saying I'm Ne just because of that. It was just an example. I've read about the elements, I just thought I'd ask about that example, to see if my understanding is correct. You're being a little bit rude here, but thanks for the link. I haven't seen it before.
