Recently moved next door. Really excited to see the place develop. Still young woodland but plenty of life already. Had some good sightings on my camera traps and seen other people's out there too. Would love to have some involvement on any current projects or spend time with people who know the site intimately. Interested in the work going on north of the railway and whether linked to the reserve or just agricultural work from the farmer.

Much easier and effective to cut vertical slots on each end of the insulation and slide over the radiator hanging brackets.

If the insulation worked, they'd be okay. As it is, the whole concept of storage heaters is nonsensical. You may as well try to collect and store light.

My water tank is on 60 and is very hot. How hot should 60 degrees water feel? I feel like my thermostat is wrong

Stop importing refugees, save energy.

Try taping your foil to some cardboard and then bring it up from behind the radiator in an arc above the radiator. If you make a decent deflector like mine and blow air at it you will see the air heat up around your room. Believe me you will get more bang for your buck that way mate!

light bulbs and kettles? come on. where is the refrigerator? they use heaps more of energy than all of these combined (except maybe the dryer -- but the dryer is not pulling energy 24/7)

Part of the reason I want to do this is for aesthetic reasons. Our drywall behind our radiators is completely discombobulated (cracking, cracked, entire chips have come off, brick/concrete is exposed, brittle, chalky, bubbly…basically an uneven surface. And I am not able to remove the radiators to get behind there.

No such thing as tin foil anymore….. there is aluminium foil however…

How did you measure the energy wasted and the energy saved?

Thanks for sharing I never even noticed the dial for the hot water on the boiler! Just looked now & it was on max! Just turned it down to be in the middle! Hopefully that will help with my bills as I’m not currently using the boiler, due to the sun we’ve been getting! Just hot water for the bath in morning & night!

I question the wisdom of showing having a fire in the woods during heatwave with risk of ground fire. While it MAY have been done safely not everyone who sees would be careful if they decide to do same.
