From the Ground Up: Wellies in the Woods.

Community and environmental charity, Groundwork, runs Wellies in the Woods projects across the UK. We work with parents and carers who wouldn't normally get out into nature with their children. It gives them the skills and confidence to get the benefits of natural play. Sessions are a mix of activities like creating bird feeders, playing hide and seek, treasure hunts, environmental education, campfire safety and simply having fun outside splashing in puddles. Parents tell us that their children love it, whatever the weather, and go away having made new friends and with a set of new skills to engage with nature.

I question the wisdom of showing having a fire in the woods during heatwave with risk of ground fire. While it MAY have been done safely not everyone who sees would be careful if they decide to do same.

You are absolutely right, that's why our teams are trained, bring the right gear and they brief up the group on fire safety in the session too.

@@groundworkuk I appreciate that but thought others seeing the promotion vid would light fires in woods without your training/briefing. Personally I would have left out the fire in video.
