Welcome to the premier lake lifestyle media group.
Our mission is to share the joy of lake life.
We accomplish this by providing timely, useful and accurate information for lake visitors, as well as by supporting lake communities through commerce.
The LakeHub Network:
We own and operate a network of hyperlocal sites for some of the most popular lakes the south including LakeTexoma.com, GrandLake.com and CedarCreekLake.com. Each site has local contributors providing news, events, weather, lake levels, real estate, vacation rentals, marinas, campgrounds, fishing guides and restaurants.
The Intersection of Hyperlocal and Travel.
Due to the remote nature of recreational lakes most of our site visits originate from outside the local lake area. Many are checking the sites for upcoming events, weather and lake levels as they plan their weekend visit or vacation. Reaching these visitors as they are planning their trips can be very valuable to local businesses.

Great Job👍
Helpful video!! I am in the market for a new or hardly used pop up. Weve been using a rooftop tent and have all stand alone appliances: coleman camp stove, dometic cooler/fridge/freezer, solar panels and power stations, camp sink etc. Would you think it makes more sense to buy a 'bare bones' pop up that doesnt have any appliances? Looking at forest River OTG series. Thanks!

welcome!
i have these 10-12x mag they are good... but beyond that i find the balance needs re-adjusting.... good for the money though and nice to have the extra 22 x should you need it
I pretty much cycle between wide and all the way in, and am able to adjust pretty quickly on the fly after a few seasons
To much bucha bulcha think ill buy a van. When u tired from driving u just want to sleep strait away. But good video
theyre not for everyone! van is definitely simplest. pop ups only have a few more steps than a standard bumper pull camper
Facebook groups warned against this. Sorry you found out the hard way. It’s so hard to transport kayaks and bikes safely with a pop-up. I can’t believe they weren’t built with adventure in mind. Might have to look into reinforcing the bumper. For now I’m going to get a hitch splitter for my truck but then I have to worry about trailer turn radius.
on the roof works ok, not perfect but gets the job done!
@@LakeHubTV I'll have my kayaks up there. Looks like it's going to be in the bed or I'll have to take my rooftop tent off my truck bed rack. At least it's ultra light.
Nice hat, just need to get a matching truck now
bowtie guy at heart, have an S10 on the side! -S
Sewing a replacement bag is actually very easy. A grommet is not going to solve the fact that the material is degrading 4:52
It is definitely not a 10 year solution! But so far it is a 2 year solution
I’m afraid mine is too dry rotted for this to even work. 😢
Bummer!
CAn u put in behind u and jet ski to burgess falls?
I wouldnt recommend it, thats pretty dang far!
Thank you, good video. I suppose fridge storage till next day cooking is second best to ice storage. :)
Thanks! Agreed
nice video - I appreciate the insights - but what about the brakes? Most of the campers I have been looking at have a braking system. Is this an item you don't care about?
No brakes on this here camper - but great point, definitely should test that out! Need to hook it up to do so
Woop there it is
😎
Great video, thanks for uploading! One question I have for you is that the bottom of my 2000 Viking has some wood rot on the underneath at the corners. It sat outside for years but is now in my garage, the wood is now dry, but flakes away if I touch it. Is this a huge concern? I would imagine replacing the floor is not worth the hassle. Like I said it’s only the corners along the frame. Thanks
That is very common for a camper that age. Only becomes a concern if the body actually loses stability in the corners
Great, thanks for the reply!
Thanks for the video
You bet!!
Bro i look for the same exact things i dont like mutliple inconvenient settingd and i likw that it starts on low. I love fenix and being able to use both alkalines and rechargeables, im debating between this or a skilhunt im wondering which one is more consistent and efficient
I have been really happy with the Fenix!
What if you're wanting to buy inventory at various locations and have no idea where you're liable to end up at the end of each day? Depending on the areas I'd be in, there might be one store or twenty. So, I don't know if I'd be in one location for thirty minutes or most of the day.
I always recommend calling the hotels directly and asking, have done it this way for a long time, even at 8pm -Simon
Use clarified butter or ghee. Burning problem solved.
Good call
That looks good!
It was!
Sounds like my problem. At least I'm think I'm in the right direction

You need to sell Condoms. Tell us how good they work and your proof is no kids/fish. 🤣🤣 Good video Brother I'm just kidding
Please show awning setup
Will have to do that in another video!
Question. Where’s a good quiet, relaxing and family oriented place on the lake to take the boat with clear water and just jump off to go swimming. Kind of like a swimming hole for boaters. Any ideas would be awesome!
There is a little cove behind the island in front of Arrowhead Park that fits the description
Second "DO NOT USE THE REAR BUMPER ON A SMALL POPUP> may I add, I did this and much more. Had the 1 1/2" receiver welded to rear bumper. Then added 2 straps from the rear bumper and bolted thru the back side of the camper. Long trip, 2 bikes, that back wall failed allowing the bumper bike rack assembly to lower down enough that the bikes drug on the road, no friendly trucker showed up, discovered it after stopping. peddles ground to nothing. funny part of the story, apparently we dragged the bike over some chickens? and there was dead chicken pieces all in the bike spokes and peddles. New direction going to be either roof mount or a mount on the front tongue. Just another RV "adventure"
whoa!! thats wild. I have since seen an exoskeleton style roof rack that I like, need to track one down
I welded and bolted a receiver to the frame on the back of my popup. I've never put anything really heavy back there except 2 ice chests, so maybe 60 lbs? So far, so good.
nice!
According to Google Translate Malakoff is a Swedish fried cheese ball.
ha!
Been there
nice!
Hey. Thanks so much for the info. Very helpful since we just bought our first pop up camper today as a matter of fact. But i have to ask. I noticed your shirt and am wondering if youre from the central texas area like temple/belton area. My son used to play on a soccer league team for fcb. Were from that area. Thought it was a pretty cool coincidence.
Just a coincidence! Messi fan, but who isnt. Do call TX home though and a fan of Lake Belton and Stillhouse Hollow
Use an engineered hitch adapter
With the bumper flex, Ill stick to rooftop! A great idea for a camper with a real bumper 🤙
I grew up on this lake. There are tree stumps a plenty just under the water. Ok to "haul booty" but use caution! There are catfish in this lake as big as a car lol
Good call!
One thing I used to like to do is unlatch the top half of the door and leave the top half open and close the bottom half. I did that for if I had a dog with me.
Dutch door style - nice!
I've been looking for a video like this for a bit now.
awesome! glad it helps
Your at snowhill ramp
will take your word for it! dont recall
Of course it sagged using wood

Great video with some great tips. I love the proud Dad moment story with your kiddo calling you off so he could catch his own fish by himself. Thanks for sharing that.
thanks!
Gonna give this a try for our Coleman pop up!
Nice! Do you know about the Coleman ABS plastic roof fix too? You can “melt” down airsoft BBs with acetone and brush that over any cracks in the plastic and it evaporates, leaving the plastic material
Where do i fing the lift support braces? 😅
They came with this used camper, but you can find them online they are just not easy to find
My favorite Lake Texoma Striper lures are Alabama rigs, Heddon Super Spook, P Line slabs.
good stuff!
YOU SUKK MOTORMOUTH!!
Put the 4-18x44 Crossfire II on my 450 Bushmaster and have been happy. I never use 18x but needed more than 9x for my older eyes. Clear and bright at low light and the price was good for my budget. My Nikon is a little bit crisper though.
Good to know! May go that route on another one
Do you any snswer abut replacing the roof from the inside ..like is it possible to replace by using a thin ballsome sheet . I don't know how to take it down ..
I have done it before, I used melamine so I didnt have to paint. It worked well. But it was WAY more project than I expected. Had to take the roof off and flip it over, remove rotten framing, scrape the aluminum, rebuild frame, glue in insulation, ceiling, install all exterior trim, and then I did bed liner on the outside to bulletproof it since hail damage is what caused it in the first place. It is a LOT. If you have ceiling damage then you have roof damage!
Great, easy to understand information. Also really good delivery, I could listen to you all day. I subscribed just to see what else I can learn from you. Thank you!
Why thank you kindly! -Simon
Great video .. thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was my first year ground hunting. Could not believe how close the deer came to me. One pushed my brush aside and look me in it eye. I could see the steam from her breath. Can't believe I missed from that close. I made up for it later that day
Awesome!! nothing beats the eyeball to eyeball experience
I hand made two like this for my RV van to store our shirts, shorts underwear, placed a plastic drawer I picked up at Walmarts fit nicely. Thank you for sharing
super handy!
I just bought a 2009 pop up camper good condition for $4500 cash. I’m a single female with 3 dogs. It’s so much easier to tow than those huge pull RVs.
Agreed! Tons of fun for the money
@@LakeHubTV I am a bit nervous about how to care for it. I only have a heavy duty canvas tarp to cover it. Do I need to get a storage unit?
Ten dollar tripod 5 dollar light and seat down. You move the phone to much
Noted! Thanks for the feedback
What do you use for leader? Fluorocarbon?
So it's best to call hotels. I also learned that the hard way. Stupid question but That includes Oyo places too, right?
I think OYO would be the exception - since you can book online and check yourself in. That's a good tip, thanks for bringing that up, because they are all over the place now, even in rural areas. No stupid questions here!
Did he mention that the people are great? I went to the Texoma state park (OK side) and those were some of the nicest people I ever met.
