It's like the training montages in Rocky. But with nerdy stuff and less stairs.
I learned to 3D model - 198 hours over 2 years.

Grasshopper is a plugin for a 3D modeling program called Rhino. Architects use it to design buildings and cool patterns. It took over a year of work, but I was able to design some 3d printed shoes for my wife.
Grasshopper is different from Blender/Maya/3DMax in that it uses a NURBs based modeler, instead of mesh. It's different from Solidworks/Fusion360/Catia/Onshape in that it's easier to make more complex shapes. Closest 3D analogue is probably Houdini.
***This looks easy because I have may hours of experience in Solidworks. If you're starting out your 3D journey completely from scratch, you'll have a much steeper learning curve.***
If you'd like to learn to 3d model using Grasshopper or Rhino a 90 day free trial is available.

15 hour 3D Pen Robot... in 9 minutes
zhlédnutí 123KPřed 3 lety
A deeper dive into one of my final 3d pen projects. I sketched this "giant*" robot in 2D and then spent about 15 hours making it with a 3d pen. The video moves pretty fast, but hopefully you can see the techniques and strategies if you'd like to make your own. *Robot is not actually giant, is actually about 8 inches tall. How to make a Unicorn 🦄 🌈 with a 3D Pen - Detailed timelapse with commentary.

A deeper dive into one of the projects I worked on while learning to use a 3D pen. Every once in a while I make something really cute, even if it's not what I planned on doing when I started. This timelapse explains how even a beginner can complete a project like this. You should be able to follow it step-by-step if you pause.
I spent 51 hours learning to use a 3D pen. Progress from beginner to 3D pen robot!

3D Pens have been around since 2013. I've always wanted to learn to use a 3D-Pen, but kept putting it off. A few weeks ago, I decided to buy one and give it a go! I started with some simple projects, (which were rough) and ended up with a robot I was proud of. Warning, if you watched this video and thought: "That looks easy, I"m gonna buy to buy a 3d pen and make some awesome stuff, how hard ca...
Learn to Draw Cars - I Drew 101 Cars Over 16 months (Progression)
zhlédnutí 120KPřed 5 lety
More than a year ago, I decided to improve my sketching skills (and start a CZcams channel), so I set a goal to draw 101 cars. It took a lot longer than I expected, but I drew them all! I recognize that my starting sketch is already more advanced than most sketchers, but thought you might enjoy seeing the progression that comes with (semi)consistent practice! Do you want to learn? If you're try...

I like your videos you should make more
who is ready for learning to paint for ten years
what material did you print on?
I liked the 3D pen, but I found 3D modeling and using a 3D printer not only faster, but I was able to print really complex designs, good for mechanical stuff or 3D models
Voice sounds like garbage.
bruh
6:18 Another benefit of PLA is that it does not produce toxic fumes like ABS does.
THAT looks a lot more useful than the cheapest 3D printer on the market.
Did you move on to new ventures?
Can you use regular PLA filament? Can you melt down a single color from a 3d object that you made but don't like and use a hot rolling pin or something to recycle some filament?
Wich pen is better? I want to get one but idk it will worth?
breathing the vapors from this device for hours = cancer
My 10yo son got a 3d printer pen for Christmas. It’s called Mynt3D Super. Theres a pro one that lets you change the temp easier but I guess Santa couldn’t afford that one lol It was intimidating for him so I played around with it instead. I made him a pixelated Minecraft sword. He picked the colors and I brought it to life. He was like “WOW mom! That looks amazing” 😊 Made my day but I have a lot to learn for sure! The pen also came with a silicone mat with a bunch of shapes and lines and also a plastic “screen” mat thing so you can trace something without catching things on fire and making the plastic easy to remove from the surface. So I printed out a picture of a Minecraft sword, put the plastic screen on top of the paper and basically traced it with the 3Dprinter pen. Turned out quite nice for my first time. This pen opened up a whole world for both my son and I. Thank you for sharing your journey.
12:00 PICK UP THE CAN.
I like to smooth up the texture using the tip of the pen, melting the filament and smoothing it against the other lines
my daughter loved the comentary and the unicorn until you said the horn doesnt contain magic
I made a mistake in the video. New research shows that the horn actually does contain magic, it's just hard for scientists to see with their regular microscopes. Once the scientists switched to magical microscopes they were easily able to see the unicorn horn magic. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
It's just a glorified glue gun, let's be honest
why does your voice sound so wet and croaky at the same time?
Im not sure why but the sketch reminds me of a construction worker taking a lunch break on scaffolding or the top of a u finished building.
damn that vocal fry
basically a 3d manually printer
3D printers was invented in 1981 People before 1981:
ABS fumes ahhh yes, those are safe to inhale..... No No they are not.
I'm interested to know how much money you spent in total learning. As I want to pick one up and play around the same, but I'm afraid I can't afford it.
2:15 Try it inside a walk-in freezer...
Good vlog, but ill be honest, your vocal fry was really distracting, I had to stop watching because it got worse and worse. From UK.
Sad he mever uploads much
An idea, using a "hot bed" to make better flat shapes? You need to incorporate other shaping methods.
Bless the wives for being by our side. ❤
you can use rolls in the 3doodler
at 17.09,what is inside that yellow sock??? theres a lump i havent seen on other feet. thanks for sharing!
imagine having a chiral wife!
This has come up on my reccomended for over 2 years, but im finally watching it
Whoa I haven’t seen you post in like 2 years
Same
Fr
yea wtf
Yea why?
Lesson is you're kinda an idiot.
He was rlly good why r u saying this?
"Definitely not evil robot"... uh huh
Super cute!
I’ve learned having gotten proficient with my pen you don’t really get “good” with the pen. More so you understand structural design much better haha it’s an incredibly practical skill
The shoes look fantastic!
It always helps when it goes in the right hole ;)
please please please have an excellent fumigation hood and respirator on while printing with abs, drawing with an abs pen for hours wouldve been poisonming you!
I started w/ one of these a friend gave me (b/c he picked it up thinking it was neat, but did not have the art skill to really unleash it --- but I work w/ all types of mediums) So I began the same way you did.. but ultimately learned earlier on that I could smooth my creations w/ a cheap woodburner (worth having some type of fan/ventilation for this). I started a couple Marvel characters like Spiderman and Venom, but I have not picked them up in a few months b/c of other things coming up. This is something I think I will return to soon. I have some great basic shapes (and the long lengths of PLA worked much better for me too). Glad to see others enjoying this tech. It's different, and certainly fun to mess w/.
I was just about to quote "It's impossible to overestimate the value of a first step." but people beat me to it.
Why not use a spool for tge first pen?
ABS fumes are toxic
It’s 2055
3D printers>>3D pens

Well, i hope to see you uploading more, and hopefully some 3D pen videos again!
