I still don't get the double slit thing. Why is it always stated that the 'light goes through one of the slits' ? Why ? What happens to a photon that goes through neither, just getting absorbed by the card or whatever. Even in the 'one photon at a time' model, surely most photons would just serve to heat up the material from which the slit frame is made? How come this is never seem as contributing to the dark regions on the screen ? Also, how on earth do you 'observe' or 'have a detector for' which way a photon goes ? You observe a photon by it energising a rod/cone/pixel. The energy is thus lost and there is no longer a photon. As per usual, this video doesn't even bother explaining how this photon detector is supposed to work. It must necessarily destroy (or reduce the energy of) it in order to detect it. What does it do then, create a new photon ?

I saw the "We should not be here", but I'm reminded of the similarities between other worlds in our solar system and oceanic depths. Like what is suspected to lie at depth in Uranus or Neptune. Or the more hellish versions in Jupiter, probably in Saturn, and possibly on Venus (if dense CO2 can become liquid-like. ... Until we have standardized or bespoke vehicles designed for that kind of on-/in-planet travel, NASA is probably a best-choice for initial investigating.
