According to rumors, which Yu Suzuki pretty much fueled himself too, he appears to be already in talks with SEGA for Shenmue 4, with the possibility of developing a proprietary engine(kind of like Yakuza) and the talks seemed to involve other "classic" SEGA properties like Virtua Fighter 6 and maybe others.

@@FuzzyDlop I think Sega's decision will depend on how well Shenmue 3 sales. If the result good, Sega might do as Yu Suzuki request. The reason Sega release Shenmue I and II in PS4 and PC also to test how much profit potential Shenmue series can bring. So it's our duty as fans to support Shenmue 3.

Now im at the other end of that and cant wait to play the game, take my time and enjoy it without such a bleak future. I just finished Shenmue 2 and I cant believe how I missed such an amazing game, and for a game made in the late 90s its incredible, the world the character interactions, it really was wayyy ahead of its time. To this day you rarely find a game that comes close to having so much detail in its environments, RD2 is one example and thats a 2019 game made by Rockstar.
I really hope Shenmue 4 gets made, because I hear a lot of fans werent happy with how it ended and that worries me..did they expect a conclusion? I find it highly unlikely that Ryo, a kid that barely had real experience in marital arts end up defeating Lan Di, a master no less so quickly. This is a series that takes it 1 step at a time, and thats what I love about it. It feels so real, I for one really want Shenmue 4 to happen, Suzuki please show us that miracles can happen more than once.

Yu Suzuki created beautiful games, people asked him about it for 20 years and he actually made the game that people asked him about and he, himself, called it A "Miracle". That's why he is now one of the best game creators ever (to me) not only is it unlikely that people ask for A game this old to be remade the same, but it's even more unlikely that A game creator cares let alone cherishes it. Such A level of respect for other people and that's inspiring (to me).

Shemue the series has so much heart and personality behind it. I think it what makes this game franchise so special is because like a screenplay that is personal to a director this game is personal to Yu Suzuki. You can tell he really cares about the final product of Shenmue and doesn't want to compromise on his vision.
This game might not have modern mechanics, stellar graphics, or AAA status but those things pale to a game like this that is true ART. Truly a masterpiece from a creator who cherishes his games like art pieces.

Winters_Solace I hope you do enjoy it. Just be warned, it's an old game and nothing like it had been tried before, so be kind to the clunkiness and enjoy an absolutely beautifully told story.

Sandwich Glitch aw man, that's a shame. It's definitely a unique game and I can see why you'd get frustrated if you're just trying to get through it.

I played Face Off and conversed with Shenhua every day in Bailu Village to get Shenhua to like me for the Kickstarter stretch goal "affinity system" . Later in Niaowu, I encountered Shenhua sitting behind the Save Shenmue Temple, we talked, and played "Face Off" one more time. I have a question you could perhaps ask Yu Suzuki: is this Niaowu Face Off instance with Shenhua a result of the affinity system, or is it just random for any player?

Please make sure to support this with more than words.... Please support this kind of passion in videogames. Death Stranding plus Shenmue 3 are amazing examples of taking chances and not folding to the “norm”. We need more of this in the industry and less copy and paste games.
    Love you all ❤️
