The sound you describe is very typical for a headphone that is not broken in. High quality headphones must be played 50 to 100 hours to reach their full potential. When a headphone is played a lot year after year, they always gets darker and more bassy. The MRS7B seems to have a perfect initial sound to last many many years without getting too dark.
It doesnt work like that
Sounds to me like you're considering they are brand new and will need running in time normally headphones will lack bass and be more toppy until they have settled down
My Lotoo Paw Gold Touch makes the ATH-MSR7B bass pop. Lovely sound. These headphones are very picky about source. They're not bright with my sources.
Does the lotoo paw gold change this headphones frequency response?
@BobMarley-zu5sc It can. The DAP's parametric equalizer is top notch and creates no distortion or unnatural artifacts. Having a powerful amplifier also helps easy to drive headphones reach their full potential. Great slam and headroom. Go 4.4 mm balanced.
I went from Sony ch720n to Audio Technica ath m50xbt2 to these Audio Technica msr7b, the gun metal and brown leather ones to match my fiio m15s leather case. Going from the m50xbt2, i prefer the sound of msr7b especially when with 4.4mm, but prefer the weight and build of the m50xbt2.
I've also been using some £50 yinyoo z zs10 pro x with a linsoul upgrade cable for 4.4mm balanced. Now I use the IEMS with my hiby r4 and gave the m50xbt2 to my nephew. I've never really liked IEMS, but these cheap yinyoo ones have made me decide to invest in a decent pair..
Do you recommend any good wired IEMS for the £$300ish price point?
@@dgmr22 the ziigaat doscinco is pretty good if you like bass and moondrop blessing 3 if you want something neutral
@@ryanhostudio Thanks for the recommendations. I'll have look at them. Yeah I'd definitely prefer good bass.
I have these, with EQ and ifi zen dac + ifi zen can plus balanced cable theae sound to me out of thia world. I guess you can always EQ them and fix the issues you see in them.
@@cuprajake1 I am using APO Equalizer for global EQ, +5db/25hz, +3db/40hz, the rest is flat, then I got switched on Xbass on my Ifi Zen Can. If you want more bass you can add additional +2db on the bass. I am not touching the mids and the highs. If you want to push back the mids so you get more v shaped curve, you can push back with -3db the range from 63hz to 6.3Khz, then the same bass boost I mentioned above, and leave 10K and 16K at 0db. Basically thats it. After this EQ they sound really good to my ears :)
Cheers
audio technica need to move msr7b drivers, earpads and also add some air vents into m40x housing. that's will be perfect $200 headphone in my opinion
that's basically an msr7
How msr7b for gaming?
terrible get the hyperx cloud orbit s
@@ryanhostudio thank you for replay,
What dac amp you pair with your msr7b?
@@eric7497 just saw this now but it runs off of anything, but I was using my balanced smsl su-9 and topping a90 which is way overkill
@@ryanhostudio thank you
how is it compared to M50x?
unfortunately i have never heard the m50x so cant do the comparison
The m50x is muddy. The lows bleed into the mids and the bass has too much emphasis...plus the bass sounds loose. Idk why people keep recommending the m50x. Even the m40x sounds cleaner and less bright. The msr7b is like an upgraded m40x. The sound is way more detailed and mostly neutral with a slight emphasis on the highs. If you love bass...not gonna be for you. It's a more accurate headphone in terms of the representation of the sound.
@@LuciferArc1 What headphones for bass ?
