- Finally managed to put together a bike for winter-training. As I still need to get back to my old strenght, beacause of my knee injury. It´s hard to find frames in my size at the moment, so I´ve stripped down a cheap complete bike. Merry Christmas!

Que vídeo legal! Tive uma chisel 2018, troquei por uma epic com suspensão traseira... Mas a chisel deixou saudades... Atualmente maio2021, no Brasil ela custa absurdos 15 mil reais, ainda com decréscimo na qualidade de peças em relação à versão 2018... Parabéns pelo vídeo, saudações do Brasil!🇧🇷

bike no brasil ta caro demais mesmo amigo... comprei uma chisel no inicio desse ano por R$10.900 no site da specialized. Realmente teve um grande decréscimo na qualidade dos componentes nas bikes atuais mas no meu caso foi de ok pois eu passei uns componentes da minha bike antiga p ela e ficou show! No futuro pretendo pegar uma epic tb.

Looks very good! Was looking at Rockhopper, then realized the limitation in head tube and brakes, so the Chisel may be it.
Can‘t Tell you anything about the Rockhopper.
But I can not recomment the Chisl enough😌
@@JanOleBroeske the only downside to it, is that the markup on sales in Norway is significant on Specialized vs i.e. Trek. By that I mean that the brand is priced significantly higher, so the Chisel Comp is put at approx $ 2700 locally. Comparatively, the Trek X-cal 9 is US retailing at $1900, and is listed locally at something similar to $2000. :(

Nice one, it's an 42mm offset fork, if I remember corectly. I more of a Rockshox fan, but the sid wasn't available at that moment

Glaube das war mein Fehler. Die Klammern waren dabei und hatte noch nie eine MT 4. Darum hab ich sie einfach mir reingemacht. Bei MT 5 und MT 7 hab ich auch Trickstuff ohne Klammern, da geht´s auf jeden Fall ohne🤷♂️

Ok... what size was the frame? Did you weight the frame separately?
I'm curious if I can get a sub 10,5 Kilo bike with this frame in XL size, with dropper and Shimano XT 1x12 transmission (maybe cheating with a lighter, Garbaruk cassette, and some Stanno' Crest 3 wheels), Rockshox SID 120mm fork and Shimano XT 8120 pedals.
It's a XL frame. And it's about 1,5 kilos, if I remember correctly.
Specialized told me that the frame isn't tested for the 120mm fork, so be careful. I wouldn't do it...
Yeap, I know I'm a bit outside the specs. But I guess the jump from 100 to 80 in XS size would grant a similar jump from L to XL. Downcountry bikes like those of Orbea and Merida, with the same geometry as their XC conterpart, but 120 travel instead of 100 would also suggest that the headtube doesn't need particular reinforcement.... and the 68 head-angle is going towards trail geometry anyway.

@@johnnynieves2112 No problem :) The Epic is probably a sick bike, but a heavy price tag. For a xc bike, that isn't a race bike, aluminum is great in my opinion👌

screw that chisel frame..it used to be half the price. Not worth it now.
Maybe that's true, but I'm happy with it. There aren't so many aluminium xc frames out there. I like the quality and the fact that it is so light. For me it's the perfect combo :)
