  • This is mostly an architecture tour through a really nice tucked away section of DaNang. Enjoy.
Help me keep this work going. You can support me through my coffee account.

Well done Chuck , get better soon. I’ve walked this street in the past so completely familiar with all of it. Cheers.

@31:21 You walked past Bistro Kaz, I was there in the evening of February 2nd for a Tet Appreciation Event sponsored by the Vietnamese Language School I attend when in Da Nang. I enjoyed your walk, will explore more next time. I am still a Hai Chau man at heart though.
    Aloha,

Thanks for the tour, looks like a quaint and eclectic neighborhood. Hopefully I’ll be there in June or July. Are studios or 1 bedrooms available in that area in the 300-500 range ?

When are you coming and how long will you be here? I ask because there are three distinct seasons here.

Same boat since December with a sinus infection and antibiotics, but I am in Thailand. Sucks. There's something fishy going on. Feel better.

Are you eating lots of nuts? Peanuts? I discovered I am allergic to peanuts and the allergy manifests as a sinus issue, which then gets infected.

For the longest time, I had issues with peanuts triggering migraines, and thankfullyduring the last few years, the migraines dramatically tapered off. So I thought I was out of the woods regarding eating one of my favorite snacks, peanuts. I found a brand here in thailand that are super yummy, so during the last six months I have been eating them regularly. As I mentioned, since December I have been dealing with getting colds over and over again (I teach 1st & 2nd graders), which like your colds, morphed into bacterial sinus infections.
Your response to my previous message caused me to reevaluate my recent peanut renaissance, and after some experimenting, I discovered that (like you) peanuts were indeed exacerbating the situation. I stopped eating them again about a month ago -- got another bad cold, but thankfullydid not have to take antibiotics again for a sinus infection. After further experimenting, I believe also that legume snacks in general and some seeds (peanuts, almonds, pumpkin and even salted fried green peas!) are all currently potential problems for me unfortunately.
Anyway, thanks for mentioning it! Hope all is good with your health.

Hey Chuck, I know that technically if you stay in any country longer than 182 days a year, they can come after you for taxes, eve if you are a perpetual tourist (which is what I will be), but does the Vietnam government enforce this? Do you know anybody who has to pay taxes because they hang around Da Nang year after year? Just wondering....thanks.
