He was putting up crazy numbers in an era when teams were scoring 60-80 a game. Kobe faced zone heavy, paint-clogging defences and still torched them from the inside the arc. Elite footwork, post work, defence, can drive to the basket and pull up from mid. This man’s skillset was unmatched man.

I would say 2000 - 2006 is the peak kobe in terms of athletic, skills, and scoring ability, 2007-2013 was the wiser version and he uses his knowledge and IQ more. 2014-onwards really was a shell of himself, and so many basketball fans judge him based on these years and forgot what a great player he was... What a shame...

Now you know how us older Laker fans have felt. Young fans always do the exact same thing with previous players - always judging Wilt, Jerry and Elgin - Kareem and Magic …. by their LATER years. Why they do this, I’ve no idea. Kareem was absolute monster circa 1975-79… but youngsters always judge him by his bald version from 1988 or something.
Anyway … I can say that this version of Kobe is absolutely among those all timers - easily. Lebron - no.

Everybody should be very appreciative that we actually seen the 17-year-old boy turned into a grown man 20 years with the Lakers and 20 years of spectacular phenomenal unbelievable things you don't usually see on the basketball court that Kobe being Bryant possessed on the court! Be very fortunate that you have CZcams to be able to go back and watch the greatness of this man Colby, I believe he worked harder than any body ever to play the game of basketball! I know MJ is the greatest of all time but you have to put Kobe right there with him I would have to say 48% Kobe 52% MJ that's how much the Love of the game he had in the passion end of one and then need to win at any cost!! Call me was just electrifying in my Jalen Rose voice if Michael Jordan at the original, then Kobe is the remix baby and that is the realest quote and saying I have ever heard! Rip mamba you will be missed forever I never knew you I never watched a game live but I feel like I knew you for 20 years and is still baffles me that you're gone 🥺😔. Rest in peace Kobe Gigi and the rest that was on that helicopter that day January 26th two days after my birthday one of the most devastating day I have ever witnessed and seen didn't want to believe it but it was real!

I hope that now that Kobe's gone, fans can appreciate his brilliance without comparing him to Jordan. I won't start any debates here about who's better because they both were so gifted on both sides of the ball. Many people forgot (Skip Bayless, Steven A. Smith, & Chris Broussard) that in the Jordan's early years, he put up big offensive numbers and didn't trust his teammates as much as he did in his later Championship years; no criticism here it was just that Jordan was that good. It has been said by many that Kobe had no offensive weaknesses. As a longtime Laker fan, Wilt, West, Magic, and Kobe were my favorite players to watch. RIP - Kobe!

I'm not gonna lie Kobe was an absolute beast he really was, and honestly I think the only difference between kobe and MJ was that Mike was just freakishly athletic, now kobe was athletic but not in the way that Jordan was. Jordan was that perfect combination of skill, athleticism, and mindset/drive. I honestly think if kobe had had MJ's athleticism he probably could have surpassed Jordan especially since he got shaq early in his career. But they literally match up everywhere else, made from the same cloth. Either way, you're right that would have been awesome to watch, but I think jordan would win cause he had more athleticism. Neither one of them had any flaws on their game. I hate when people say they couldnt pass its stupid go watch videos they passed when they needed to and could do it with the best of them smh

lee charlie first the dumbest statement going is Player a make player B better. Please explain how that happens. Let me think before knowing player A player made it to the NBA right so they were good enough to make it. Also if player b doesn’t work on his game I don’t care what player A does he isn’t getting better. Now this is what player A can do create open shots for player B but player B still has to make them. Now there is this narrative that Lebron teammates don’t show up and that’s why he loses in the finals. Is it because they didn’t make shots? And if that’s the case how is Lebron making them better? Now I would know leadership when I see it and frankly. I spent 21 yrs in the Army reaching the rank of MSG/1SG leading men and when 15 of those years. Please don’t lecture me about leadership. His leadership was so good he lost 6 Finals left his team because they couldn’t win but he makes people better. Lebron is efficient and he should be 85% of his shots come from point blank range and he only makes 10-20 50% whole makes 9-20 45% but he taking a harder shot because on avg that shot is coming from 15 ft. It’s a reason why the players mostly pick Kobe over Lebron hell Wade has said the same thing and that Lebron best friend in basketball.

This is epic footage but Mamba wasn't born until after he settled his rape case and lost all his endorsements so that was the 2004-05 season and Mamba really came to life during the 2005-06 season when he went crazy. He talks about this in his book Mamba Mentality which is a wonderful read.

In 2002-03 season: Shaq got hurt on company time so he rehab on company time from the off-season toe surgery and missed through the first 14 gms, Kobe Bryant black mamba was the killer offensive player avg over 32.9 PPG (including a nine straight 40-point game), and played all 82 GM's (all starts), but the LA Lakers we're eliminated from the playoffs by the eventual NBA champs San Antonio Spurs, who will go on to win the NBA title that season???

  • @officialmightynotoriousaka3897

In 2002-03. Kobe Bryant black mamba avg. over 31.9 PPG (which includes a 40-point game in nine straight games), to kept the LA Lakers afloat while Shaq was missed the first 14 GM's off-season toe surgery?
