I actually love Kyle as a character. Of course, he's terrible but he represents such an important role in a teenage girl's life. I was with boys like him of whom I thought were special and would give me the world. They left me with a broken heart but also with a very much-needed character development and experience. Not everyone has to go through a "relationship/friendship" like that, there are other ways to grow up in that way... but many of us do and this movie portrayed that part of youth incredibly well.
