The Leafs prioritized personal statistics over team goals for some players. Instead of letting the players rest or work on the power play in the last week of the season, they were going after records..forcing the puck to Matthews in an unnatural way…the result, Nylander got a concussion and the power play was awful…how about team first for once!

Brendan Shanahan is the common denominator and he need to go as we have given him plenty of Leaway to at least get us to a third round, he give a non experienced GM Kyle Dubas way to much power to bankrupt this team , so he must go, if not, you can expect the same.
I think Woll is a great goaltender, but if he's injury prone, he'll always be injury prone, trade him now, don't waste more time.
The biggest mistake that Management made over the past 8 years, is signing 4 players to over 1/2 the teams salary cap, leaving, very little money to acquire, top end defenseman and solid goaltending? Highly skilled players only, will not win you Lord Stanley! You need team toughness, grit, and size which is mandatory, to have any playoff success? Their is not one team in the NHL, other than the Leafs, whom have 4 players each making over 10 mil per season! Greed over championships? When will common sense, come into play, when constructing the Leafs roster? Major changes required, to put a consistent, competitive, and complete team on the ice this fall!

The arrogance of this team and management. The leafs are irrelevant in the NHL, besides the money they make. They have done nothing in 50+ years. The biggest myth in sports is that there is pressure playing or coaching the the Leafs. THERE IS NO pressure, they lose and shrug their shoulders. The fans will still over pay for jerseys, tickets, pop, beer. Leaf fans maybe don't spend $250 on a tuesday to watch Anaheim.
Resigning Marner, Sammy and Tavares would be a death sentence for a run to cup. Won't happen with those 3.

Austin Mathews never was the best player in the playoffs. Marner thinks he is a god does not need to play. Tavares too old, Nylander showed up. Look at all the wasted money bad contracts. How can you win a Stanley cup with all those players counting for most of the payroll.
Most teams that win the cup have at least 19 players, not 4.

Why defend the Core 4?
-The best thing this year was watching Matthews get 69 and then failing to score 70
- JT was out skated even by Maroon in the playoffs
- Mitch gave up in OT, back checking at the blue line, only to watch his man score eliminating the Leafs?
- Mitch saying he wants to stay in Toronto. For him being treated as a God is more important than mentioning he wants to play his heart & soul out as a Leaf.
- Domi outplayed Matthews at centre ice in the playoffs
- Matthews belongs on the wing. At centre ice - Matthews is a proven playoff disappointment.
- The Core 4 looked ready to playoff disappoint years ago - when they lost to Columbus 😀 why were they not upgraded then?
Im not a Leafs fan but JT looks like he's skating in mud out there. In a league built on skill he's really nothing more than a 3C at this point. Prolly better off playing a Corey Perry net front garbage goals role on Wing. Lol the fact that JT and Marner take up $22M of the cap just made me burst out laughing..

Sure Matthews is a great sniper. But Matthews only generates 33% to 50% assists compared to the top 25 NHL assist leaders. That is why Matthews at centre is a proven playoff disappointment.
Marner needs to learn how to commit to back checking. Why he gave up back checking in game 7 during OT at the blue line - just watching his Bruins check score the series winning goal is crazy. I am not excepting Marner to get more than $8 Million in his next contract. Yes he likes being treated as a Leaf God - but NHL fans would respect him more if he learns how to play with his heart like Marchand.
Yes - how can Maroon so easily out skate JT. My wish is for JT to return to NYI and heal his relationships with the New York fans he disappointed years ago. 😀
