the least realistic part about the cable car, is NOT the fact that they had to have already been to the beach to get the cable to lead the beach. its the part where the producers pretend that those 3 have the ability to actually make such a machine in the first place.
@@bpqd2624 the producers don’t try to show that the 3 of them have ability as Hammond sarcastically says they had no help from the Namibian mining engineers, and the reason they have to make the cable car is because the cars aren’t able to get over the terrain they could walk over

I had to rewind 4 times to listen to Jezza tell James that he’d done an incredible job…I forgot that moment and it’s still unbelievable.

It was very nice to see them agreeing and approving eachother, how proud James was as well.
And the other side, it's also fun to see them argue. All in all, its fun to see the boys together. They all got a camera presence and got a magical chemistry together
Bollocks to that, Jezza actually knowing what he's talking about, building the beach buggy cable cart is unbelievable.
This has to be the greatest trio out there.

I LOVE when they're building stuff. Especially when they turn their vehicle into "habitable" environments. My favourite non-special episode is from Top Gear and it's when they built the car-powered motorhome train.

The beach buggy cable car always made me wonder if they could get to the beach to build the contraption, why couldn't they get the cars there? And the final build of the moving refuelling station (with the drive up platform) was actually pretty neat. I've also wondered if Lady Petrol is a real thing or something made up for the show - the only thing I can find is an Urban Dictionary entry that says it's a term referring to cheap wine, not a specific brand name or drink.
Lady Petrol is slang for rosé wine and brummie’s ruin is slang for gin

James May looked absolutely terrified on the cable car you could legitimately see the fear in his eyes that was not acting 😂 also I would like to add that I am incredibly happy to see these three together and doing spectacular and top gear a shadow of its former self as far as I'm concerned top gear is trash these three are what made that show great.

I'm going to be a bit of a James May here and point out that it is, in fact, a vertical lift. Specifically what looks to be a Genie AWP-40S or equivalent which, to be extra nitpicky, isn't rated for outdoor use, nor are any vertical lifts. In order to be approved for outdoor use the EWP needs to be rated for windspeeds of over 12.5m/s or 45km/h.

That cable car thing is beyond belief, what would something like that cost & how many professional people would you need to build it for you ?. They so have to make a behind the scenes series for all these specials, but then again, do I really want to know ?. They would have people lining up to throw stacks of money at them for doing nothing more than splicing a bit of old unused footage together, Jeremy could buy another few pubs.
