- So STAFFORD finally made it to the BBC NEWS room about how AWFUL our road network is scattered with road works after road works after road works.
I did make a small feature on the program, but unfortunately they didn't air my main points about the council, the ways to improve, and the workers we recorded all sat on their mobile phones. ( must of been their break lol )
BUT hey ho least the council should see this and realise how much of a negative impact it is having on our town as us STAFFORDIANS are FED UP!
Stafford has NOTHING POSITIVE to offer anymore.
STAFFORD TOWN = DEAD
Over 70% of the shops in the high street are CLOSED!
RENT in the town prices are through the roof
We have restrictions of what you can or can't do in the high street!
Roadworks are HORRENDOUS
POTHOLES are a JOKE
Theo MP is a joke and does NOTHING for Stafford.
When it RAINS it POURS and FLOODS.
Stafford A&E not even 24 hour!

it happend in Bolton people took it down every night then the council gave up .
Lets hope the reporter goes to Stafford when the motorway gets closed due to an accident, all that traffic is heading into chaos. Stafford needs a relief road building to the west from junction 13 to beyond 14. Well done MR GDB for agreeing to take part in the short news item.
Stafford and surrounding roads are a embarrassment.
To suggest the leaders in the council may have any capabilities to fix it, is wishful thinking.
Someone must be £££ cashing in.

Here at Doncaster we have a newish link road that's closed more than it's open . 3 way lights back up today after just 2 weeks .
Working on the new 3 month old traffic lights AGAIN - 3 year old road looks like it's been down 25 year's there's so many patches where holes are dug over and over . 1st was fiber optic leaving a full length patch after just 3 months of opening then electric / water /gas and they all keep coming back ? .
Whole country is dotted with road works seeing months of dissruptuion , A1 at Barnsdale Bar having bridge repairs for 6 months + now = 40 min delays at peak times . Then they keep closing the A1 / M18 slip roads after 8pm seeing me heading South for home and " Nope " , no warning and i can't get off onto the M18 = 20 mile extra to get home .
Can be in the middle of nowhere , come around a bend and " Yep " 4 way traffic lights at a cross roads and no one working " .
Biggest annoyance was at Ledger way roundabout - 1 lane closed for 1/4 mile leading to the roundabout because they dug a hole in the bus lane around the corner , nothing other than a bus every 20 mins used the bus lane so why close down a whole lane causing massive dissruption impacting vehicles that never went anywhere near the hole ? .
Now it's major works to narrow the lanes as they widen the footpaths to put a cycle lane in the road ( why not on the wider path ) , a cycle lane that starts half way along a road and ends at the Hospital where the lanes allowed ambulances to pass down the middle iff needed , now it's grid lock and no where for the cars to pull over to let the ambulances through as you can't enter the cycle lane and the council have little stealth vans with camera's parking everywhere to catch you out and fine you .
Friend got fined in his recovery truck for " driving too close to a bicycle as he overtook it " on one of these new narrower roads that it seems are being created to cause a problem and issue fines as you can't cross the center line into oncoming traffic or do you drive along at less than 10mph causing a traffic jam waiting till you can cross the white line which may never happen before the cycle lanes suddenly end and the cyclists wobbling all over the road " taking the lane " ? .

I’ve got no idea why they are doing it mate no1 rides push bikes gonna have more people on E scooters they need to focus on the roads not cycle paths

Cycling lane? They have put one in Coventry. I haven’t seen a cyclist on it yet. That took about nine months. Why don’t they just open the road up a bit? it will be more room for cars and cyclists, if they did that. Hopefully, they are not neglecting the potholes. 😂
