Thankyou for NOT putting music to this video. Hearing the flight sounds are a part of the experience. Good job of recording them. Also loved the three camera angles and split screen. Find it boring to see an entire flight video from the view of a camera mounted on the wingtip. Excellent video!
fair enough mavigogun.. I'll say turns (on my GOAT) are gentle and slow. The ailerons don't do that much, most of turns I do, are started by pedal input. The steepest turn i've done so far is probably 45 degrees. I normally fly between 28mph and 35mph, (stalls at ~22 and I've gone up to 40mph) the faster you go, the faster it reacts, but past 35mph you are burning altitude at a fast pace.
I have had a grand time watching your video Did you build your Goat? What is the plastic tube under the front pilot in this video? What other instruments do you fly your goat with?
We did build it. I have three instruments. 1. A Hall airspeed tube kiteboarding.com/proddetail.asp?prod=hall_windmeter 2. A hangliding vario/gps www.flymaster.net/gpssd 3. A yaw string made of 15 cm of yarn string
You are correct, the ridge goes for several miles, each bay is about a 2 miles. With electric assistance I could "hop" between the low lift areas at the end of each bay.
It is a national reserve. so it is complicated to fly there.. if you fly hang gliders or paragliders, I'll be glad to point you on the right direction.
+Alex Ferrer I appreciate the reply, but... hang gliders designed for novice pilots can be banked up tight -or even perform wing-overs; I'm not really sure what that means.
Serait il possible d'importer en France depuis l'Angleterre peut être, ce planeur U.L., planeur qui pourrait m'intéresser, et d'autres Français aussi. Réponse.?...
I am making a GOAT ... looking for help !? (This flight is so amazing that my hands are trembling typing this request.... I have been "planning" ever since Mike had posted his plans ...its been a long time)
Lots of people in that position... You have to keep moving :) I'm a year or so into pouring over the drawings and I have only just started buying parts... Will I ever get there? I have decided to throw £1000 at the job and not consider it wasted if I surrender before spending the full required amount. For that, you ought to be able to build everything but the wings and you will have a good idea by then if you have the gumption to get to the finish line. Even if you fail, it beats watching TV or drinking too much beer :)
@@nevillecreativitymentor I stopped drinking habitually when I learned to fly 20+ years ago... it was an easy choice, flying first thing in a morning with a hangover is not nice :) I was lucky, I was instantly obsessed with flight once I started. If the bug ever gets hold of you, your life will orbit around the weather windows!
Je suis très intéressé par ce Pélican. Pouvez vous moyennant supplément de prix me le livrer chez moi en Savoie France. Payement garanti à la livraison, neuf ou en très bon état de vol.,sans remorque à retourner vide. A quel prix..?....

Excellent video!
Beautiful video, loved all the scenery, the sound of the wind, the creaking... it's as if I became your passenger. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video!
That looks a lot of fun !
excelente !!! felicitaciones

Hi, Could you please help me build a GOAT (technical advice required)
@@nevillecreativitymentor the same
Well Done. I miss My Goat.
"pa' la izquierda, coño!"
Que felicidad debe ser el poder volar este planeador.
Perfect place for ridge soaring!
Ce Pélican m'intéresse beaucoup. Livraison avec supplément de prix garanti, mais remorque à retourner. vide.
Nice raw video (no music). Beautiful place to fly. Where is it?
it reminds me of the SG-38
😍😍😍👍👍👍

How much is this plane? please answer
How is this glider classified? Is it considered a Class 2 hang glider?
bonjour , cela appartient a quelle classe (planeur) ?
The pelican flight over Paracas.
Paracas and some quiet electric assist must be paradise ! Looks better than 3 miles of ridge look like 10 miles, am I wrong ?
You are correct, the ridge goes for several miles, each bay is about a 2 miles. With electric assistance I could "hop" between the low lift areas at the end of each bay.
Where can I find more info about flying in Paracas ?
It is a national reserve. so it is complicated to fly there.. if you fly hang gliders or paragliders, I'll be glad to point you on the right direction.
Looks like you are pretty constrained to where you can find some ridge lift...
The wind was blowing from the SSW. On ideal days when it is more westerly you can actually glide most of the ridge (~2 miles)
I wonder- how steep a bank angle have you pulled with the Pelican? Can it by wrapped up in as tight a bank angle as a hang glider?
Like a beginner wing ..

WAY too big rudder corrections....
You would be surprised how much rudder you need to apply (specially at low speeds) for the GOAT to react.
