Keep the random nature clips
Probably the ONLY time you don't want your jokes to be fire!
You sir win the inernet for the day...
Sarah you are amazing . No fear . Saving a Toyota gemstone for future generations to enjoy . We will never see this level of automotive excellence again in our lifetimes .
The fact that you are going to steam clean that fuel tank tunnel makes you an Internet treasure. So happy to have your channel to watch!
Toyota Service Manual - Instructions for replacing fuel tank:
Step 1: Disassemble car
Step 1 get a bigger lift,
Step 2 look at MCM and see their video on how much of a pain this car is.
IfI is
Your knowledge and love of cars is 100 miilion times sexier than instagram posing by any damn lass! Excellent!
Nothing wrong with you...getting it right is worth it. Do it right first time and you know it’s done. Total respect, dropping a tank is no easy task.
I love your OCD! Your videos are super informative...but, knowing you clean everything up makes them perfect! Keep churning them out!! Mr2 is awesome, but bring back the Tot!
Locating the Right SCREW is on everyone’s bucket list!
😂. Love your humor!
I lol’d so hard when the coolant started pissing out on the floor 🤭
Edit... I’ve done more than a few fuel pumps in my day. Some without the need to remove the tank. Most I’ve had to, last being my weekend fun toy (an 87 t top foxbody I upgraded to a aeromotive 340lph pump). Mr. DOS though.. holy complicated in comparison. Kudos on you. Great work 👍🏼
The reaction to innuendo was the funniest part. 🔥🔥🔥
I love your humor .You are like the writers for the James Bond films.
Watching you is always fun. Never change.
Total respect to you, I did it on a 4 poster and it was a job I never wish to repeat.
I hope your nails are tax deductible. They're the best mechanic nails I've ever seen.
Love the RATM shirt.
That tank is a crazy design.
The sound of joy at accomplishment of a dreaded, hard task!! Thanks for sharing those moments!!!
I have removed and put back the tank twice. When you put back in to make it easy and to avoid struggling and lifting the tank: 1 connect the vent tower to the breathers and push the tank in place with the tower attached; avoids connecting 2 difficult to get to hoses, 2. Push the rear of the tank into place (with a small jack) first while supporting the front of the tank on blocks about 150 mm high above the ground, then put in the back cross support with its 2 bolts loosely screwed in. 3. tie a string or wire round the plug up into the fuel gauge signal and pull this up into the car cabin. Make sure that as you raise the tank this plug comes right up through the hole. You may have to verify this when doing step 4 other wise the sender wire will get stuck between the tank side and the body . 4. using a small jack push the front of the tank up slowly but don't jack so hard that you put a dent in the tank. 5. Put in the front support strap by putting grease on the rod so it does not fall out of the strap and then screw in the bolt of the left hand side of the car. If you follow this you will find it easy to put the tank bank in as no lifting is required. from Jeff
Wow I had no freaking idea that MR2's fuel tank looks like that, elongated shape, right in the center of the car. Weight in the center and low, It's actually a brilliant idea!
I had a 91 MR2 about 20 years ago and they can be a pain to work on...you went beast mode on that gas tank...nice work!
I know how you feel doing this job, just dropped the fuel tank you my self on my 90 Plymouth Laser RS turbo. Keep up the great work, really enjoy the videos.👍🏼
Your MR2 is amazing and it just keeps getting better!
Your tenacity is exemplary Sarah! And yes ... those flare nut wrenches are indispensable for tubing connections! Total respect for your abilities and attention to detail!
I've always loved this model MR2. After viewing your videos I'm reminded how lucky I am to never have actually owned one. Nothing seems to be easy to service or repair. kudos to you for your perseverance and patience.
Your vids are nothing short of amazing!! Funny and humorous content!! Yet very informative!! 😎
Great video. I have to replace the pump in my sw20 so i am happy to find this video. I had to watch it twice though because i got too distracted by her beauty the first time. And thanks for the tip about using a 2jz fuel pump as an upgrade, i did not know that.
Gtechniq makes a ceramic coating for Black trim called Gtechniq C4. It lasts for 3 yrs and is very easy to apply. Now is the perfect time to apply the coating to protect the brand new finish and not have to worry about putting on dressings every couple of weeks. Nothing makes a car looks old and tired as fast as faded black trim. I use it on both of my cars and trim still looks like day 1.
You work so hard and obviously spend additional time to do some nice editing. I don't know where you get the energy.
Sarah, thanks for what you do!
I'm feeling motivated to work on my Mazda3 now because of your example.
I don’t have any energy left 3/4 through the day.
5 hour energy and cocaine.....
Reminds me of my college days when I dropped my Pontiac Fiero's fuel tank for pump shenanigans too. That was the first time, but not the last!
Very nice job. Always a pleasure to see a competent mechanic work.
You are a trooper. That looked like a total pain. Lol loved the unintended consequences of screws, not wanting to be wet and less we forget the difficult nut.
You've been fighting Mr Dos for years, and I don't think I've ever heard you complain about the MR2 for being an MR2. Just another reason Sarah is awesome!
I learned a long time ago to appreciate what I have.
Thanks for this video. I need to do the same thing soon because I need to replace the fuel pump & my fuel hoses. Strangely looking forward to it.
Great job Sarah, always waiting for the next video
I enjoy your channel and hang out for each video. It's educational and at the same time funny.
@Sarah-n-Tuned, you are one skilled and crazy mechanic. Don't ever change. Congratulations on the fuel tank success. I know you've been wanting to do that for a long time ever since you had to bypass the heater core. 👏👍💪
I spent $35 on half a dozen fender screws yesterday. They get you on those specialty items. Love watching you work! Your brave to jump into these projects alone.
This is a really awesome video, Sarah! Thanks for all your hard work and abject weirdness!!
I also replaced my old wiper area plastic tray and vertical trim around the windscreen on my land rover disco LR4. No mater what restore product i used it still just went back to faded stained looking trim. Looks nice and fresh every wash 🍪. Your project is looking pristine.
Crazy job with lots of hurdles and victories. Congrats on getting the heat shield and the tank out. Amazing how clean everything under Mr Dos is. Gear Wrench tools look great too. The best parts today were when you were cracking yourself up. Your innuendo game was strong on this one.
Greetings - tis me from the UK again :) - I find your can do attitude where nothing phases you most uplifting :)
Greeting from Malaysia. I started watching your channel randomly these part few months; snippets here and there. Then due to the lockdown, had more free time and started watching the Mr Dos playlist right from the beginning and no other video. It took me about 3 weeks but I'm all caught up now on Mr Dos and have not watched any of your other videos. You definitely have my respect and subscription. I hope you also change all the related wiring on the pump and etc since you have access to it now.
On a side note, (for Mr Dos at least), this video has the most innuendos. Not complaining. LOL.
I love your OCD when your taking apart your cars
I like the nature shots for the time lapse.
Thanks for the video. I wasn’t looking forward to dropping mine until I saw this. Keep up the great work.
WOOHOO! That was so informative as well and ENTERTAINING IN SO MANY INNUENDO LEVELS! Well done OCD GURL!
Way to go Sarah persistence pays off! Big props to you!
New subscriber here. Every one of your car names is magnificent. In fact, your entire presentation and delivery (the sarcastic relatable tone) is so on point. Love your content, Sarah!
I just replaced the pump on my MR2 aswell, it's funny that I'm now watching you do the same thing. Cheers Sarah n tuned.
once again miss Sarah with the informative vids, thank you Sarah for the hard work that you do keep the vids coming...
So I originally found your channel looking for local tuners in arizona (Like PFI speed) and stumbled on your channel. the work you put into your videos always makes me come back to watch your new content and also motivates me to keep working on my projects.
I was in High School when this car was new. I used to think I’d love to own one. Seeing what a pain it clearly is to work on has disabused me of that notion... But thank you - I no longer think replacing the timing belt, water pump, seals, and accessory belts on my Miata this past weekend was all that bad, after all. Perspective. Its a beautiful thing. 😁
I think I like this channel so much because your are so thorough at everything, cleaning, repairing and taking your time for stuff. The other car build channels are more like if it works its fine dont focus on it anymore...
Great video. I, too, have taken apart cars alone and know what it's like. Kudos to you. Like the camera work and transitions.
Very nice work Sarah. Love lol moments and wrench turner language
Love the electric screwdriver sound as you remove screws with a screw driver. Reminds me of Airplane when they played the sound of a prop plane when showing the outside of the jet. LOL!
Darn it Sarah, you are SO smart! I watch you so religiously. I’ve learned a LOT from your videos.
Every piece that came out I was thinking, yep Sarah is going to clean that, and that, and that, and that.... oh and that, funny joke, and clean that.
Hi Sarah from Maricopa, AZ. You are my hero for working in this heat. 🤯
Trust me, I have a pounding headache today.. it caught up with me.
"Wait for it" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Making progress Sarah!
Keep going with it Sarah! Your videos are great!
You do have skills!!! Love the videos, always make me laugh!!
All the hard work on the now beautiful paint on this MR2 has inspired me... To take my Soarer to the panel shop and let someone else have the pain.
I really enjoyed the video. Job well done. I must say Sarah, your box looks amazing. I wish I could organize mine like that. 🤔
This is how a regular person does automotive work, not all are pros with FSM at our whim. Love it Sarah, Get 'er Done!
I too have the same problem Sarah, trying to find the correct screw....!!!!!.👍👍
Well done Sarah great job, not easy!
Ah Sarah, less that 2 minutes into a video.
Well done. I believe this is a new record.
Coffee filters are great for filtering.
I laughed, when you covered the anti-freeze, Arizona dust.
Also, I had a similar lift like yours, you or Charlie could fab a 6"x6" hinged piece of square tubing to get you just a bit higher. Flip it up when needed, or for get about it. Mine was the same height as the side rail.
I admire the fact that you are able to disassemble and do those kinds of jobs single handedly and keeping your legs flawless at the same time.. 🥰.. i'm one of your greatest fans!!
This is the best video you have made so far.
Thanks for the upload. Stay safe.
So. Many. Bad. Words. 😂😂😂 But you got the tank out!!! 🎉🎉 Keep the nature clips! No one else does it and it breaks up the videos. 🌵
Looks like a royal PIA! Last tank I pulled was my mom old mini van with 3/4 a tank of gas. Made sure I did that one outside.
No need to drop coolant, just move the pipes out of the way. Also check the current draw on the fuel pump. It's much higher than the MR2 and the Walbro 255 so you could melt some wires if you don't update the wires.
I enjoy watching you mod the car. It amazing
I really love your random nature clips.
So satisfying when you got the gas tank out 👍
Hey Sarah, when I re-use coolant, I pour it through a paint strainer funnel into the cooling system. Gets all the chunks out.
This is my favorite channel by far!
Great job Sarah!
Great job and nice garage!
I've been watching for at least 2 years and you never have up on anything. Keep it up beautiful.
Another great video. Thanks Sarah!
Great video Sarah
Hahahahaha.. that intro is four seconds of pure gold.. I literally laughed out loud! We've all been there..
Thanks, Sarah! 👍👌✌
all i can say is thank goodness for you during this pandemic...our only respite (and your jokes are fire)
one of my favorite videos so far ,love your tshirt gonna buy a couple
love your videos and the commentary is great
OMG is everything on this car a major pain in the ass to disassemble? Kudos to you Sarah
That looks oh so familiar. We dropped the tank in my nephews car when we did the Camry v6 swap but we did it after the engine was out so it really wasn't that bad 😊
Very cool !! Awesome video !! Funny !! Thank you for sharing !!!
Another tip is to grab a fuel pump electrical plug from a scrap yard car and connect up two long leads to it. Then you can drop the hose off the discharge of the pump and slip on a long length that you run to a fuel can with the tank still inside the car. Now you can run the pump from a battery and drain the tank completely before removal. Of course you could also just drive it until it runs out too..:)
You love a challenge! Insane amount of work just to drop a fuel tank. Imagine what Toyota dealer would charge!😱
"What is wrong with me?" Nothing at all, you're amazing. I just spent $200 on some hard to find used rubber gaskets for my 35 year old VW.
same here , spent similar for rubber mounts on a 30 year old gsxr-750 motorcycle ... fun times :-))
Spent $90 on 9 suspension bolts from Honda today and hundreds more in the past few weeks on plastic clips, push pins, o-rings and seals. That's on top of going to the junkyard like 5 times to get other things they don't sell anymore.
@@CouchMan88 - junkyards are called "Parts Recyclers" here Down under,.. also known as Mechanical Therapy Days. There's an odd peaceful joy to finding the right parts for our toys.
Its a job we have always put off too (need to fit an upgraded fuel pump before some new injectors) .. It is as bad as i imagined .... well done...hope it goes back a little easier.. 😲
Thanks Sarah
You are awesome! 🙌🏻
Enjoy the channel! Appreciate ya do all the work on your cars. Not like dudes in Pennsylvania or Utah, etc with their big dollar exotics, C8's or truck builds. Thanks for being "real and true"
Awesome! I normally use a pick to break the hoses free, but Great work!
Here at the shop, we love watching and listening to your videos. lol seams like whatever can go wrong, Does lol. We can't wait to watch you put everthing back. btw just a suggestion, but use a small floor jack with CPL small pieces of wood at one end of your tank when putting it back up in the car. Can't wait for the reinstall video 👍😁
