I remember seeing this years ago. I’m from South Wales 🏴 and I’d only seen the theatre and was in it as well. I went with my mother, sister and auntie (two sets of sisters lol). We went touring around California and went we got to Universal Studios the one thing I will always remember is this show. And what really blew me away was the plane coming over the wall. I’d never seen anything like it and was amazed at what could be done in theatre. Bravo. ❤
Hi! I am so glad that you enjoyed watching my video to bring the memories of the show to you. I was amazed too when the plane flew from the back. I did not see that one coming. Our last trip we purchased the front of the line pass and we got to meet the actors after the show and they explained to us everything we needed to know about how they made the plane fly and showed us they reset it for the next show. I will be returnig back to Universal in November. Hopefully I'll be able to record the show again. Thank you for watching my video and commenting on it!
@@ChrisGtek Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. I will be returning back to Universal Studios Hollywood in November of this year. I hope I get the chance to film it again but now in 4K. Now with the new Super Nintendo World attraction I don't know if we will have time. I hope I can film it again. Thank you for watching my video!
I have watched a lot of shows in different parks but this one still is my favourite. Especially the opening with people getting wet gets me every time.
Wow this is my first time seeing this I didn't even know it existed. They did a great job, the special effects and the way they were riding through the water. The plane was awesome 😄 Great job
The guy in the gray shirt at the beginning cracks me up. Gets splashed and has a face like he's ticked off while moving seats. My guy just warned you that if you sit there you're going to get wet lol.
At my first job, one of my coworkers was an older guy from Hawaii. He actually helped out on the set of the original Waterworld since his friends who worked in the crew needed extra hands. He'd talk about how amazing and thrilling it was to see all the action up close, particularly the mind blowing special effects- those were the days before CGI. Finally, when the movie came out, he was so excited to see the finished product! It turned out to be a giant disappointment... Lame, he said. While watching, he kept thinking "this is nothing like how it felt on set!" Still, he feels incredibly lucky to have experienced it "properly". Anyways, perhaps it's best left as a live experience, just as it was for my coworker on the original atoll off Hawaii all those years ago... :)
When I was at Universal in 1987, the same venue with the same structures was used for a Miami Vice stunt show. A few years ago, on my second visit, it was re-decorated to be Waterworld, but the show wasn't very different.
I sat in the green seat and took my shoes off in preparation to get wet. I didn't get a drop on me the entire show until a cast member sauteed me with a drop of water as I was putting my shoes back on.
I like to watch Waterworld once in a while still and seeing this brings a tear to my eye I would love to see this in person someday but living in FL won't get the chance to visit California. Glad the video is here at least.
i havent been there in a while i know theres all new rides..they did a killer job im gonna take my girl for a few days we live in tampa so its an hour trip that chick is a badass shes in great shape to
I went a month ago to universal studios Hollywood. My aunt and I thought we’d be safe at the top green row. One of the guys ran to our row and threw a bucket of water at the guy next to us 😂😂. Luckily it was a hot day.
So, apparently there's different versions of the show because while the action is all the same, the Deacon's lines aren't. When he chases Helen up the tower, he can say various things. The one I heard was him saying nothing but them being a couple whereas another show had him bragging about his accomplishments. I guess it varies what each location's script is because I've heard up to three variants of that scene.
I love how the movie came and went decades ago yet the show still goes on and is beloved
I agree. A lot of people still are watching my video every day!
I love the energy of the crowd. Everyone's enjoying themselves
Yeah love it. I'm wondering how they did the sound effects, you think someone is externally timing most of it? Or is it all queued?
@@hejalll the whole show seems timed down to the second. I still remember seeing it in person years ago, it was the highlight of the day for sure. constant action, very nicely done
@@kaptkronik135 Yeah, so how do you think they time it so well?

That's a great shot!
Great to see everyone having a good time!
