I live on Maui, and the older Heads still talk about when Jimi played on Haleakala. ALOHA
We live 30 minutes away from his memorial... which I filmed for my channel. I also met Al Hendrex, Jimi's dad, before he passed away.

Live on Maui too and finally learning Little Wing !! and I saw him at Woodstock when I was 17!

He was the highest paid performer in the world at this time, and not a single security guard in sight.
My god how times have changed
Just imagining that now!! Literally now you gotta get check for bombs and guns
Yeah a lot of people have been shot ever since
If he had security he might have been alive today..
Although his popularity was on the rise, he earned less than 3% of royalties and spent most of his earnings on partying. His security was almost nonexistent due to his lifestyle. Shortly after his recognized disposition, his plans to switch companies would be halted due to his death. May not be the wisest of choices, but they were his.
@Darrin Robinson i wouldn't doubt it.
Jimmy never died! Earth was just part of his tour!!!!!!
That my friend- is absolutely amazing... what a way to put it 😂🤣🎸👍🏻
Top man
Right on
Third Rock from the Sun...
wow, thats a crazy ass way to put it. AWESOME!
WOW! You put it in a way that makes total sense now! You're right!!!
This was the most dramatic, badass, skincrawling guitar solo I've heard from Jimi Hendrix.. this whole scene is like a mythical place you'd only read about in books
Still groovin to the GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER 🎸 OF ALL TIMES 2022 5:46 p.m. in Baltimore City on a jive warm evening listening to Hey Joe/ Foxy Lady 😀 🎶 😉 👍 😎 😄
The time for drugs, experimenting, staying high, LSD, psychedelic music, flower children, Woodstock, that was the 60s.
Seriously… he’s doin HIS thing…
And also doing every woman in the crowd with his tongue. 😅
I went out for some cheese 🧀 and biscuits and missed it.
Computers can't actually play the old sounds.
So you missed it too.
Computers play the tones in the reverse order.
Kids we were but I know you're coming from pretty cool huh just see these old beds of The real McCoy and how it was really played 👍🗿🎸
It’s absolutely crazy to me that we have such high quality footage of the greatest guitarist of all time and it’s just available for free online
i think they made a new 4K restoration from original camera negatives
Михаил Холодков The Old cameras don’t had a resolution. But Yeah, its good!
@@domi7007 shooting on film is the key
Михаил Холодков Yes!
@@Mik.Kholodkov This is obviously not the 4k versions.
Love how he sings "I forgot the words" at 1:43 and literally nobody noticed!
Considering how the dude plays can you blame us? I've been watching this for over 20 years, too.
At this concert I'm sure nobody noticed exactly where they were other than a concert!
@@Ronnie-Jones WTF are you talking about dude??
Omg I just realised lol it goes with the song but now you told me I can’t get it out of my head 😂
I think he said I'm gonna take you home afterwards, not I forgot the words
RIP the three members of The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Jimi Hendrix (November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970), aged 27
Noel Redding (December 25, 1945 - May 11, 2003), aged 57
Mitch Mitchell (July 9, 1946 - November 12, 2008), aged 62
You will be remembered as legends.
All relatively young
Actually in this video you see Billy Cox playing bass guitar, not Noel Redding.
i dont wanna be thaaaaat guy but iirc it was billy cox at this show :) but RIP!
@@albo3music - He didn’t say anything about this show, read the OP again
the truth you said 🎼
Jimi's mainstream career was just 3 years, but he'll be remembered for 3 centuries
Jimi is so great.
3 millennium, I guess.
Jimi Hendrix went mainstream in 1966, so actually 4 years.
He was a force of nature
RIP Hendrix and Jack Bruce
He is a force of nature

So many people say that Jimi was a mess right before he died.
This wasn't that long before he died and he looks healthy and his playing is as good as ever.
He was murdered.
Pretty sure Hendrix was speedballed. He wouldn’t have shown any wear and tear until that very night, but he was probably a travesty as soon as the drugs hit
this was one of the few shows he did in 1970 where he looked happy and it showed with his playing. Probably because he was in Hawaii and away from the normal tour schedule he was able to relax a bit. If you look at the Atlanta show a few weeks before this on July 4th, he looks miserable. He was in debt because of his Electric Lady Studio and his manager wanted him to tour non stop when Jim wanted to record in the new studio.
It was all coming to an end for jimi. But his time in hawaii he really enjoyed, and he felt recharged for a short while. He had friends that didnt want him to leave, and he didnt want to leave also. Billy Cox had a bad trip on something and jimi had to cut his time short cause of it.
@NAPOLEON WILSON Respectfully, I think that's wrong. There were some serious issues with the sound, he was run down and the many pressures he had to deal with were getting to him. You could see he was having a bad day. He played some great gigs after the Isle of Wight. I think because he died soon after, people have sometimes said, "Yeah, man. Jimi was on his way out at the Isle of Wight, you could tell, man." But I think that's just lazy journalist crap. :-)
Jimi Hendrix makes you feel so free watching him
SO GLAD THIS EXISTS.. The absolute hardest version of the song.
That smile at 3:57 brings tears to my eyes. He goes from being completely absorbed into his playing, sonically manipulating reality, then seeing what joy that created, and immediately sharing in it. Fucking beautiful.
The greatest guitarist of all time, in my opinion
Amen, Casey. Peace.

The footage is so clean, considering when this was recorded. A great song, from an iconic guitarist. May Jimi Hendrix rest in peace. Cheers!
That was on 1970, 50 jears ago, but the sound is still vey good!
Absolut !!!!
there are footages even from the fifties that could be restored to 8k, it all dependes on what kind of film the footages is recorded
I met Jimi's dad years ago in Renton, Wa. He has also passed away. Filmed Jimi's memorial on my channel.

Notice how CD doesn't have the actual sound?
Notice how vinyl records actually play slowly and out of tune when playing at 33.3 rpm?

But I'm 5 times better.
So shut you mouth.
We're sick of your lies.
Jimi was da man! Still is! I don’t give a damn what someone may think, Jimi, was indeed, the greatest guitarist that has ever lived. Plus, not to sound racist, I am so glad that he was black ( African American). He was the very best. People knew it then, and it still holds true today. He made the guitar actually talk. A very gifted musician. He was a little before my time. I was a toddler, but thank GOD for all this video footage. Long live, Jimi Hendrix! May his spirit continue to move on! Peace.
Until Dimebag listen to some of his stuff
@@michaelbanka2244 - Huh? Who in the hell is Dimebag? Peace.

Still unbelievable after all the years the sounds Hendrix could make with his guitar. He could really make it sing, cry , shout, scream, etc. WOW
But the CZcams computer changed all the original sounds.
You didn't hear any original sounds.
When are you going to protest about this scam?
50 years and you still don't have a record that plays at the right speed to get the sounds in tune.

It's been 50 years and you still haven't heard a truthful version of the performance.

When talking about "talent" people are usually meaning skill. Hendrix was a natural. That's real talent.
Damm Hendrix was in top form here, everything from live in Maui is very good.
Oh, by the way, the computer reversed the sounds.
Everything you heard was wrong.
I need a guitar in my hands NOW!!!! 🎸🦅
No, sorry, that's not good enough in 2022.
60 years of guitars means nobody knows what you're talking about.
You have to be more specific.
The most amazing aspect of all this is how effortless Hendrix makes this look.
he's makink love whith the guitar.
literaly and musically.
amazing.
there is pure ecstasy, no guards, just ppl immersed in the trip.
THIS is probably my favorite filmed Hendrix performance and I don't even particularly like
this song that much but he just kills it here. Plays the studio solo even better than the original
and then launches off from that. He's fully inspired and obviously having a blast. His version of
Johnny B Goode from Berkeley has the incredible playing but it doesn't quite have the joy. This
has the joy. The sound is there. The brain and fingers are clicking. The setting is wonderful.
Jimi's happy. You love to see it.
I agree, and the Isle of Wight a few weeks later was the opposite, Jimi seemingly had the weight of world on his shoulders then. Having said that, it came out as Feeling, and I think some of that Isle of Wight stuff, In from the Storm, Red House, Machine Gun, Freedom etc, is incredibly good.
Actually, l like that one too. It's odd. At one point he walks behind his amp,
never stopping playing, and 30 seconds later when he comes back it seems like he
just did a line of cocaine. Then his amps pick up a radio signal and instead of
getting flustered Jimi goes with it and plays with it and off it. All very psychedelic.
Probably the longest version he ever played of it. Freaky!
@@zenbabaloo1931 Do you mean here or at the Iow please?
zen babaloo if you’re talking about Isle Of Wight, Mitch Mitchell wrote in his book that Jimi thought he tore the back of his pants open when he did his squatting move on stage and he panicked and ran behind the amps and wouldn’t go back out until the roadies convinced him his ass wasn’t hanging out. When he came back out, he was relieved. So he wasn’t doing coke in the middle of the song.
I agree about this performance though. Not one of my favorite Hendrix songs but this version KILLS. I love how much fun he’s having.
2:10 gave me chills man
So joyfull to watch Jimi being so in the moment, doing what he loved best
How come Mitch Mitchell looks completely different on every show? I think his playing is also versatile he really felt the situation, the room, and the energy levels required and played accordingly. Special drummer
It’s weird how the audio and video doesn’t match up though
@@MightyConch Dosen't it?... good to me
I’ve learned that the drumming audio for this show was dubbed over in the studio by Mitchell. The wind that day ruined the original recording, apparently.
@@MightyConch Holy Fuck that's so cool actually. I did notice something was weird couldn't say what exactly.

The only 2 things I am 101% certain he would have objected to are the title ("Money", seriously??), and naming his 1970 band with Mitch Mitchell & Billy Cox "Experience" (he used to say onstage that it was a thing of the past).
