Agnetha on the lead here,singing about her daughter in the most tender way a mother can sing for her child.That's totally live and really piercing.That song became widely known and popular to newer generations since it got featured in the MAMMA MIA theatrical smash as well as in that heartbreaking scene of the 2008 MM movie with Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyferd.

Agnetha is an absolutely great storyteller, so deep and authentic emotions in her almost breaking voice. The harmonies with Frida's voice are stunning.
I'm not a parent myself, but I think I get the feeling from this song. It's similar with a partner: So many places to go to, so many adventures you had planned, and suddenly life reaches its end.

"Slipping through my fingers" (1981)
is in my opinion the most testimonial and experiential song by ABBA
This lyrics are very deep about the growth of a son and how those moments of time go by day by day The guitarist songwriter Björn writes it about her 7/8 year old daughter, and her ex wife Agnetha sings it with specialy feeling of mother
Sometimes it is related to "The winner takes it all", because it has as protagonists Björn & Agnetha
But there are differences between the two stories:
1) that is the figurative story about a divorce (although probably with parts of the reality that Agnetha & Björn lived), but this is a story inspired by the daily lives of parents
2) this does not arouse the morbidity of the leading couple, it is an intimate story of parents and children that generates tenderness and nostalgia
3) perhaps this one does not have the usual catchy refrains of ABBA or a powerful melody like that, here its melody is soft, cared for and intimate, it accompanies without invading the wonderful emotional interpretation of Agnetha, that always shines much more when the song asks to express the feelings
In short, it's a beautiful song by melody and interpreter lyrics, it touches the most intimate fibers of emotion and nostalgia, it's my favourite of the album "The Visitors" and us in my Top 20 of all ABBA songs
These is a live perfomance of ABBA, in the TV special "Dick Cavett meets ABBA" filmed in Sweden 1981, and ABBA premieres two songs, these was one of those

Bjorn wrote Slipping through my Fingers about his and Agnetha's 8 year old Daughter Linda Elin Ulvaeaus Who was literally growing up right before their very eyes.

This song is one of my absolute favourites of ABBA but always makes me cry. i think every parent should listen to this song while their child is still young as it would make them cherish the early years more and perhaps stop and think if they have busy lives as a parent.

One of my Favourites from the Visitors - this Album i did not like... I did not like in 1981 - so I could hear the End of ABBA Is near. Now i find out the Visitors is very good and I know this was not the end 👍🙂 Greetings from Nuremberg - Germany 🙂

Today my wee Eva started back at school after the Christmas Holidays. My daughter and I walked her to her new class, a bit of this song came through as we left her where she was a little anxious. A beautiful song.
Congratulations for this perfect choice, probably one of the few live TV shows "Dick Cavett Meets ABBA" with the same perfect musicians they toured with. One of my favorite songs Me And I - a harbinger of the synthi 80ies sounds - they played excellently once here. Knowing Me Knowing You has never been better live; Summer Night City with the fantastic Intro, Super Trouper and the rocker On And On are also very good; actually all 9 songs; unfortunately only a short but good opener of Gimme, Gimme.

I think i might have found two persons who can match up to Johnny Manuel's cover version of My Heart will go on. Here goes could you also please do a comparison video of who sang it best between Johnny Manuel singing his cover version of My Heart will go on on during the finals of the Voice Australia in 2020 vs Kimberly Fransens also singing her cover version of My Heart will go on at her audition on the Voice of Holland in 2019 vs Taiwanese singer Lin Yu Chun also singing his cover version of My Heart will go on on the Taiwan Program "Million Star" 12 years ago. Hopefully these two singers will provide a good challenge for Johnny Manuel.
Could you please do a comparison video of who sang it best between Johnny Manuel singing his cover version of A Change is gonna come by Sam Cooke during the semifinals of the Voice Australia in 2020 vs Adam Lambert also singing his cover version of A Change is gonna come on American Idol in 2009 vs Trevor Francis also singing his cover version of A Change is gonna come on the Voice UK season 2 in 2013?This should be a real blockbuster and yet another challenge. However, as always i know that you will rise to the challenge. As you did in this video as an added bonus it would be really nice if you could rate each performance.
